  1. Me too - but I must be sensible with my money! Will join the club later this year...
  2. Having a very mixed week. So I've been offered a dream job, only as a freelancer but I'm extremely happy about it. Just have to wait a while for all the details to work out, but that's fine. However, the same day, one of the new people meant to be moving into my flat in two weeks had to pull out, so I've frantically been trying to fill the room before I go on holiday on Saturday. Will be fine, got some good sounding people coming to view, but is a stress that I could be doing without. Amazon have been pissing me off too. Ordered a new camera lens to take to Cyprus, as I'm photographing my cousin's wedding out there. Selected local pickup, up to 2 business days. Ordered Tuesday. Estimated delivery next Monday. The tracking says it's in bloody Germany. That's not two business days. Went through about 5 live chat people before getting them to send me one out with Express Delivery, so it'll be here tomorrow, and knocked £15 off the price, with the original order refunded. Sorted, but wasted too much of my time. Worst news this week. One of my best friends is suffering from bile duct cancer. Probably the worst kind you can get. I've spent quite a bit of time at the hospital with him in the last few weeks, things were looking quite hopeful - it was localised and they were going to remove half of his liver this week. They found another tumour in the supposedly healthy part he was going to keep. That's been removed, he's being moved back to Southampton soon for chemo, but that's for palliative reasons and it's unclear whether he'll be able to have the original tumour removed now he's had even more of his liver chopped off. Really scared for him, he's been one of my closest friends for almost 20 years
  3. Great review @RedShell I can't wait for this. Really loved what I played of it a couple of months ago. Going to have to wait because I'm on holiday in Cyprus next week though! Sensible Paul would wait for me to start my new job, or even Christmas, but I know I'd miss a lot of fun of people on here with people sharing their levels!
  4. Not really bothered by the coin, and probably won't listen to the soundtracks. Unsure what to spend my 5500 stars on. Maybe the Zelda carry case. Maybe a Mario Kart trophy (are they any good, or just cheap tat?) I really don't know!
  5. @Fierce_LiNk Foxcatcher did nothing for me at all. Found it extremely boring. I appreciated that it's "good" but it's my least enjoyed film of the year, and I've seen some crap films. Big update time! Still planning on doing video reviews, but I've fallen behind on them! Will get back to them after my holiday next week. Saw quite a few films in August, here's what I thought. Pixels Poor, but mildly enjoyable for the video game references. Maggie A very different role from Arnold Schwarzenegger, as a father of a girl suffering from a zombie infection. Low budget, not a lot happens - it's a drama rather than an action film. Worth a watch when it comes onto the telly. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation Really enjoyable. Cruise is a great action star, Pegg provides great comic relief. Lots of twist and turns along the way, good set-pieces, only letdown is the main villain doesn't seem too threatening. Fantastic Four Disappointing. Ends too soon. They're only superheroes for like 10 minutes of the film! Too glum and brooding. Mildly enjoyed it, but it definitely deserves its failure at the box office. Vacation Another film from the National Lampoon franchise. Pretty much a re-tread of the original. Lots of poo jokes. Very American humour. Was alright I guess. Trainwreck This was good, enjoyable, amusing, but not something that I really think I'd watch again. Felt like a quite classy romcom. The Man from U.N.C.L.E Yes. This was good. Stylish, fun, enjoyable heist/spy movie. My mum said she always liked the original series back in the 60s. Alicia Vikander is so beautiful. Bad Education Movie Never watched the TV series much, but this was alright. Bottom of the barrel humour, but it had a nice, if a bit simple, plot. Jack Whitehall plays the posh idiotic twat pretty well. Paper Towns Quite liked this actually, although I was disappointed at the ending. Some nice mystery elements, although the high-school clichés in it knocked it down a peg. Billed as Cara Delevigne starring, but she was only in it for about 15 mins. Lulls in the middle, but definitely some very enjoyable parts. Straight Outta Compton An good biopic of N.W.A. Didn't know much about them beforehand other than Ice Cube and Dr. Dre were members. Although they were involved in the production, it didn't hold off too much on some of the questionable things they had done in their younger years. Probably better if you're into your rap music and gangster culture. 6. Update on my interview from a few weeks ago! Said they'd be in contact within a few days, ended up almost 3 weeks. Apologised for taking so long, said they'd been hectic with the Ashes and the lead-up to the Rugby World Cup (it's a company that works in digital media/journalism for top level professional sports). Said they'd be happy to offer me work as a freelancer, waiting to hear more details, but the guy who is going to call me is in New York at the moment working on the US Open, so hopefully they get in touch sooner rather than later! Got another interview tomorrow for an internship in football journalism, will probably go along just out of curiosity even though this job is looking like a goer. Excited
  7. I'm reading that United didn't send the contract for Navas back in time - everything relating to De Gea himself was done apparently, but who knows whether to believe that or not, it's Twitter after all. I remember when we signed Arshavin it wasn't all done by the deadline, but it still went through, so maybe it's not over yet. Now reading Madrid are trying to prove it was done at 23:59. Reprogrammed the clock on their PC/Fax Machine then? :p Or not: now I'm hearing Man Utd sent the documents on time, but in the wrong file format so the Spanish FA couldn't open them! Maybe they just need to update Adobe Reader?
  8. It means he'll probably stay and go for free next year! Crazy stuff.
  9. West Ham - away wins v Liverpool and Arsenal, home defeats to Bournemouth and Leicester. Strange form! Only one home win in the Premier League today, and only 7 in total out of the 37 matches played so far. Everyone's underperforming at home!
  10. So.... how long until Mourinho is sacked?
  11. Problem is that teams defend deep against us, especially if they're down to 10 men. In those situations, Walcott is useless - he's much better when the game is a lot more expansive and he can get some space. It feels like we need another striker, but who, I don't know. We're not being clinical enough. As Ramar said, too much fannying around and three goals so far this season is just not good enough.
  12. They've definitely strengthened, though I can't help but feel they've overpaid for both De Bruyne and Sterling. Also shows the financial fair play rules have totally fallen apart so quickly.
  13. Glad to hear good impressions. Like you, I still haven't picked up 2.0, planning on getting that soon (you can get the PS3 special edition with 6 figures for £42 on Amazon right now), but this is definitely on my to buy list too. Will probably hold off until The Force Awakens comes out, and have a total Star Wars blow out, along with Battlefront!
  14. I did two days at Hong Kong Disneyland alone. I can imagine it'd have been crappier if it was busy and the day was spent waiting in long lines, but it was so quiet I could just go around being the massive Disney nerd that I am. Also kinda did Disneyland Paris alone - been with family and stayed on at the park after they've gone back to the hotel tired until the park closed - why give up when there's still fun to be had?? I believe I once managed to do Peter Pan, Pirates of the Caribbean, Thunder Mountain, Phantom Manor, Space Mountain twice in a row, and Star Tours, all in the space of about an hour. Yes, I was practically running between rides, but it was doable! Where did you do it?
  15. Maybe they've kept that space for the possibility of DLC styles?
  16. Yes, THRIP! I'd have to agree that going to a restaurant is usually a social experience, and a better one with other people - I wouldn't go "out for a meal" alone, but if I needed to eat I wouldn't have any shame in going to one. I haven't done "travelling" fully, as in spending months abroad alone, only done a few weeks, but it's something on my list to do at some point before I get too old! There can definitely some lonely periods, but hostelling can be such a great experience, you can meet all sorts of people - everyone's generally in the same situation - on their own and wanting to make friends! Also, you can find wi-fi everywhere now, so you never feel too far from home, because you can always be in contact with friends and family back here if you want. It's strange, I'm a very social person - I love to chat and most the time will never shut up, but I also love doing things on my own because it means I'm totally in control. Maybe that just means I'm selfish :p If you're going to travel Asia, I do recommend stopping off at Beijing. Really fascinating place. Other parts of China probably worth stopping at too, but Beijing will give you the culture and full brunt of communism!
  17. I learnt to get used to it after travelling abroad alone. If you can sit in a restaurant where you don't understand the language on your own, no reason not to do it back home if there's something you want to do. Even a theme park was fun alone - single rider queues! Don't let other people's lack of willing to do stuff stop you from doing stuff you want to. If you spend your life waiting for others, you won't enjoy life as much. I go to the cinema alone all the time now.
  18. I don't remember that one... Being one on one is different to actually scoring, though :p And Cech would've obviously saved it!
  19. We should've won, because we were the only team who got the ball in the net! Cech saved us, but Liverpool were saved by the linesman yet again. Scoring goals at home seems to be a problem at the moment...
  20. We've been awful, but had a legitimately good goal ruled out for offside. Liverpool getting very lucky with the linesmen this season so far...
  21. Yeah, Wii U there's plenty enough for me, seeing I don't buy every single release anyway. Will be getting Mario Maker, Star Fox and Xenoblade for sure (and seeing I may buy a PS4 for Star Wars Battlefront, that's plenty enough money spent on gaming!) But in comparison to what the release schedule would be if Wii U got all the multi platforms, even just the ones that PS3 and 360 were getting, it'd look a lot better. I don't think I've actually bought anything for 3DS this year other than Majora's Mask. I got Xenoblade 3DS as a review copy, but it's making me glad I got my New 3DS for cheap from France, because it's looking like quite a poor investment!
  22. Wow. Those release schedules are very sparse 3DS actually looks particularly bad. It's not had a good year at all.
  23. Started off Stronglifts 5x5 a couple of weeks ago, already starting to feel some progress in terms of my body definition, alongside a slightly healthier diet (always been relatively healthy but have cut down even more on snack foods/carbs/fats). Never really lifted before and not finding it too hard at the moment, apart from the overhead press. I think my grip may have been too wide on reflection, but it's definitely the trickiest exercise of the programme.
  24. Can't say enough how appreciative I'm sure we all were that you hosted everyone. I'd be very apprehensive about having so many strangers over too! Thank you Us London lot should definitely meet up again some time, owe you a pint for sure!
