Online notifications for friends are great. The PS4 OS is pretty much perfect now/as soon as 3.50 is out of the beta. I disabled all notifications except the online notification for a mate I play CoD Black Ops III with. I've played CoD this morning before work. When I had to leave I put the PS4 into rest mode. Came back home, pushed the PS button on my DS4, 3 seconds later I was ingame, 30 seconds later I was in a match. A couple of minutes pass: I see the online notification for my mate. Invited him to a party, he started the game and 45 seconds later we both were in a match. Everything is so smooth and quick. I love it.

So you have to alternate between looking at the TV and the Gamepad? If so, that's horrible. With the right button configuration it would be doable. Take a look at CoD Black Ops III for example. Standard controls: X - jump, L1 - tactical grenade, L3 - Melee attack, Circle - crouch/slide; with this, when you jump/slide (crucial movements in this game) you have to take your right thumb away from the stick, meaning you can't aim during those movements Alternate controls: X - tactical grenade, L1 - jump, L3 - crouch/slide, circle - melee; here you can do all the movements while aiming and it works great; for grenades and melee attacks you don't have to aim, as you generally use those while you're already having you target in sight What I'm getting at - mind you, I don't know what incredibly complex movements and actions StarFox might have - I think with the right configuration everything can be done without the gamepad. As for the second screen for aiming behind you: Just have a smaller portion of the display on the TV reserved for a rear view

And there'd be nothing wrong with that. in fact, it would be freaking amazing. It's what every body wanted, just like @dazzybee said. I doubt motion controls add anything special or good to this game...
-
Will be interesting to see how this will work. I can't think of a scenario where motions controls area necessary to complete levels.
-
If they do this I will never by their new console. Having to pay again for VC games I bought for my Wii just to play them on my Wii U was (still is) ridiculous. They need to sort this out. They should've sorted this out quite some time ago actually... Anyway, the direct itself didn't do anything for me.

Wow. That is total bullshit. What about Germany? We don't have GAME here...
-
Yes, we're cute. Sometimes. You say you jest...:p By the way, did I know you are gay? Well, now I know. Not sure why I'm writing this. I'm bored. Anyway, the lady has found an "original" Vita (the one with an OLED screen) for 90€ (comes with a 4GB memory card). She'll probably pick it up sometime next week (if she doesn't change her mind). Oh my, it begins.
-
Why not give us the option to turn motion-controls off. I don't understand this...
-
Ok, that limited edition changed my mind...for this beautiful game I need that art book. So just like @Ashley I'll wait for Amazon to have the LE ready to pre-order.
-
Not sure if I'll put a pre-order down. My hype is gone and will most likely not come back.

Yesterday, I have finally started The Unfinished Swan on PS4. Such a wonderful and beautiful game Finished chapter one yesterday, and chapter two today. Might continue with the third later tonight or save it for the weekend Managed to complete All-Zones-Mode with two more characters on Crypt of the Necrodancer and I've reached Prestige 4 in Call of Duty: Black Ops III Multiplayer. : peace: I have also begun playing one of this month's PS+ games is Flame Over. You control a little fire fighter who has to put out fire (duh) in randomly generated buildings/floors while rescuing cats and humans. Stay too long near fire and you lose a heart, and as with most video games: lose all your hearts and you die. This wouldn't be all that difficult if there wasn't a time limit. With that you need to prioritize what you should do next. Important things to do: Rescue humans to gain 1 minute, rescue a cat to gain a heart, extinguish fires to earn money and eventually complete the stage, finish a side mission, buy an item from the shop... It's a rogue-like. So I like it. Edit: Finished (heh) The Unfinished Swan. Heartwarming little game.

Free movies and discounts on streaming services please. By the way: Flame Over (one of this month's PS+ games) is a cool little game

My girlfriend is looking for a Vita She keeps playing Crypt of the Necrodancer on mine, she had quite some fun with Shovel Knight last year and since yesterday Flame Over seems to be something she enjoys. She found a used PSVita slim + an 8 GB memory card + some games (i.e. the mega pack 1; includes - among others - LittleBigPlanet, Wipeout, Ratched & Clank) for 120€ She also found a used "original" Vita + 16 GB memory card without games for 110€. The seller seems a bit dubious, though...his/her German is horrendous which is never a good sign on ebay (sounds racist, but isn't). Anyway, the lady will, as always, spend the next few days pondering over whether she should by one or not. Let's see how she'll decide If she gets one, I'll buy her a PS Store card so she can get one or two games
-
Rocket League's amazing, isn't it? I still play this almost every two or three days. Crank up some music and do 2v2 ranked matches : peace:

Well, a Platinum increases the replay value for games like these. And with trophies (more importantly a Platinum) exists, it gives me a real incentive to complete a game. Broforce didn't look appealing to me (still doesn't) but a Platinum would've maybe caused me to give this game a go... Now I can't be arsed. #kav82 And as H-o-T said: Yes, there are better games to play :p
-
Pretty sure you'll be able to pre-order on March 3
-
Let's not go there again...it will just turn into the first 75 seconds of the following video.
-
It's for anyone. I'm currently downloading and I haven't preordered.
-
You know, the PS4 can miss folders forever. It's still the best console out there and will likely be until the next generation. see, everyone can bait
-
The games will be out today. Broforce doesn't have a platinum. And it had such great potential for one. Not sure if I'll bother with this, then Assault Android Cactus looks much more interesting, anyway. Will probably get that and download Flame Over on my Vita : peace: Edit: AAC won't be out 'til next week

Your favourite / funniest Legend of Zelda moments
drahkon replied to Kaepora_Gaebora's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Little drahkon (5 years old at that time) wanted to steal things in a video game because he knew it wouldn't have consequences like it would have in real life. So my younger self tried to figure out whether you could shoplift in Link's Awakening. As most of you know: It's possible. I remember being very happy when I managed to run away with the bow What I didn't realize...it did have consequences. Because later, when I was in desperate need for bombs, my return to the shop ended with some kind of kamehameha-beam-of-punishment I was shocked and never stole from that guy again Actually, I did...I stole bombs... That is probably my most favourite moment of my Zelda experience. And now for some embarrassing news... When my mom found my old GameBoy and the Link's Awakening cartridge I booted it up to see if it still works. And there it was: The realization that little drahkon thought Zelda was the name of the little green guy. -
NEShow Special Episode 2 - Zelda | Zelda | Zelda
drahkon replied to Ashley's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Another great episode You made the best of the slow-news-week. : peace: Love the Community Topics section. A suggestion for that: Maybe don't show the threads/posts that often (and if you do, slow down the scrolling speed a bit), instead just show us bullet points with what a couple of the forum people say. And maybe try to create polls about certain topics and give us the results. @Kaepora_Gaebora I don't need to tell you this again, but I'll do it anyway: You're so good at this. Keep it up
