Can't wait to hear your impressions : peace:

Who is Colin Moriarty? Serious question, I have no idea who that is and what he has to do with Play Station.

Two weeks ago I got told that it's very likely that my contract would be renewed (it expires at the and of April). I even said: "That's great, I won't look around then to find a different job." She responded: "Yeah, makes it much easier for you." I couldn't go to work yesterday and can't today so I texted the PhD student I work for to ask about the contract. Her response: "Looks like we can't extend your contract." If I hadn't asked I would've probably never gotten information about the issue... I get that "very likely" isn't 100% sure, but still...not handled great by her/them I have to say...I texted her saying that and I will talk to her about it personally when I get back to work tomorrow.

I figured this needs more attention as it's getting ignored in the PlayStation 4 thread Due in 2017 on PS4 and PC. I can't wait : peace:

Ohhhh, completely forgot this has been released on the Vita now. Have been waiting for quite some time

Sooo... Supergiant have revealed Pyre. Due in 2017 on PC and PS4. Bastion and Transistor are both near perfect games (gameplay, art style, music...everything works together so beautifully). That trailer makes me think Pyre will be another great addition to Supergiant's library. The soundtrack alone will be amazing again, it seems.

Hm, I might be burnt out on finishing games for a while...sounds weird but it's true... Not sure what's "wrong" but the only two games I keep playing these days are Call of Duty: Black Ops III Multiplayer and Persona 4 Golden. It's not like other games I own are bad...heck, I've recently bought Stories: The Path of Destinies and love it, but I'm not in the mood to play it. With CoD it's just so much fun playing some matches and talking with a mate. And Persona...I mean it's Persona. This time it has me hooked and I will finish it. However, I only play this for one hour every other day or so and currently it only involves grinding und fusing personas (which is great fun, by the way). I actually wanted to get Invisible Inc. on PS4, but I can't see myself playing this any time soon...money saved, at least for now. Here's hoping I'll be in the mood for some "proper" gaming when Uncharted 4 arrives. And after that I'll probably get Dark Souls III. : peace: It has been a good gaming month so far, though. Haven't had that much fun with an online shooter since Counter Strike 1.6 and Persona is scratching that JRPG itch in all the right ways

I know, I know. I was just baiting :p Same here : peace: I've managed to get the Diamond camo for SMGs and LMGs in the past few weeks. Now I'm working my way to get 100 headshots for the Brecci...getting headshots with a shotgun sucks. Even on hardcore. Occasionally I'll throw in some pistol headshots... Getting Diamond camo for those two weapon classes will be a long road

No. Two reasons: The PS4K is not the reason why the console cycle is shorter, it's the quick progression in all of technology, as stated before. Secondly, as many others have said, a new PS4 is not a new console cycle.
-
I think that this change could've been seen coming years ago with technology moving forward very quickly. So I think it's easy to see how this influences console cycles because they are literally part of technology.
-
What it will come down to: Is Sony's - or rather, the PS4's reputation so good that new adopters will get a PS4K instead of an NX? Or to put it differently: Can Nintendo pull the gaming community away from the new PS4. I'm not so sure the PS4K will play into Nintendo's hands. It could, I don't argue against that, but it may also very well be really bad for them. It will be very interesting to see how it all plays out in the end.
-
Apologies, but I don't understand what you're getting at... You mentioned that one should expect a console generation to last 5+ years, I said this is not how it works anymore, you then responded with: "thanks exclusively to PS4k". I think that response is stupid because it has been that way for years now in basically every aspect of technology. Accusing the PS4K is just...well, stupid.
-
You do understand that Sony will not abandond the PS4 at all? There will be games coming out like there has been and not one will be exclusive to the new PS4...
-
I'm sorry, but this has to be one of the stupidest thing I've read on these forums...
-
Ah, I forgot those guidelines. My short-term memory isn't up to speed today My worries aren't as big now.
-
I could see eSports just going with the newest consoles for tournaments etc. But I see your point.
-
You know what? Unless Nintendo provide a great launch, new adopters will probably tend towards buying the new PS4...
-
Let's say I play a multiplayer game at 30 fps on my base PS4, but it can run at 60 fps on the new one...if it's a shooter like CoD this would be a huge difference. Not saying I'm angry at the possibility but I am worried.
-
Well...the console is almost 2 1/2 years old now. You having bought it nine months ago isn't a very good argument here. I think that expectation needs to go. That's not how it works anymore... Not saying I'm all for it, but it has become reality. We don't know how much better the new PS4 will be. Pretty sure it's not going to be far superior.
-
God of War will very likely be an exclusive. I've just mentioned exclusives because I really don't want to do PC only because I love PlayStation exclusives. But if my worries will become reality I'd have a big dilemma on my hands
-
Games. What if the next God of War runs 30fps on the standard PS4 but 60fps on the newer one? Stuff like this would annoy me. Anyway, I'll wait and see what this is all about. My worries will remain until I know more, though.

Woke up at 5 in the morning with stomach cramps, decided to take a pill, threw up 30 minutes later, haven't slept since... I probably won't go to work today...
-
It's not and I won't buy it (unless there will be a trade-in-program like I mentioned). It would just make me wary of future console purchases. If what I worry turns out to be the reality I'll probably go PC only in the future. It matters to me for the reason I said: I'd feel I miss out, especially with awesome exclusives.
-
Well, of course it's my decision I know that it wouldn't change the experience that I have but I would know there's a better experience out there. I don't feel the need to upgrade. It would just be a matter of - for example - "I could play the game at 30fps/an unstable 'between 10 and 30 framerate' or at constant 30fps/60fps...well, I'd much rather have the latter".
