I understand Dennis Skinner wasn't too happy with Emily Maitlis recently either! /offtopic

Other than this, the waiting, I'd say AirBnB(for the one time I've used it) is pretty good and I've only heard good things from others too. It's a bit annoying that in requesting a booking you're tied in when they accept, as for me a much better deal came up from someone who changed their mind about whether they could have me after I'd booked somewhere else(I was only booking a week or two in advance, so had to take what I could get whilst I could). It's definitely something I'd consider using in the future. We went to Wales for a week in the summer and I'm pretty sure my friend booked through AirBnB for that too - again can't say I've got any complaints(except the gas going out one evening).

As DuD mentions the problem with Private has been the issue of balance - again one of the things that irks me about Splatoon. Squads are excellent if we can get 2 or 4 of us, sometimes passable with 3 but much more frustrating - again balancing is the issue. The effort of co-ordinating it all frustrated me before too even though I still took part, though that's worsened now by having a comparator too. I'm not swearing off Splatoon, just got other things taking my attention in terms of gaming - which even then is limited as it takes a backseat to my life of already limited free time! Having said all that, whilst not promising, what time were people planning to be on? Apparently my mate/his mate won't be out until 8ish, so I may drop in for a half hour or so if people are around before(if not I'll probs just play through N-E folks' levels on SMM).

Started a little after 10 with my mate last night - didn't stop til 4. Slowly plowing through the story/quests - why is this so damn moreish!
-
I was hoping to be, but I think I might be going out again. I'm finding it difficult to go back to Splatooning with Mario Maker and Destiny on my already limited schedule atm - as good as Splatoon is I think the faults still irk me and I possibly saturated myself with it for now.
-
Feeling bad for my WiiU - I still want to Splatoon and Mario Maker but the option of the PS4 just feels so superior right now. Don't know if it's novelty or whether it'll wear off, but Rocket League and Destiny are all that's on my mind most of the time! Need to get back in to WatchDogs at some point too but I think Destiny's going to take my life at home for the foreseeable future...

Been dipping into the crucible a bit - find it levels me quite quickly though I'm incredibly shit at it. Also been trying to do bounties but think I need to unlock more - me and my mate are gonna make story a bit more of a priority I think now. Whilst I'm still not entirely following everything you guys are talking about, I'm super enjoying this game(despite my failings) - find myself just wanting to play more all the time!

Daaaaaaaaaamn. Bought the blasted thing but didn't realise PSN credit was out of stock on Very. What a bloody idiot I am. Gonna end up with something else now...or play the waiting game and hope for a restock soon. I'm imagining this offer isn't helping with them selling out...

Man, there is a lot of stuff to this game!! I played from the beginning again on a Hunter last night - got to abouts where I did with my Titan but found it both a bit more boring, and harder too(couldn't do all the Cosmodrome patrol quest/find all the beacons that my mate somehow did) so I think this game definitely goes much better with other people. Felt like it was taking so much more time by myself. Haven't touched the Crucible yet but will think about dipping in over the next few days. For anyone noobing up or just generally bored - I'll likely be opening a chat party whenever I'm on; if I'm in a party and it isn't private feel free to jump in and say hello! It's just me and one mate on Destiny atm, but we'll be generally chatting up there. I'll happily join you guys when you're partying too if that's cool! Anyhow, think my mate and me are gonna carry on with some story stuff tonight about half 9(we're around level 9ish atm).

Do some side work on zero hours at the moment in evenings and weekends for a lesser wage than my Mon-Fri, but have managed to get a bit of a push on the wage to the most I can get for the job! It's only about a quid extra an hour but I'm pretty happy to have managed it without much fuss or resistance from one department or another for a change.

Was that in response to my post? I thought the disc contained TTK and expansion content on it, but there's just a scratchable card inside the box with the download code for it; hence it won't be a re-sellable item in theory. Not sure how many people realise that, but also it means that they're essentially flooding the market with so many copies of Destiny it's going to become almost worthless. Interesting way to undercut it, of sorts.

So much of this thread still reads so alien to me. Does anyone know how long it might take me to level from like 9 to 25? I understand that's the level at which you can start doing TTK stuff, though I'm thinking to not use the insta-level thingy yet but rather play my way to it getting to know the game a bit more, then insta-level a second character to use once I know a bit more of what I'm doing etc. Also didn't realise TTK is just a download code with the disc rather than content - intrigues me on how many essentially useless copies of destiny are gonna flood the second-hand market given it's buyable retail cheaper than the DLC...

Excellent spot! Tempted by the deal for PSN credit, there's a few downloadables I wouldn't mind getting at some point, will have to look into it more later tonight.

I haven't been on the forums as long as most of you, having lurked then joined when the Wii was coming, so I was already just gone 19 and growing up when I got here - and sometimes I'm not sure how much has changed. As I think we all did, I expected to have more by now/feel more grown up - but then I think about it I've been earning a full-time wage for the last 5ish years and owe a lot of money for a house, have a car etc so in some ways I'm doing the grown-up thing; I just feel like I would have felt a lot different I guess. One downside to the above is as Shorty mentions - less time. I'm tired a lot. I work part time Mon-Fri and then usually top up with a Sunday and recently evenings too. That gives me mostly just Saturdays and evenings free and I end up feeling like there's just never much time to get everything done and everyone seen. Compound it with the fact some of my friends are in the same situations(working 9-5, living independently) and it's even harder to get us all together. Given that I work locally and most in London a quick drink after work tends to not happen - people go home and sit down, and then it's too much effort to bother going out again. It's nice having people round on a whim(though I had a similar freedom at home, albeit somewhat less so) but even that can be exhausting just in that it's your house and hosting and tidying and providing etcetc. tl;dr On the whole - being grown up's pretty good, it's just pretty bloody tiring too. I don't even know how I'd have a family or kids if this tires me out as is. I must admit one positive to good online on consoles(ie my PS4) - I can veg out with a game AND get a bit of social in too. It isn't quite the same as seeing people, but it does get/give that fix. I'm different to the second in that I've always been quite social - but I've met people similarly who didn't have a big social connection to then make friends off of. In some ways it's a difficult loop where you essentially need to be social to then get social - but you need that in to start it off! It was definitely more easy making connections etc when younger; but there's still hope now too! I do get intrigued by the fact I'm still managing to meet new people from time to time. One downside though - I'm almost hooked. Someone I knew once called me a social junkie after she was like the 5th person I was seeing in the same day and I laughed it off at the time - but I've found I've gotten into a terrible habit of needing the socialising and I strangely do get bothered quite quickly if I don't have it. The greatest thing I could lose tomorrow isn't my house or money or job, but the connections to other people that I have. There's people I don't see as much these days as I used to and it gets to me sometimes - there's no good reason for it, we've just all grown up a bit too much to find the time.

Whilst this took a turn I wasn't expecting - I don't mind the TV license. I don't use too much of the BBC stuff but freeview is quite handy for me for stuff in the background and my tv can record to a USB stick(where would I be without The Bill every day eh!) - for the price for what you get it isn't too bad; but I've never understood why you need it if you aren't using live BBC services given it's supposedly to pay for the BBC. As for sports etc...I've heard that Kodi can get some pretty cool plugins and streams...

I should mention my second comment on your level was by my mate Johno, @Mike. He really wanted to write something, mostly something making me sound like a basic child (but it's still a fantastic level! He isn't much of a Mario-er so it was fun watching him play and balance the maths vs the platforming !)

You know, I've been thinking this a bit more over the last few days. I want the Directs to continue, but I do feel it's a bit of an 'Iwata's thing'. It's a difficult format to remix, however, but if they could somehow it'd be a bit better imo. Iwata asks was great, and there's plenty I haven't read, I'd definitely like to see those continue - but I think I'd like Miyamoto taking the helm, possibly.

So...I've finally played some Destiny! Started as a Titan and my mate's just started over again so we were just doing stuff together last night(soz for not joining your party invite @Shorty). He was FireTeam leader so I wasn't entirely 100% on what exactly was going on but I understood the gist - shoot the bad guys! Having been a big fan of Halo online, this is very much ticking boxes for me right now. Think we started about 10ish and didn't finish up til almost 2 - gotten to level 9ish iirc. Been favouring the HandCannons with burst rifle(and my trusty elbow) in second; shotgun/fusion rifle in secondary though I did get a sniper yesterday that I might use a bit more. Picked a Rocket Launcher as my heavy for now too. Gonna just solo a bit tomorrow eve I think - make sure I get what's going on a bit more. Then look forward to joining up with other folks for whatever - how much of a liability am I going to be as a low level to higher levels though? We had some appear during our stuff last night, and a few optional side mission things pop up too.

I'm working til 9 this evening, and out at the cinema tomorrow. Might be on next week assuming my Mario Maker or my PS4 doesn't get the better of me!
-
Tell that to my copy of ExciteTruckBots!* Oh wait. You can't. Because it doesn't exist #notstillbitteriswear *thanks Serebii

Good thinking! I'm about to head off for work soon but I'll quickly fire up for the patch etc. whilst I'm out. Edit: Nvm seems it did it when I downloaded the demo off the store t'other night!
-
I would hope - but with his age I'd come to wonder if he'd be as open as maybe someone younger? Also I've no idea what he's like personality wise, but photos seems to be he has a somewhat stern resting face. My concern is that of Directs, if they'll continue, and who will be the face of them if so? Kimishima or someone else specifically for purpose?
-
I'm brand new to it too Choze - got my copy of TKK yesterday but no time to play yet - poss sink the evening into it tomorrow. I honestly know nothing about this game so far, but I'd be happy to learn the ropes with you(if that's a thing).
-
@Marcamillian is a bad influence on my wallet - I've jumped on the Rocket League bandwagon after seeing him yesterday. Played a few matches for fun last night, can definitely see the enjoyment in the game! I'm almost getting too many games to play...

Gaming Podcasts: A Thread about Listening to Others
Rummy replied to Goron_3's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Listened to it yesterday during a journey out. Some interesting bits in there, few I didn't know either. Bit surprised at their lack of knowledge about Chris Houlihans room though - that(and how to find it) has been widely known on tinternets for quite a while! Interesting discussion nonetheless - inspired me for a potential thread at some point and definitely for another play through. I also hadn't quite realised but there's both a SNES and my original cart in my front room so its almost fate...
