Am I right in thinking that 'ascending' items that can be so will bring them up to 170 attack, and if so - what's the point in doing it when there's other higher gear out there now? Is there any point, or is it just a bit of a legacy relic from the game's progression?

Yeah no worries. I'll try to level up between now and tomorrow to get the weapons of light blessing as I really want it anyhow so might as well try now if itll be useful tomorrow. Edit: so it turns out I totes got the weapons of light yesterday, I'm an idiot. Can still get a bonus buff at max and some better orb gens so still gonna work on it for now...

My light's 296 with highest stuff on, and he's maybe 20ish behind at most but we both need gear to get us up a bit more(he's struggling to get much for infusions etc, I probably only have it from shitty grinding other tings and luck). Regards preference - obvs I'd like my mate to join but I feel it's fairer to go to forumites first if he's not here to post himself - so I'm aiming to change the latter by telling him to come post! We're both Titans btw, and I'm fully levelled on my Arc and Solar, with a few more bits to go for void(not got the blessing/weapon boost unlocked yet). If there's a certain one that'll be beneficial to us I'm happy to rock it.

What's groundbreaking for you, then? Again - the issue here is definition. Why is Splatoon so groundbreaking where the others aren't, especially where the criticisms can and have been levelled at certain aspects being behind the times? I should have added to the Fable point though - Fable 2 just wasn't that great for me(but I would say still of good quality) and I didn't even bother with Fable 3 iirc. It isn't just Nintendo that can end up causing franchise fatigue or missing the mark with sequels - BUT the competition does tend to just have so much more on offer, and variance within that, that you can get over it easier than you might with a system like WiiU.

-Minecraft?(and for me, Terraria, though that's going to be coming, apparently). -Destiny? Has that format been done before? Yes it's FPS, but the fact it's shared world has offered me something quite unique in that regard. -The Witcher? - I've not played it yet but I'll take Flink's views on the matter as a good indicator, at least for myself. -Tearaway? I've heard good things about that being unique and innovative. -Until Dawn? Again I've not played but I heard good things - one standout simple feature someone mentioned here was that apparently with a PS4 camera it will film/capture you just before the jump-scare bits and then you can see yourself back! It's so basic, yet sounds really interesting to me. -Fable? This was a while ago, and whilst I suspect it wasn't necessarily the first or groundbreaking, for me it was the first experience I had of such a type of game, and on console no less. Fable 1 literally went on to sell the 360 to me. Ofc, I am answering just for other systems. I stand by my original post that Splatoon is, for whatever infrastructure flaws it has, a groundbreaking and quality title. I'm also only just venturing abroad so can't make my own fair judgements on a lot yet. But sometimes what about not just groundbreaking - but genres/variety? I don't know if it goes into the quality side so I won't labour it - but I do feel like there's more variety further afield. If we talk quality of a system, is a varied experience on offer a part of that? One big problem with the whole thread is again an age old issue - defining what we're actually talking about, when we talk about 'Quality'. Mostly this thread has just made me sad that nobody uses the word 'quality' when something's excellent anymore Are these quality titles that are system sellers though? I mean I recently bought a PS4 - but I've little interest in ANY of those titles and never have been. I could be an exception - but how many people buy the system for them, as opposed to those who buy them because they have the system? Not to mention aren't a lot of them made for the older platforms too, reducing some newer system selling potential?

Was gonna say the same @Blade. It's hard but it's for the best, she treated you like shit and the only thing to do with toxicity like that is cut it out of your life. Of course it's much easier for me to say than for you to do, but I'd say you should delete/block her yourself.

I'd definitely like to as haven't done any raids yet! If there's space for another my mate would be interested in joining too. re: availability I should be able to do anything as I haven't got plans, the only downside is I don't want to be up/on the PS4 much past 10/11pm as I've got work at 7am Sunday morning so wanna try and get in bed at a sensible(ish) time.

What was the mess with the MCC? Tbh I'd put it down(possibly biased) to the general success of the PS4 - I know a few people who jumped ship from Xbox to PS, which I guess actually includes myself too. I definitely know more PS4 owners than XBone owners off the top of my head(even from before I had a PS4). What's the LTD comparisons between the two, if anyone knows?

Me and Marcamillian ended up at a small thing a month or so back where they had Goldeneye - I have to say that whilst I still think it held a certain amount of charm and appeal I really did struggle for a while! Given I'd just gotten my PS4/Destiny I was incredibly used to the flexible ease of twin stick movement/aiming, so much that in Goldeneye whenever someone appeared I'd essentially be turning in a circle aiming at the ceiling as my hands tried to do something basically not all that possible/analogous to the N64 pad. Mentally I actually found it really disconcerting at the time - just such a discrepancy between what I wanted and what was happening. I definitely agree that they were acceptable at their time(didn't struggle greatly back then) - but I'm glad for the evolution towards twin sticks. The sole idea of trying to aim accurately but having to stand still and press L/R just seemed really weird and foreign!

I haven't tried a raid at all yet - which one would it be and could I try out with you guys? Might need a bit of direction but would be good to give it a go. Times might be an issue for me though, so dependant on that.

My mates at the first thing I went to had some instant costumes! Not sure where they got them from but like £3 for 6 - just plastic overall with a costume-type thing printed on it! Was rather impressed.

I'm going to two things - I'm actually already half an hour late for the first and still at home. The up? None of my friends have enforced fancy dress, and I've not been at all inclined to bother. Pic's not working for me - what did you go for in the end/what sort of deal did you manage to snag? I've noticed that sometimes PSN can be slow - I've got good VM internet too so I think it's something on their side. Also obligatory...one of us, one of us, one of us! Whats your PSN?
