You know, I've been thinking about it and I don't think it's all that hard/ridiculous to get a lot of gaming time in. I've had my PS4 roughly 3 months - since which I've gotten almost 5 days worth in on Destiny - that's 120hours alone so let's say 40 hours a month - aside of which I've played other games I don't have a playtime for too. I'm somewhat busy as I'm sorta part time Mon-Fri and work a lot of Sundays to add in, and tend to socialise a number of evenings and Saturdays too. I must admit I have two screens and double up my playing time with background TV time, so that gets a bit more out for me. I've also managed to watch all of Fullmetal Alchemist in the space of 5 weeks in company - call that another 26 hours too. Monday and Weds this week I had people round for tabletopping say 7 til about 12/1ish - imagine how much you could get done if you put that into a video game! I think that's the thing for me though - gaming doesn't tend to take my priority over socialising(though the social features of the ps4 certainly offer a part of that fix) or anything else, but is a nice something for the downtime. I think the other issue I'd have is that I can't necessarily dedicate myself to a solid 6 hour chunk of one game or so - sometimes I just feel like I'm not all that fussed to play and am just going through the motions. With Destiny the social aspect kept me going a lot at first, and now the daily/weekly offerings tend to keep me coming back - knowing it's just a little bit here and there I don't feel like I'm going into something quite so big, if that makes any sense. I'm absolutely terrible for sticking with a game and completing it though, which probably reflects some of that reluctance and lack of persistence in me.

Is the Telesto the fusion rifle you mentioned about before when I was talking about them? Is it worth me getting? Although the annoyance will be getting it up from 280. I need to find a way to get myself strange coins more/faster so I can buy Xur's equipment bits and scrap them for shards -.-

I had 2 on the 360 and it definitely lived up to its name - had some proper good chuckles actually playing it with people round at first and seeing all the ridiculous things we could do(it was more limited than this one, though). The only real criticism to be levelled at JC2 was that after a while it did get repetitive, and a number of places were somewhat cut+pasted, but on the whole there was still something pretty satisfying about constantly blowing shit up. I recall it also boasting the fact that it was a game that anywhere you could essentially see, you could go(not so groundbreaking now). I definitely want this, but not sure at the current moment/price. If you never played the predecessor however I'd highly recommend this as it seems to be offering more of the same - and it was absolutely hilarious.

Managed to NM it to the daughters last night, in addition to completing the warpriest's challenge which I was pretty happy with managing without too much prior planning and considering it's still only my third time running the raid. Sadly I already had a 310 artifact from the last time I raided, but I guess it could go to infusing on an alt? Only other semi-decent drop I got was a 310 machine gun, don't think I had much else so le sads. Plus point of this however is that my setup of choice now has me over 300 light, and I'm thinking of putting that 308 handcannon into my pulse rifle soon now. Quite likely we'll continue Monday night, if anyone fancies jumping on for a bit to quickly do those last two bits for some easy lootings? Maybe even Sunday. I'll probs post here before anyhow :p

Oh yeah, I totes never thripped this because I had ideas above my station and am unable to do so! As said, it's quite an interesting topic and I'm not sure I can actually make up my mind on it! I've thoroughly enjoyed and sunk maybe 100hrs+ into Splatoon, but some of its online features are lacking despite its refreshing nature. I can't access the stats atm but I've probably got at least 120hrs+ in Destiny too. Would I call it my favourite online game though? I'm not sure. I put a lot of time into AoE2 back in the day as a teenager with a few friends - online by virtue of its nature and I really enjoyed that. I liked that in Terraria you could host a world and it could persist when you're not there but others are, or that you could hang about together. I've put a lot of hours into that game too. The most I've probably ever put into an online game would most likely be Runescape from my younger years(only MMORPG I ever played) - easily in excess of 100s of hours if not past the 1000 mark. But they're all so different! So I don't know if I could actually choose. Should it be because it's a game you liked that was online, or because the online was great, or what? Hmm.

Ahh no worries! I'm sure we'll manage ok with randoms - I'm probably still the weakest link tbh! Edit: dammit! Servers down for maintainence -.-

One thing in the game's defense imo was that you still got XP losing those tricky battles, so persevering was less annoying than being reset to a save at an exactly constantly level etc. Having said that I may have already over-levelled a bit before getting there, and whilst I definitely had some bloody difficult moments, could imagine it only being worse had I been a lower level.

Last quick shout for a normal mode raid tonight at around 8/9ish? Maybe if anyone wants to get some loot for an alt or so?

Ahhh excellent stuff @Kounan! I was gonna suggest shining a torch/light in there next to see for an obstruction, but glad to hear you've managed to solve it otherwise

Certainly sounds strange as it's definitely 3.5mm(used a headset on both wiiu gamepad, ps4 pad and my phone) - what happens when you try to put it in? Could there be anything inside the jack socket causing an issue?

So wait just to clarify - the data packs are 10GB to download but compressed and actually install at almost 20GB?

Thanks, I wasn't sure if it was the Star Wars aspect or also excellent gameplay/modes that was making it a hit - more potential for a purchase of JC3 instead though!

What's it offering though? I played the demo a while back at a gathering, but can't say I was terribly taken by anything in particular. Star Wars has never been particularly big on my radar(sorry, like, everyone) - so I don't know much about what it is this game is doing that other games aren't? Is it mostly a multi-player experience, what makes it good if so?

So, other than the whole star wars aspect - what's it about this game that would make it worth getting?

Probably a bit beneath you guys now but anyone want to help with a normal mode raid on Thursday? Heyho's messaged me to see if I'm interested, not sure of time yet, or who else we might have(Frag/Psychick probs can't make it) - just putting some feelers out before getting other randoms. EDIT: Wouldn't start until at least 8, as Heyho's gotta get the littler kids to bed.

My only question to those who get it - is it as good as/better than JC2 and its utter ridiculousness? I haven't looked into it all too much so far, but I'm thinking of putting it on the to-do list for next year now I've actually got a system to play it on!

Excellent! Might have to fire the WiiU up sometime soon and get them on there - can see myself impulsively caving for the game soon; be nice to sit at home with in the quiet bits of xmas(which I don't have a lot of, tbh). Am I too old to take my WiiU to my parents' house and play video games all of xmas day rather than socialising with the family :p?

I must say I do find the Red good, but I've never really fancied it on consoles/hardware for some reason. Think blues tend to be my favoured, if I can get shiny like gold or silver :p Saw some proper sort of gloss metal gold cases when I was looking into the gold pad, it's so cheesy but I'm really bloody tempted to get one at some point...

Yeah it's gone up to £41 on amazon cos it isn't their own stock :p GAME are apparently doing them at £35 so I might pick it up when my mate's working and use up this fiver of points I've got with them too. Just...dat gold...
