What's the main diff to the regular splatling? Weight? Range/damage? Charge time? Must say I've missed Suction Bombs but I haven't been much of a fan of the Inkzooka - it's been on a few weapon choices I've made recently though and I'm slowly starting to get a bit more used to it.

I do recall someone posted in the Forum forum about a browser extension that can properly hide the posts. I'm not sure how I feel on the shadow-banning front, I'd personally not be much in favour though it would make things easier in terms of the protests we get from people - I feel it's more ignoring a problem rather than tackling it(also no idea on the ease of implementation front). Post limiting etc I am more in favour of - and similar to why I've utilised thread bans. They're not full forum bans but do hopefully make people reconsider if the topic they wish to talk about is taken away from them for untoward behaviour.

Yeah I'm thinking I'll take it easy/by myself for the first chunk of playing, just to get my head around it all. Guess we'll just have to see how it goes! Just preordered from SimplyGames for £37.

Sooo...I'm a PS4 owner now! Destiny seems to be a certain for teh cards with The Taken King expansion/retail release coming up. My only question - how hard is it going to be on me getting into this game so much later than all of yous? I know basically nothing about the game really.
-
Yeah I don't see why not but that's something for the admins. In fact I'm almost certain this has been done in the past, no? Before my time as a mod but I'm sure someone did it here?

Not got that much to spare! I'm using some crappy one I bought for the Wii U - seems to get the job done. The one that came with the PS4 isn't great, it doesn't fit grandly in my ear but I'll make do with my other one for now. Did a bit of party chatting and even tested a bit of share play when I was potentially stuck in Teslagrad last night(I quickly became unstuck, then forgot Marcamillian was still watching me). Ha! I will, I will but I'm going to try and be good in terms of playing games/backlog so I'm gonna play some other bits first(such as TLoU and maybe Watchdogs...despite Daft's protestations :p) then look to pick it up, maybe getting it cheaper in the process. ORly? I may take you up on it depending on this morning's trip to the shops... Yeah I think I will! Can't wait to break it to my friends' other halves tomorrow that I may be joining the Destiny crew - they don't even know I have a PS4 yet! (and my friends are sad about losing their men to it :P) I'm slightly sad in realising my friend in japan doesn't have one as I thought she did and it'd be cool to catch up in the brief hour we're probably both online, but I'm still excited too! Played a lot of Teslagrad last night, then tried the other PS+ games too. One's a sort of basic metroidy clone, not great but with the tried and tested formula it hooked me for a bit.

Happy to see there's no attribution of change to moderation The thing with Wii was - he did get infracted for his behaviour. His ban was simply for unfortunately getting his 3rd red warning - it's always been 3 reds=ban. It's a shame he had to be(and I didn't see it coming myself) - but one thing that seemed to come out of this thread was the general lack of moderation; so putting anyone above the rules(contribution does not count, sadly) means the system falls apart all over again. I agree a forced blocking system would have been good, but I don't think it was possible. Tbh it's sad given most if not all of us are grown adults that some would refuse to voluntarily undertake it. Though I am also aware of the flaws of the ignore system too, it's something that at least goes halfway. Speaking of moderation, a change to the system was being considered and may be similar to as follows. Everything is always still up to the moderation team's discretion, so it isn't concrete, but it might form a basis of infraction/punitive measures going forward; For any friends of Wii(or himself, if reading) I wouldn't get excited though - these won't be applied retrospectively if they go forward.

A few folks will already have caught this but... (my house/front room is generally quite messy, as the photo shows)

Well Argos didn't seem to have God of War and I didn't fancy the others, but then I found GAME nearby doing the same - £300 for system, TLOU and God of War. I traded God of War in straight away at CEX, so have £21 store credit to use there. Argos had a year's PS+ for £35 though so I picked that up and I've just set all the freebies for this month to download! As much as I hate GAME and didn't want to go there I have realised there's the advantage in the points - so should have just over a tenner to use as of tomorrow(if I can ever figure out their bloody phone app thingy). Didn't realise how...earpiecey the earpiece was going to be. Thought it'd be a proper headset dealie - but good to see it's a 3.5mm I can use the one I use for my WiiU(alol, read as Skype) as backup if I need.
-
Surely can't go too wrong for a tenner? Plus I'm pretty keen to check it out given Flink's enjoyment...I can pick up other stuff later on! EDIT:FFS. All my local stores are missing at least one item from the bundles. One store said it had everything but suddenly it doesn't
-
I'm gonna go for TLOU and God of War - which I'll trade at CEX for £21 credit and get Watchdogs for a tenner of that in the interim I think. Trying to get my work done then I might knock off early to go down the shops...!
-
Heh, I was just looking at it! I'm super tempted by Argos as it means I can get it sooner and a white one too(just to be a bit different). Think I'll get TLOU but not sure what to pick for my second, might go for whatever trades best at CEX. I'll buy a year's worth of plus from wherever's cheapest online.
-
Yeah a few different people I know have mentioned it over the last month or two - the social aspect of it is definitely a draw as it sounds like just the thing I'd enjoy and keep me playing. I don't think I can wait to hear about my money and I might just order the thing tonight along with some Plus - make do with the games from there and maybe pick up WatchDogs as it's apparently only a tenner in CEX. I'll get The Witcher later(sorry FLink). Gonna have a scout for best deals now... EDIT:£300 for a white from Argos with 2 of: Minecraft, TLOU, DriveClub, TheOrder, GodOfWar3, LBP3 or HellDivers Super Earth... vs £280 for a Black with 2 of: GodOfWar3, The Order, LBP3 or Minecraft...

Interesting...how much would all the DLC cost otherwise? Just wondering whether a second-hand+DLC would save a few quid. Also does the PS4 install all games to the hard drive? I'll still get a 500GB model and looked to upgrade myself, just wondering how fast I might end up running out of space.

I thought there was - but I recall when I used to actually play my PS3 the tiny bit I did that the chat features weren't particularly great compared to that of what I was used to with my 360, so just wanted to be sure it had moved on to something decent! I don't actually know how much I'll be party chatting, probs more one on one but just good to know it's there! Used to love just sitting in party chat on 360 and gassing with folks as we were all doing our own thing after a halo sesh or so!
-
Yeah that's what I'm thinking - just got to get the latest bill then ask for my own damn money back. Is there a decent party chat system for ps4? Like regardless of if were in multi could I just be playing witcher chatting to you playing FIFA whilst HoT's playing Rocket League?
-
True, I've mostly gone on the light side in the last year or two due to portability etc(don't get people together for the bigger ones as much). I've played King of Tokyo a few times and quite enjoyed it, but not enough to feel I've really gotten bored or owt so kind of get tempted by it every so often - but I'm trying not to re-buy stuff my friends have too. I'd say you've got a few heavy ones there with Catan and Betrayal, Ticket to Ride whilst not heavy can last a while, and Forbidden Island's a nice middle-ish ground. I'd recommend Pandemic if you like the mechanic - though it's meatier and longer iirc, and after a few plays it's not really doing anything too new/mixing up to keep it fresh where as the Forbiddens have a variety element to them. I still enjoy Pandemic, and would play it again, but it's not something I'm raring for these days. Moogle was talking to me on facebook today about a Skull(and Roses) query, and he raised a point I'd agree with definitely - some of the simple concept, easy to teach, but potential for complex levels of gameplay/strategy games can be quite fun. Personally that's why I absolutely love Coup(good shout btw) and Skull(and Roses) so much - I've yet to find either boring despite their simplicity and repeated playings. They're great ones for the pub etc so I've been keen to pick them up more than the big ones. I know Fluxx already, but what's SushiGo and Snake Oil all about? And the Geek Out one? Not heard about Cuba either so would be interested on your impressions there if you've played it with your group already.

Aaaaarggh I have been waiting for this but I cannot read it at work!! May have to rinse out my phone battery reading later on...
-
Couple of those I don't know/recognise but some great ones there too. I spy Roll for It there too - played it this weekend for the first time(just one game); nothing too heavy and pretty simple but it's another of those easy and light games I enjoy playing sometimes to break up the heavier ones. I keep meaning to invest in some dice myself to also try out some of the Tenzi variations - again simple yet fun. Bit of the old school sort of chaos :p

Ahhh cool! Didn't realise it comes with one! Watch this space for another adopter soon... That was something that jumped out at me actually. Whilst I've little interest in playing MGS, I might not mind watching Marcamillian play through and a feature like that's pretty awesome to be able to just watch and chat with someone whilst they run through games. Probably won't have quite the same edge as doing it in person, but be interesting to see how it feels in comparison.
-
Yeah I think those two are on my list. Maybe Geometry Wars too, and some cheap Plus too(dunno how cheap one can get it). Some of the social aspects of this console tho! Just reading Hero's post above...man, it really does seem to be on the money. Out of interest do you guys tend to chill and chat when you're online/playing or only when you're playing together? Also what recommendations would anyone make for a not terrible but sub-£20 headset?
-
(Apologies that I basically always ask this question every once in a while then never buy the thing...but this may be the real thing! :p) Marcamillian has just caved and bought a PS4 for MGS(no interest myself) but it's making me itchy. REALLY ITCHY. Tempted tempted tempted. My energy company always overcharged me so I'm thinking of sensibly getting back the money they owe me and sticking it right on a PS4 and plus rather than the mortgage. What's the good things for me to be picking up? Obvs TLOU's been recommended, though I'm maybe thinking some of the smaller/cheaper titles etc. Thinking I might pick it up towards end of the month or October to entertain me in my abstinence(and after the buzz of Mario Maker fades).

I must say I too quite enjoy a spreadsheet - and I quite like what you've done there! I do sit trying to average in my head how much longer I'd have to play to get to certainly levels etc. Made it to about 37/99 on the last rank playing for fun(never intended to go all the way) and got tempted - but after a few matches with exceedingly poor teammates I just gave up. One thing I'll say about this Splatfest though - they were fairly goodish roller stages and got me on the carbon roller - it's really making me fancy going back to a roller now(I did play a few matches last night with it) as they're quite beastly when you rock them right! The Carbon Roller's pretty much instant kill splat when you're next to someone is fearsome!

I went dance, tried to find some matches last night(probs midnight-1amish?) and the matchmaking was as terrible as ever again. Ages to find team, ages to find opponents - lots of timing outs. Edit: matchmakings a bit better this afternoon but there's some shocking players on the dance -.-
