  1. I know you don't like to hear it Ronnie, and I'm very glad and appreciative of this potential Zelda direction as it's right up my street, as TP would have been, as long as they manage to capture the charm of the game that tends to be in the things we haven't actually seen. Whilst that's a very positive article for this one game - my concern is still that this is just one game. Is this Nintendo now? A one-trick-pony heavily built on a single game to satiate their current users and somehow encourage adopters of their next system? I know it's an old argument, but how many people are actually going to pick up or buy this game from the general population? How much is it going to bring in for Nintendo? If it isn't some overwhelming success, if it doesn't bring in a ton of new users, what happens then to both the future of Nintendo, and importantly, this franchise too? No matter how good this one game is? Telling me there's a huge queue to play the next game in one of the biggest series franchises of all time really just does not say enough about the future to me. It tells me that Zelda was, is, and possibly still will be great. But my concern is whether that in itself is enough. Would you be the same if it was an article about the queues worldwide for games like GTA, CoD, or FIFA? I'm not so sure.
  2. How did you know my reasons?!?! Nah but seriously I'm in. Mostly because I think Out is gonna really hurt our economy and a lot of the promises being made by the campaigners aren't actually currently feasible promises(lack of power to promise/make those decisions, uncertainties etc). Immigration doesn't come onto my radar with it at all, I'm just very scared for our economy if we're out. I think the NHS is in jeopardy either way, but I think even more so if we leave, too. I have friends voting Leave though. Whilst I can disagree and I have had discussions with some of them, I fully respect that we've all been given a vote and they're free to exercise and use that(I am tempted to remind them if it goes shit, though). I'm still going to use mine, but personally I really don't think this should have been something left in the hands of the British public, in such a short time frame, with such little education provided. I think it's all just far too complex a picture for us all as armchair politicians to decide upon. The betting bug has bitten me recently. I'm very tempted to vote Leave(though odds are shortening) just so I get some small satisfaction even though it isn't the true outcome I want. EU sanctions on thankings and politeness I'm afraid. Soon you're not even going to be allowed to say sorry even when someone else bumps into you. the above is just a little joke please don't get upset or think I'm mocking anyone's views for being Leave, I'm not OMG ARE WE GOING TO BECOME N-UK?!?! Again, this isn't an attack on those wanting to Leave(I personally can see legit arguments for both sides but feel, for me, the balance of probabilities re benefit are on those of Remain) but someone shared this this morning and I just found it unbelievable. I used to like Boris but this kinda thing quite scares me now.
  3. Always been a big Spidey and subsequent Marvel fan, and I was ever so pleasantly surprised when I discovered the spiderman games on I think my Xbox?? Think I had Spiderman 2, and was very suitably impressed with it at the time. Played a few more since, but eventually I got one problem; I found them repetitive. I know it's a problem you're likely to get with open-world/free roam style things, where there's just not an easy way to balance a large/vast world for exploring with sub-activities that are varied enough, but that'd be my main concern with this too. Having said that - I definitely took note after seeing it in the Sony conf. The previously titles have, as I said, very much impressed me with their general conduct and movement etc. it's only the repetitiveness that got me so I'd certainly be keeping an eye out for this at the £30ish mark or so, or even sooner depending on user feedback once it's out!
  4. Tbh I don't think that's really particular news. It's always worked for the DS due to the proximity of screens, but that extra few split seconds dashing your eyes up and down and re-adjusting with the game pad doesn't come anywhere near acceptable. I'm sure there was something I played on WiiU before that made me think the same, but I can't recall what now. Also whilst this is looking good - I'm still wondering about this NX dual-release and delay. I'm not planning to get an NX after my personal experience with WiiU - but I wonder; would it be a good idea to allow a crossbuy/free upgrade to any WiiU owners of this for NX? Like if I bought this at first and change my mind down the line and do end up with an NX.
  5. Watched a few little bits and read @Murr's Nintendo summation on his page. It's very different(and sadly seems quite heavily focused) to what I'd expect of a Zelda, but it looks good and I'm enjoying the approach it's taken so far. I'm still upset about the delay and the dual-release, but from the little bits I'm seeing coming out of this and what people are talking to me about it's certainly a game I'd think about picking up on release now.
  6. Tried to watch/catch-up this morning. I enjoyed it, I guess, but I wasn't too focused. I liked their approach of just letting the games speak for them rather than people, but not sure how much many of them spoke to me. I'm sure many more little tidbits and smaller games will come out of things(probably already have) and they're probably likely to be the ones that appeal more to me.
  7. All sounds sensible to me. Where's the venue and would there be an associated cost? If it's London like Zell I'd like and be happy to be involved if possible can help out with gear etc if needed. Could spare two 32" screens for it atm with ability to drive them up into London, as well as any needed consoles etc. Sadly I'm not a creative type, so no good suggestions for a name for it other than something corny and full of alliteration :p
  8. Do you have any pictures of them in their cocoons? Are they all nesting together somewhere? I'm a bit of a nerd for stuff like this
  9. I think I know a couple people who have used local halls/areas/spaces in London for LANs so may have an ask around and see what comes up. Probably nothing in the long run but if it leads to a potential venue then who knows.
  10. Looks very much to me like they're baby ladybugs/larvae. I often use the fact to amaze people when they appear on our stuff if I'm in a park. Not sure how easy it is to identify species from the larvae, and it could be the angle/zoom but that does look slightly differently proportioned to ones I tend to encounter round here(quite a rare encounter, mind). I'm with Smeagol and letting them be too unless they're being a notable nuisance somehow. I don't believe I'm aware of ladybugs doing any notable damage to useful human things, but again I could be mistaken. EDIT: Angle's a bit different but may be a 7 spotted larvae from a very quick perusal of the below site; http://www.ladybuglady.com/ladybugweb9.htm http://www.ladybuglady.com/7-spotted-larvae.html EDITEDIT: Said page also has an infestation FAQ! A house near wherever they're appearing may be useful for both them and you http://www.ladybuglady.com/infestation.htm
  11. Thought you and dcubed would appreciate this;

  12. Haven't got you or @glen-i on facebook to post/tag you in this very short vine-esque video my mate just drew my attention to but you were the first two people I thought of when I saw it lol;

  13. Yeah I kinda felt that after release but I jumped on the bandwagon rather late on in its life so my expectations had gone down quite a bit by then - for what I did play(for a tenner, too) I quite enjoyed it but I did feel it was a bit too much in places(some aspects of repetitiveness) but I, to quote yourself, really can't be arsed with sticking it out these days. I haven't gamed much at all for a month or two now, I might look to go back to the first for a bit if I can remember how to play smoothly enough. I'd possibly be interested in it from a multiplayer aspect if it has it, considering recently playing Payday 2 a fair few times with a crew of 4 of us online; working to do some of the stuff in a game like Watchdogs with mates could possibly be quite good. However coming back to your own original point this wouldn't be something I adopt straight away necessarily - will wait for user reviews and general opinion then consider it.
  14. Tbh I've no context for reference as I've not played Plague, however I think that dazzybee is possibly referring to the tabletop game of a similar name rather than the original flash game that so many of us will all know and love.

    Destiny

    Not played my PS4 much for a few months now maybe, but work's gonna ease up soon and I'm wondering if it's worth bothering with Destiny again. Is there much new stuff that I've missed in the last few months? Are people still playing? If my mate's about too I'll try and get him back onto it when I am, but I certainly did find a very 'done' feeling of walking away from Destiny. I was nowhere near done, but I realised I wasn't bothered enough to keep on at it, if that makes any sense. I'd totes lap up the next one though, so who knows what I'm talking about.
  16. Was it Madagascar?? Sort of see joke above. Amazed it wasn't already referenced.
  17. I want this guy making games. His design game is spot on. Not necessarily for Nintendo though his style would be best suited there, but yeah, want him making games. How much would it cost to try and get something up around him? It's the sort of thing someone should take a chance on!
  18. Front right of my(parked) car has been clipped by a bus, bus driver lady said they'll probably say it was my fault as too close to an island(I personally didn't think so) - insurance are talking about the car being a write-off either way(over a panel or two). Worst case scenario is a write-off A or B, and claim being settled as my fault. Best case is non-fault and a write-off payment allowing me to keep the car as a cat C/D(cars been in family for years, reliable, low mileage etcetc) which I'm obviously hoping for but just don't need this shit right now -.-
  19. So I saw my ladyfriend this weekend - after a very long week of feeling shit and stressed about it without too much sleep. She came to a friend's thing I lojacked for my birthday on Saturday and I saw her for a couple hours yesterday evening. We're still a pair of fucking idiots. She apparently wanted to talk yesterday, which I completely missed when I was drunk/under the influence on Saturday night, and then neither of us pushed it yesterday so we basically only had a quick conversation for about half an hour because she had to go. We both feel exceptionally similar though. Like...we can and would walk away from this but don't want to, and I find that kinda reassuring that neither of us want to despite the fact we've both totes contemplated it. No compromise on the phone calls, and tbh she's even difficult to have conversation with to express my feelings because they apparently pressure her(and yes, I can see how/why but I still need to express myself, it's not an expectation) and she's also basically admitted that she's quite selfish and will put herself first almost 100% of the time, but she's also learnt a few things about me that she seemed to think otherwise about and I've said we'll just have to work forwards to find our balance. I don't know if it will be enough. I don't know if it'll last going forwards. But I want it to. I want to work at it, and so does she, and we just go from there I guess. She forgot my birthday until the morning and didn't get me a card or owt(not that I really give a shit for cards, but ykno) but we may still do a thing for it soon. She didn't seem to realise she hadn't seen me for 3 weeks, and seemed shocked when I mentioned that it was that long, and that irked me but I guess I know even more so that her concept of time is just shit. I don't want to give up, but I am gonna strike a bit more of a balance going forwards about what I'm going to put in compared to what I was previously, I guess. Just hope it works out. No expectations to see her(apparently once a week may be a bit too much with her placement and needing time to herself to recharge), and I'll pull back on the effort it's costing me for texts when I feel its a drain. I feel weird being in a relationship where I'm NOT making too much effort, but meh, I guess that what we might be. There's currently, imo, a discrepancy between willingness on each side - but as I said, it comes to striking a balance and going from there. When I see her all of this shit just dissolves into nothing, which makes it doubly mad trying to dealing with it in the interim of not seeing each other!
  20. ...it's absolutely cool by me! If you do ever get round to playing any of the games from the series I would actually really really appreciate your opinions on it as a newcomer, even if it's to an aged game!

    Interesting to see we're still relevant on searches though - as I said mostly people here are very lovely(Nintendo sub can get heated, I won't lie, hence why I said to deffo get in touch with me/mods if stuff comes up) but really it's a very unique vibe here I've found of all my years on tinternets and forums. Not sure if that's cos we're mostly British/European or what but yeah, once you get settled in I think you'll very much enjoy it. Please don't let anything that happens put you off without talking to us/me though, I know we've had a few incidents here and there that have made people disappear but it's a grand shame for what's largely a very good, well-knit, and loving community. One that I'd like everyone to feel welcome in and a part of :)

  21. Fairly understandable - tbh if I had to advise people these days I'd probably not, personally, recommend the Wii U unless it was really very close to their tastes. I ended up getting a PS4 in Sept/Oct last year after a long deliberation and seeing what Sony were doing with their business. The irony is that 10-15 years ago I absolutely hated Sony with a passion!! They've really turned themselves around imo tho.

    Also I'd have to ask you to enjoy your last few days on the forum, as I will promptly be banning you at 5pm this Friday afternoon for having never played a Zelda game. Absolutely terrible state of affairs!! Zelda's been quite unique over its years, but I don't know how good the last few offerings truly are/were. It's very difficult to be objective about something you've been attached to for so long - but I absolutely respect that people may not like them, and whilst a lot of Ninty people might not feel the same,...

  22. Watched it last week, mostly enjoyed it - didn't find it as impressive as Civil War or some others though maybe. That could be due to me being more familiar/vested in the X-Men line of stories, so not being as surprised when the films come round. To that credit - I do like how the films sometimes do different things to what's already known/expected(Storm as a horseman blew my mind when I saw the trailer, which whilst I understand has been done here and there wasn't too big a thing previously), and it adds a freshness to things, so I don't get too caught up in the continuity aspects there(though Nightcrawler notably bugged me in this). However one problem I'm having, and I honestly never thought I'd end up saying this - I may be getting superhero film fatigue! I simply just can't always remember what happened with who and where and in what iteration to link everything together each time I see a new one! I naturally like to tie things together like that, but there's just been too much for me now. So yeah, for me, as an X-Men film it was good, few nice little bits here and there too(post creds was excellent as well) - but not sure if I enjoyed it as much as Civil War. Which isn't something I was expecting to come out of it saying.
  23. Kept seeing the ads but not the show - think it's airing on a slightly obscure channel over here(plus, Live TV? pfft, who does that anyone eh!) - so actually very interested! May give it a crack next time I'm at a loss of what to watch. Hadn't realised it was based off a comic book either(thanks @Shorty) which gives me a bit more motivation to watch it!
  24. Before I address this post/topic - can I just say to ANYONE out there who feels discriminated against or uncomfortable about comments relating to a sensitive subject like this, totally get in touch with us or me specifically. We're a wide and varied community, and I don't believe anyone here wants anyone else to feel unwelcome, but I also don't want anyone to feel that way either, so if there's something that does give rise to it - get in touch. To the post/topic! For me @Animal pretty much hit the nail for me with his post. Tbh, I think there's been some jumping on a few things here. I didn't believe there was any malice or ill intent on anyone's part for any of this, neither the original comments nor the creation of this thread. In fact I support the creation of this thread! There's clearly something worthy of a conversation here! I think the comments and feelings have come out of an ignorance, so I think it's a good thing to have a discussion, and actually I would praise @Nuntendo as a new member to the community to try and bring a relevant and worthy discussion out of it. Having a thread to discuss it may be positive in reducing the ignorance than can lead to unintended offence, and help us recognise and avoid it in future. Currently, I haven't a point to contribute outside of that - but I am aware this can be a sensitive topic, and I would encourage anybody who has an issue around things like this to get in touch and raise it with us/me if you're feeling that a line's been crossed, and we'll take things from there. Just want to make sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable here, as we all deserve
  25. Same. Here again the online aspect may give good value to NBA - don't think me or my mates have really ever played an NBA game much, but as we're all PS+ folks we can probably just have a chuckle with it playing against each other whereas it wouldn't phase me much otherwise!
