I think it's good to watch them all, as he almost back references earlier vids in later ones - but it's also building on the 'complexity' of each in some ways due to the games changing/getting more complex(somewhat). I did get OoT and started MQ yesterday, my fucking R button is ONCE AGAIN FUCKING BROKEN(been 'fixed' 3 times) but I've managed to get up to halfway through Dodongo's Cavern so far and have a weird fix that makes it sort of work a little bit for like 5 minutes. Gonna borrow Marcamillian's 3DS to finish this off though I think - gonna need that shield later on, and have died a few times from not having it entirely on demand. Can't believe how much I neglected to use it when I was younger, now.

Only just got round to watching this, thanks for highlighting the recent one @Ashley. Really great vids, nice and succinct and very interesting. Got me super jonesing for Zelda again - thinking I might get back my copy of OoT 3D and finally try to actually complete Master Quest!

@Fierce_LiNk - tell me why I need this game in my life. I've somehow just avoided everything to do with it, except knowing that it's got some hype behind it and there's something about exploration and hoping to name all the things me and my friends find after our mate Darren. That is literally the full extent of my knowledge for this.

Hmm. I mean, I like touch and don't want to lose it, just thinking of parity between touching a pad when using the TV - you aren't looking at the pad so unless there's a visual feedback on the screen of where your finger is etc. The 3DS manages dual screens because the distance your eyes have to travel between the two is so much smaller compared to TV vs Controller(something I didn't truly realise until owning the WiiU) so there's an effect there than I'm worried about, but I also don't want to lose touch input either. I just see it being a much more sort of mobile/on-the-go control method when you're looking at the screen you're touching, than on a TV, if that makes any sense?
-
Given the presumed setup of this as a handheld that docks - I simply think they'll either not go for touch screen gaming(a bit weird/a bit of a shame given it's commonplace in mobile devices now) - or as someone suggests a touch-screen 'bridge' of sorts for between the control ends when you're docked in at home. I'd considered it a few days ago - maybe as a 'dumb' screen of sorts, but then that brings us back into an element of dual screen gaming/touching and taking eyes of the TV similar to WiiU. Yet we have also been told that Breath of the Wild is to be on NX AND WiiU - so will they change up what they're doing with the Gamepad for it, to make a difference to the NX version? As for VC titles I think they're too easy to make money off - so I think it's likely that some big classics will start appearing on this new system too. Not sure I'm going to say they'll carry over from Wii/WiiU generation though.

Incredibly sad news to have lost another member so young and so suddenly. Horrible thing for his family to have gone through

Ahhh right, that makes perfect sense then! Was just a bit of a curveball I didn't understand. Would it be likely that early games might not be as quite up to scratch as later games, due to a possibly weaker chip in the early dev kits, even overcooled? Not that it'd bother me, if anything it's almost a feeling of natural progression. 540p limit for handheld given likely screen size would be ok, would it not? Then maybe the dock is something that can somehow work off the handheld hardware with a GPU/CPU boost and maybe a cooling fan/system to avoid it being under too much pressure etc. It's quite an interesting idea if it works well. Well yeah, I'm still taking it all with a rather large pinch of salt - but it's exciting to speculate! It's invigorated this topic with some pretty good discussions and is getting people excited again. People had been saying for a while that it was difficult to keep thinking/talking about with next to no info - so even if a rumour like this turns out to be dud it'll have got people talking! I imagine there'll be at least some elements of truth inside it, too.

So better, or different, than the X2 that's been referenced? Better is good, different...hmm. Why isn't it an X3, or is it, or what? Bit interesting on them possibly taking a loss or fighting so hard to secure a console deal(especially settling for Nintendo given WiiU's performance) - if it IS at a loss I wonder if they might be doing it at a flat rate loss and then a potential profit per console sold, if that makes any sense. So like...the better the console does the better they do, with an equilibrium number needed to sell to break even or then profit.

What's a Pascal Tegra?
-
Yeah I tried to avoid dropping the 'shreemech' there - I don't know if I remember it 100% but it wasn't exactly delicate either, the power of the flipper gave them quite a bit of air first time I recall seeing it(could, as I said, be mistaken/lightbulb astounded and exaggerated my memory). I used to love Robot Wars for that so much - each series you'd see some revolutionary innovation but then you'd see further evolutions against it - flippers(again, recyclopse in my mind was one of the few to have an actual flipper in S1), SRMs, dual-sided robots/unflippables, crushers/hammers, enhanced armours etc. The evolution and response of it just so appealed to the nerd in me! I kinda still get a similar satisfaction in competitive game evolution too.

@dazzybee - telling someone they're 'clearly a very sensitive soul' after they've already said you miss boundary cues and come over as provocative exactly highlights said behaviour. Ashley has also asked you to consider toning it down. You seem to lack the insight into understanding this - so this is your last warning to be mindful before your posts are edited or deleted or you are potentially banned from the thread. No further discussion on it - it's clear you are not understanding the point being made, and I won't back and forth about it.
-
Yeah Carbide's a bit of a souped up hypnodisc of sorts! Totes agree with you about the Cassius team @Dr\. bob - they were great engineers and one of my favourites, apparently really helpful to others in the pits too. They had recyclopse in the original series iirc, and then as you say Cassius was one of the first to implement a SRM. Unfortunately I was reading recently that the head of the team expressed some serious concerns around safety and failsafe devices, came up against Health and Safety jobsworths who missed the point and after some safety incidents refused to come back to the show unless standards were brought up to scratch, which I'm presuming never occured Bit more here: http://robotwars.wikia.com/wiki/Team_Cassius (not sure if that's the one I originally read)

Thanks wanted to check as I'm gonna sell my friend some PS+ but was thinking about whether she'll be quick enough to get the games for this month! Not saying they're particularly fantastic, but free's free and all that :p
-
I thought I'd posted in response to drahkon, but apparently not! I thought similarly to dazzybee and the Splatoon line - sales do feel like they'd be higher on Wii U because it's more of 'that' sort of game. Yet, again as drahkon/Flink says, the PS4 user base is pretty large and I think Splatoon could definitely find a home there, especially with the better online features. Hell, I'd possibly buy a Mario game on my PS4 just because I could party chat with my mates whilst playing, whilst I can't do that on the WiiU!

What day do the games drop?
-
My mate was round and didn't know it was on, but I was about 20 minutes late in putting on. We both bloody loved it - Nuts was a very interesting bot and it's intriguing seeing some of the newer aspects of robots compared to back in the day - don't think you'd have had something quite as powerful as Carbide back in the day, even Terrorhurtz's hammer looked crazy powerful(if it actuall worked, that is :P). Agree with you about the contestants all being suitably nerdy, but Dara O'Brien was certainly a bit flat. The contrast of the loud/brashness of people like Jeremy Clarkson and Craig Charles compared to the nerdyness and quietness of the pits used to really work for me.

I must admit I don't know her full track record in at all. I've seen stuff from her before that turned out to be on point, though.
-
Why? I've found her to be quite good and insightful into the general industry and Nintendo history which she's clearly passionate about.

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Rummy replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I'm not sure how I feel seeing which of Nintendo's Wii U games are actually sitting higher up in the charts :/ -
They tried it with WiiU and it didn't work, I seriously hope they don't contemplate making such a move with it again. Also Ronnie - history/record shows that despite whatever cool codenames they have for things - they announce a new one with its proper official reveal. Do you really think they're going to do that differently, this time? As Kav says it isn't well known generally, so it isn't any big loss. I do WANT them to stick with NX or a (good)name somehow working that in, but I just doubt they will when it comes down to it; especially if it turns out to be some sort of two-part system.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1&2 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
Rummy replied to Happenstance's topic in Other Consoles
To satisfy Ronnie, it's worse than Nintendo constantly re-hashing all their old games!! I wouldn't bite at the price. I've still got Magnus Peterson's copy of MUA2 for 360 somewhere I think, and tbh if there's little update to this barring graphics then I don't see why I couldn't just whip the 360 out to play if I really wanted to! Does it at least have online co-op? -
I want to say it isn't likely as that isn't Nintendo's usual approach - but who knows, maybe they really are going to be mixing things up!
-
Yeah, it was OP almost in the purest of senses that there was so many more options to balance it. Reduce the 360 as you say(so opponents can sneak behind), reduce the shooting range(so that opponents can mark and take out from a distance), or reduce the damage(so opponents can tank it out) - I don't know if I'm happy with them going for the damage reduction over the others(I'd maybe have opted for a speed and range reduction) but it's still a fair balance that'll help out hopefully. Shame about all the Ana's @drahkon, I'm tempted to play a few vs. AI matches later to give her a spin without affecting a proper team/game.
-
Ohh, you can buy them for 30k? Still much more favourable during splatfests but if it's still an option/opportunity then that's not a problem!
