There's a definite nostalgic Rare feel to this and the voices. The possibilities of modern tech in the hands of devs like that makes me very excited for this - I think it's going to be huger than we might expect.
  3. It's always fun to see speculative claims from you - but what do you base them on? A discrepancy between two different pieces of hardware released at different times that should somehow be relatable because they're from the same manufacturer? Of course this goes into my previous of being in little echo chambers - but the majority of people I know on here didn't buy a PS4 for Fifa or CoD, nor do I see many of the people on my friendslist playing them. Outside of these forums alone I can think of 5 people I know who have PS4s and definitely didn't buy them for Fifa or CoD - 6 or even 7 counting me and then you. Where's the line between casual and hardcore then? What's it make us on here if GAFs of such relevance? Are any of us not hardcore gamers for not being on GAF? Are we casual? But we care about the NX? Seems like rather blurred lines to me.
  4. Is the Slim actually out already? I was seeing adverts on the side of some buses a week or two ago!
  5. Dat FFX laugh doh. Interesting thoughts on XCX @Glen\-i - I loved Xenoblade Chronicles a lot despite never finishing it(still need to actually re-blitz it at some point if I can, just for the story etc). I never picked up XCX because I just wasn't sure about it and it took a bit longer than I'd hoped and my hype died. Hearing your thoughts makes me glad, though the hoarding buyer in me feels like I should still attempt to get it even though I know I'll probably do exactly what you suggest and fall off of it. How much of it would you say you finished? Just story? Lots of collecting/exploring? How many hours would you say it all took you?
  6. Soz man I thought I had actually replied to this! He said it was that sort of thing for a few quids of the amazon - he feels like it did as good as a component does, so...that's the best I can give you in absence of any other comments here! Any real surprise? It's too late in the dead console's life to be trying to get system sellers espesh with NX round the corner - besides which I'd daresay BotW's already done as much system selling as it was going to with what's happened to it(I bought the Wii U knowing I'd get Smash, Zelda, and possibly another Xenoblade even though I never actually bought XCX). I really fucking hope there's a decent print of BotW on Wii U though. If that becomes hard to find too fast people are going to be far more pissed off than I think they'll expect.
  7. Only has to be as awkward as you make it. It sounds like it's not a possibility right now so write it off and carry on as usual. A couple of my good female friends now are actually girls I asked out at some point even if nothing came of it. If anything it makes everything even easier as the awkwardness of not knowing is all out of the way! Don't mention it, don't apologise - just don't think of it as a possibility and carry on as normal. As for not doing it if you didn't think there was a chance - kinda as above sometimes just do it anyway to get it out of the way(obvs don't neccessarily just ask out every girl you meet, but like...if there's any interest on your part do it and get it over with sort of thing).
  8. Is your photobucket broken or something? Just noticed yours and Phube's sigs are displaying photo not found error photo?

  9. Yeah, as it was a point being made that they have mindshare - but you have to think that we're in little echo chambers and are far more likely to be following and paying attention to these things than many more people at large. To base too much on GAF is very silly as both Glen-I and Serebii have said, and tbh even basing things on us here is still going to be pretty unrepresentative of what I believe to be the gaming market at large.
  10. I had at least 3 gamers that I considered as more traditionally Nintendo gamers asking me about when the WiiU was happening after it was already released. That really opened my eyes to some more of what Nintendo dropped the ball on at the time. Re: pricing, they gotta go low now imo. £200-250 at most; PS4s will be posing some competition with xmas, new models, and price cuts on old ones etc. EDIT: Ha! I see @killthenet already basically said the same but better, great minds ! The only other alternative if the price is high as far as I can see is to really push the angle of this being both a console to play at home(and why you should do so) AND a console to play on the go(and why that's better than your phone 3ds etc).
  11. Think one of the Zelda pages I follow on facebook shared it, actually chuckled out loud when I saw it because of the Mario connection and obvious current frustration. One positive to take at least is that some of these pics/gifs arising are pretty amusing so at least we can still laugh while we're waiting endlessly for the news!
  12. I watched it, was ok. Not the greatest, maybe not the worst. I don't think I kept up properly with the last series, and there's definitely signs of age there; but it wasn't terrible. They went with an idea for the episode and really ran with it as Dwarf does - just wasn't entirely my cup of tea. Got a few chuckles at least. I was more excited for the two older episodes after it tbh :p
  13. Well I do have to agree that's somewhat re-assuring, but I still really struggle to believe it will come to fruition as envisioned just because I feel there's been such letdown in the past. In the positive though I think having had Ubisoft/Yves involved so much with Wii U when it was coming it gives a lot more weighting to his words, I just hope it's going to turn out true and good for us - this console could be more powerful than a PS4 and XBone put together, but if the online infrastructure isn't there to an acceptable level I probably wouldn't even touch it with a stick. I foresee the only exception to that for me is if it's absolutely banging as a handheld with a decent amount of content on it. Meanwhile, in other news...
  14. Oh yeah, I mean it's possibly quite good but it's just so much of an echo of the Wii U - moreso really because it's Ubisoft again(v.enthusiastic about it, as already mentioned by others, aiming to support etc). I could probably tell you the same things they're telling you - but will it really count for anything when it all comes down to it? It just all feels a little bit too familiar, but I'm hoping as much as I can that it won't actually end up continuing to be so.
  15. Absolutely agree. Make something good enough that it speaks for itself with very little need for exaggeration. I hope in line with the same, as I said before, that they'll be honest and upfront about delays etc. and just tell it like it is, acknowledging the current frustration of the fans.

Thanks @Deathjam that's really useful. I'm away all weekend but I might give this some time in the evenings next week with an OW mixup. The more I stay in and play games the more money I save and the more games I can then buy to play!!

240 or 250? Or did you mean 340/350? Is there any way for me to get 310-320+ gear atm without the RoI expansion and not doing KF raid? As said I'm getting tempted, probs wouldn't for at least a week or two just to get the money together for it as I haven't planned for the spend; got a mate asking if I'll get it and trying to tempt @Frag Grimes back into it too. Whatever happened to @Nintendo Fan too? Me and him were tearing it up a bit just before I stopped playing. EDIT:Godammit I can never rmemebr Ninty K's bloody forum name! I got him!
  18. Coming in standard Rummy for all those who've had/played this on the PS4 - why should I get it? Slightly inspired by Nando's excellent thread about whether gamers have gotten too picky over in General Gaming I started to peruse the cheapest offerings that CEX have on the PS4 at the moment - I've seen that I could actually pick this up for a rather measly £8 pre-owned! The question is - I know little to none about it, so tell me; why, if at all, should I? I presume also on the price level it's a very much 'play once' game with little re-playability maybe outside of trophies?? Doesn't actually bother me as it seems about short enough(8-15 hours on HLTB?) for the price that I'd probably lend it around my local PS4 crew once I'm done(and maybe even make back its cost in pints!). So. Tearaway Unfolded. Why? Why not? Talk to me.

Here's my 'worry' as it were - I didn't do KF much and I think my light level was last at 302 - if I get RoI(or hell, even if I don't for a bit) - how much am I going to struggle getting my light level up to levels like you guys atm? I mean 317 to 336 in a day sounds quite a healthy and re-assuring jump; what content's it being done off of? If I can do it off the stuff I haven't touched at all(and cope with such) then I'd be tempted to do that for a week or so then get RoI when I hit maybe a certain LL or something.
  20. To be excited or think anything of this Ubisoft view/statement seems strange to me - this just feels exactly the same as the Wii U did. If anything that naturally actually makes me more worried of seeing history completely repeat itself again and the NX be as much of a flop as the Wii U has been. I'm really hoping it *won't* be the case but I just feel like we've seen Nintendo repeat the same mistakes over and over that it's almost to be expected now :/
  21. I think I had much more limited access to games as a kid - even though I'd get birthday/xmas money I think I was only ever allowed to spend it on one game each time; that kinda forced me to play the crap out of what I had in addition to learning to love them too(even the poor choices made sometimes :p). A lot of my influence back then for what I'd buy tended to be reviews in magazines such as ONM or obvious titles like Mario/Zelda etc. As I've gotten older and gotten more money, I've been able to spend more and buy more - but as peeps here and the video guys mention time has now become a harder to find. I'll tend to only buy games at a good price(still gotta think about money, and saving 5-10 each time can add up eventually!), and if it's a game I'm not sure about I'll usually check with folks here rather than review sites of metacritic etc. The only reviews I tend to put good stock/faith in are the N-Europe ones(and I really like the summary points/scores). Yet despite saying I struggle to find time to play a game - I do find myself not wanting to buy short ones. Like...I feel like I'm not getting my money's worth. It's a silly mentality I know, but one I find it hard to break out from. I'll usually kinda feel like I want at least 10ish hours out of a game. Yet having said that I know I've had great experiences with games like Journey, Portal etc similar to the guys in the vid! So...I guess I'm somewhat a little picky, though not as much as some, and it's potentially going to make me miss out on experiences unless I get some compelling evidence/convincing from someone otherwise. All of this now makes me wanna try and save up some money and go bargain hunting for cracking ol' preowned titles in CEX or something. I recall when I got my 360 there was such a wealth of a back catalogue and some games could be picked up for dirt cheap on Play.com - that gave me some experiences I wouldn't have had otherwise!
  22. Quite surprised by the amount of Sonic fans here! I was always a Mario boy - in fact one of the earlier games I can think of that I was cutting my teeth on was Super Mario Land on my cousin's(and later our own) Gameboy. Then we had a SNES, which we eventually got SMW for - I'd also played SMB3 on holiday or somewhere iirc. Few years later All Stars hit and I got to experience all these old Mario experiences I never actually had had(SMB1, 2, 3 and LL). Cue Yoshi's Island when it came too. SM64, MK64 etc. I was Nintendo through and through until I bought a crystal Xbox back in 2004/05. Never owned anything Sega, but I did get the Sonic Mega Collection on the Xbox....still preferred Mario to it at the end of the day.
  23. I'd probably stick current gen too, as I'd have the memories of all the old games(plus I don't play them) - so I'd go for a PS4 and see it forwards. Nostalgia is very strong and it'd break my heart losing all my old things, but I don't really use them to forge new memories or experiences so it's just holding on for the sake of it really! If I could only have the experience of one console left in my mind...hmm. Maybe the SNES's era.
  24. I've not used one of those HDMI adapters but my mate has one - I'll ask him his opinion on it and let you know if he gets back to me.
  25. Gah! Just realised yesterday was Sunday and I was actually totally about and should have thought and tried to do the tourney! Too many late nights and frying my brain :p Sadly I'm away this weekend but I'd like it if we could try and enter for at least one - just to see how we go. Can we get anyone interested for the last one? I'm assuming there's another after this Sunday, right?
