  1. Hmm. Constantly tempted. The demo never went beyond just using earth so the upgrading thing is interesting. How much time would you say you've put in so far @Tales, and any issues bugging you about it at all? The demo mostly focused on building with a tad bit of exploring to recruit a dude. Nothing too much on fighting off heavy attacks on the town or anything, mostly just teaching about the range of building/rooms etc. EDIT: Remembered one of my other main issues- text size is terrible on this! I don't know why they go all HD then go for miniscule text like I spent my time sat right up close with my nose to the TV. Admittedly I may be exaggerating slightly but even a 32" at a meter or two is hard to read for me on this.
  2. My understanding is that one is Primary and you can have at least a second, but as Shorty says Flink and Eenuh already have the setup and make it work so best to check with them. I do recall FLink say it was possible to play two people online via the same PS+ tho when it was in relation to Star Wars or so?
  3. Yeah pretty much. I've taken a rather lax attitude to the thread going off-topic because of the epic lack of anything new to really discuss - though I note a few points have been thrown in such as sketches etc and if anyone feels actual genuine NX discussion is getting drowned just give a shout and we'll try to get it back on track! Such a broad topic a lot can be made relevant to it(such as discussion on TVs!) Yeah I thought this was pretty much one of the actual consistent things most people seem to be expecting of it. It's certainly a good idea - just need execution of the system as a whole to be done well, in addition to ensuring there are as few limitations as possible caused by the approach. Sounds re-assuring atm though.
  4. Can you do that game-specifically or is it a system wide thing you'd have to change every time? Dunno how I missed this post earlier but I certainly had a similar issue regarding key bindings(all felt a bit strange to me).
  5. It'd be one of the more sensible options to try to attempt to get a good chunk of the market again though - if they can test the waters of a decent OS/online infrastructure with NX and contemplate competing with the next gen PS5/XBTwon on the same sort of playing field - what wouldn't work? If they came absolutely on par for everything they'd be giving a tough run on the competition. /pipedreams
  6. I personally never noticed those holes - but they are quite glaring but then again; you can't progress so surely you'll find some help somewhere(fortune teller maybe?). I recall finding the ice rod and medallions simply exploring/thinking they were places I could go look. You're quite handheld to Ether, and you can iirc see the Bombos stone/tablet, maybe Quake's missable but you'd probably get it by wondering what's up there in the dark world as I did. As for running out of magic - isn't it possibly just the same as constantly dying/running out of ammo on an old boss? You go off and stock up before coming back!
  7. You know I recall thinking the few NES VC titles I had looked a bit dull/washed out but I never made a connection to it being a system wide thing at the time. Strange to think you'd kill the vibrancy that made these games/Nintendo what they were! As said for someone supposedly so faithful to recreating the original experience that seems a bit strange to me.
  8. Certainly found myself agreeing. I still enjoyed the video as it was - but really it seemed more to be a video about his new dungeon analysis layout schematic rather than enough about the Oracles. Given the sheer breadth of stuff the Oracles brought to the series together(the link ins, items, story, action-er 'vs' puzzle-er approach) and items I would have liked a lot more focus on some of that really. Thought there was actually going to be a second episode follow-up to this with more actual focus on the games. Also, dare I ask, why LttP would be the worst? I don't think it offers particularly better or worse than LA at a minimum.
  9. What were your(and others) thoughts @Josh64? I left the demo last night(thought it was rather comprehensive, wondering when it was going to end!) - ofc I'd had to have left it basically at a bit just before it DID end, but it didn't save all my progress anyway so I quickly re-did some stuff and wrapped it up. I think I like it. Mostly due to the building nature - kind curious as to where it'll go next, what the difficulty will be like throughout, and how generally the 'levelling' system is tied to the building of the town's things. Would be interesting to see how tools go next and further exploration and building after that too. It's got a fairly good humour to it so far that I've enjoyed - but I'm not sure how I feel about it all round. The control/camera feels a bit weak at times, and I end up placing stuff not always where I want which is frustrating. Jumping up/out of places more than 2 blocks high is a bit annoying sometimes too(dug a hole then struggled more than I'd have liked getting out). I reckon it's something I'll def consider picking up when it's a bit cheaper maybe though.
  10. Is the £150 deal all done or is it still possible to get anywhere?
  11. Are you for srs? I'm tempted to buy a second one just because the deals are so bloody insane right now!
  12. I'm a PS4 lad @flameboy and I'd be interested depending when it is etc if it's for the MM. I'm still trying to figure out atm if I can make it up to Manc for the event the guys are doing up there too tho.

    Destiny

I tried getting into it again on Monday, just decided to faff with bounties and kill some taken invasions/champions on Venus - using 3oCs etc and the FUCKING THING disconnected me just after like an hour or two as a champion/ultra was done and I think I saw an exotic engram drop and I just decided to ragequit the whole thing but yeah - are server issues common now or anything? I, strangely, found it a bit weird/clunky/slow going back to. I dunno if that's just cos the only other thing I've played recently is overwatch or what but hmm. Not sure if I'll get back into the Destiny slog at the current price without mates planning to do the same. Also, no matter how hard I google or try to find the answer I just simply cannot - if I do NOT purchase RoI but try to decrypt engrams etc(such as blues) without RoI will they decrypt as before or will they be likely to decrypt higher with the new stuff? Everything just exclusively references RoI but I dunno if that's because it hasn't been tested/tried without or what and it's really annoying me cos I don't wanna waste time trying if it's not gonna do anything for me! (basically I wanna play and up my light a bit to see if I'm happy to get back into it without actually buying RoI first. Current thinking is wait a few months and buy it for maybe half price in a sale at xmas or some shit iono)
  14. Don't matter none without the camera though, I take it? I'll have to try and pick it up next time I actually go down CEX way.
  15. No worries! I just wasn't sure if you'd looked into the adapter side of things, besides which I never knew it'd be as easy on 10 as Londragon said! I'd probably suggest ebay or so for the Bluetooth adapter - but may be worth checking with @londragon on his advice?
  16. Niiice! Think I'll download/take for a spin tonight! Anyone know how big the demo is?
  17. Not 100% but saw that advert on the TV so it's gotta be coming sometime not too far away I imagine. I had a quick Wiki perusal that suggested it's coming to the UK late this year(we're pretty much there now) and to the US early 2017. Also I do believe that Trinity from The Matrix is in the new season. Other than that I've not read or looked into much as I don't want to accidentally spoil myself or anything. Very excited though. Whilst reading I saw that it was apparently Channel 4's highest viewed show since 1992, too!
  18. Thanks @Glen\-i(actually can't thank atm for some reason). I think what I'll try to do is see if I can re-play Xenoblade but with cheats or something to blitz it and refresh it in my head as I can't face the grindy times of it(not that it was particularly grindy, mind, but I don't know when/where I'll find the time otherwise) and then see about maybe jumping onto XCX if I find it at an acceptable price. I did find myself doing a lot of exploring/sidequesting collections in Xenoblade but I suppose it might be a little different being forced to do it, rather than just happening to otherwise. Thanks again for the views!
  19. But what about the butter??

  21. As far as I'm aware "this message board's definition" doesn't exist in such a context and has led to this current discussion as the point/view was trying to be clarified. I think as time has shown, the definition of the lines of hardcore/casual etc have been and probably always will be rather blurred especially in a constantly changing landscape of gaming. Plus a lack of any solid or official decision - what authority exists to make it? Mostly due to all of that, I don't like the terms of words. They do have a place sometimes, but often it's a difficult line to draw. Would I consider someone who's playing 100+ hours of Candy Crush a month on a consistent basis casual? Probably not. Someone who's playing something closer to 10-30 hours? Maybe so. I don't think the game in particular should matter, rather more the gamer's intents and passions etc. Yet whilst I say that - Candy Crush does pop into my head as more 'casual' than most things you'd find on a console. Would this have been the same 10, 20, 30 years ago? Was there a point where the real hardcore would have been PC gamers as opposed to console gamers, or handheld gamers? Inb4 PCMR. What of someone putting in the same amount of time as the 'hardcore' candy crusher; but across 10-20 different games? Of course Ronnie did address that earlier in calling them 'hardcore' in terms of the games, but casual on the more general level - but that's exactly the problem really. It's saying they're essentially both and keeping them lines blurred! Saying GAF's hardcore; does that imply we are or we aren't? It's all just too binary. (Also totes for the record if this was anywhere else I'd be saying for it to be getting more back on topic than it currently is - but with lack of NX news for discussion it's a bit difficult and I can see a tangential relevance to it in terms of market etc; depending on how/where it goes)
  22. I think ultimately it's very clear that you're just exceptionally hardcore at being casual @Pestneb. Or maybe exceptionally casual at being hardcore? Either way, it's very clear. VERY. CLEAR. (also that totes made me think of this webcomic about type As and Bs)
  23. Absolutely fair enough, just wasn't sure if you'd look into the other ways. Ignore me!
  24. Don't hold me to this(especially as I don't know Windows 10) but I believe the devices are just bluetooth and with a cheap bluetooth dongle/adapter(or, if you already have bluetooth, just that) you should be able to find something out there to make the pads work with the computer. Is it a PC or laptop as the latter is likely to already have a bluetooth adapter in it?
  25. And of course only part quoted my point and ignored the 5 examples of non-regular N-E members I mentioned, as well as discounting himself. I think it's clear where this 'conversation' is going - pretty much nowhere and yet wildly off the already off topic as half the points are ignored Didn't we have some sort of casual vs hardcore thread somewhere before anyway?
