  1. Interesting to see so much activity in here again! Was wondering if anyone still played or had burnt themselves out on it. I'm thinking with Xmas coming and the few quite days/times I might have at home this could be an ideal sort of single player thing that might be idea for some xmassy game feels. Shame I didn't think about it sooner - I imagine this update is going to push prices back up again! I'll see where my finances are soon though and pick it up maybe.
  2. Did someone recently have the random ejecting issue? Frag Grimes is having it at the moment - he says he's done some fix involving tightening a screw but the PS4 still keeps randomly ejecting his discs and turning on at all sorts of times. Anyone know more info about it, and a potential fix that won't be too much work short of buying a new one?

If you're off around Christmas I know Marcamillian's going to be aboutish and at least Frag and my mate Brokegod. My work's going to be slow/quiet so I can probs do bits at home or just take the non-national-holiday days off too - I'd definitely not mind going a bit mental on a long OW bender a day over the holidays if you/anyone else fancies!
  4. Yeah MilaGi said you play it quite a bit on PC so I was jokingly thinking we'd coax you over to the PSN side - didn't think it'd actually happen though! Hopefully you get on with on console; having the company will help I imagine! Anyhow I see you're in the whatsapp now so you'll pick us up from there! What else you going for PS4 wise, and what spurred the decision to purchase(other than just the tight black friday deals)?

On PS4? It's all dependant, really. @Mr\-Paul may be good people to answer the question though as they've gotten into it more recently. I wouldn't have judged Eenuh's performance last night as bad at all; but that could also relate to the role/character being played. Not saying that in any way as a judgement to Eenuh, mind! Mercy's a good character to get into as a beginner(and useful, and underplayed by others imo) and you'll still keep learning as time goes on and you get used to more of the game's mechanics etc. I find your timings on certain things can tighten up, if that makes sense. The one good thing - there's no 'time advantage' to having played the game other than simply being a bit more experienced. Even high level players, as many of us seem to encounter, can be absolute fucking idiots. Hell...I'm like level 130 or something and I know I've still got massive gaps in my playstyles. Despite that - I've played 80+ hours already checking my stats. Every time I think about my gaming time at the moment - I think about Overwatch. It's a game you might have a 'quick game' on but end up on for a while. It's better with company, but still enjoyable without. Ofc, there's no real single player so it's all online multiplayer, but I think with picking 6/22ish heroes per match for your team, against 6/22 heroes on the other team, and how people play all those different characters and how the interactions go - the level of variety is potentially huge although sometimes maybe subtle(obvious strategies and plays evolve for certain characters but, as with any game like this, the meta slowly evolves too). They're still releasing content too. We just got a new character like a week or two ago. We got a new map. We got new modes. I think there's certain characters that are easier or harder to 'git gud' with; but I also think that's depending on you. I see people play some of my favourite characters worse than me, but they kick the shit out of ability with my less favoured characters. Sometimes there's factors out of your control that are frustrating(teammate choices etc) but again that's something that can be negated by playing with other people. I play fairly regularly with 4 of my mates, and then you've got all the N-E folks here too. I'm always happy for folks to jump in with folks and I've had some really nice sessions with Emerald Emblem on occasion. I'm obviously very much in love with this game. Sure, there's a chance it might not be the sort of game for you, but I think with it going for £25-30 reportedly atm that you should take a chance and get it for yourself as an early present now :p

How many PS4 players do we actually have now? I'd love to try and get a 12-man custom together a day when everyone's around(as I've said repeatedly elsewhere lol). Shorty Daft Dan Eenuh Shiekah Me MiLagi Emerald is 8 alone(folks I've played with/seen online recently). Drift? Zell? Flink? Peeps? Guy? Mr-Paul? Anyone else? Is James from the Whatsapp on here, or a mutual friend? I've also got Frag Grimes(Psychick-Youth on psn), Marcamillian, and two of my other mates who are on fairly regular and would join any gaps we have I imagine!
  7. Peepsworth! I was going to joke to MilaGi(I think) to pester you into getting a PS4 and OW and joining the console master race but he informs me you quite possibly already have?!!? Get me added up on PSN - Rumdumcious and get someone to get you in on the Bro-verwatch whatsapp group!!

Unless this is all just a cruel joke. Then I'll go cry in the corner instead :'(.

Glad you had fun! I was a bit off last night(and distracted, noticed I wasted a rez or two of yours so my apologies for that) - you were a pretty decent Mercy considering how you were saying you'd felt about the game so far though! I probs won't be back on til Sunday or so but if you see me on feel free to join or send message/invite!
  9. I was just sitting here, not going home, and suddenly a thought almost blew my mind... If Yooka-Laylee is on this on launch, it'd be a big selling point for me. I was chatting to Shorty/a few OW guys earlier about how single-player doesn't capture me as much; but I think that's more on a console/TV sort of side of things. If I could be taking those experiences portably with me(or even just around the house) then I can see myself doing a lot more in the way of playing through things like that. Playtonic/Team17 don't seem to have said anything on plans from the very minimal googling I've done(even in fact saying there wasn't going to be any NX version) but if that gets dropped as a launch title along with Mario at the rumoured £200ish price mark for the system well I can see myself dropping dime on the thing even if the online isn't up to par.
  10. Damn, I was very tempted to make the same joke!
  11. Personally too old and burnt out to remember all of it well enough to make a comprehensive post - though the best thing the Wii ever did for me was make me join the forums here so I don't think I'll ever forget it for that I'd certainly be interested in hearing from some of our more recent regulars who weren't as around back in the Wii days. Any thoughts @Glen\-i? @GenericAperson? @Nuntendo @The Cape if you're still around? @ProbablyAFairFewIForget - not sure who else we've maybe acquired since you guys last did a big forum round table!
  12. Absolutely the same for me; with a number of ports moving Switchwards(or this to PS4 etc) I'm getting tempted to trade my WiiU version in now for the credit and use it later when it's released/a bit cheaper.
  13. Super Mario...Switched! In a revolutionary twist on the classic Mario theme this time it's all be Switched. This time you play as Bowser, going about your business on your quest to kidnap the princess, but every corner you turn...she's in another castle! Where IS Laura Kate Dale, and just how soon can you shut her up?? Coming in July 2020 - 2 months before the Switch stops production
  14. Starting to wonder if I should take half my WiiU games for trade at CEX for credit now....then re-buy them all on Switch when the time comes :')
  15. I tried getting into Bioshock a few times myself - just for some reason can't manage to stick it out and see it through. I think it's the general feel of the game just doesn't blow me away and it did feel a bit abstract/lost at times. I'm aware of the some of the story/plot twists now so I don't think I'll ever get back to it. Weirdly I didn't particularly mind the gameplay, I just think maybe it was the pacing of it that didn't sit good with me?
  16. Anyone know anything about the US New £DS deal and if anywhere's doing similar for UK?
  17. Haha, loving the Sexy Finn and Mario brothers! Actually slightly loving the idea of letting people make my choices for the night, kinda like they're the player and I'm an NPC. It could go terribly, but I might actually do it in conjunction with something costumey! I've got a Jake onesie ordered but I don't think it'll arrive(looked in a Primark last night, no joy) so I may end up just pirating it or something in that end. Think I'll attempt to raid fancy dress places on Saturday morning or something with Marcamillian(also in a similar position to me). I'd have loved if I'd given it enough time and thought to try and throw one of Winston's explorer outfits together from Overwatch.
  18. Haha, amusingly I think the birthday girl would actually really appreciate the joke in it; but I'm not prepared to go gimping in Bermondsey on a Saturday night just quite yet! Indiana Jones did come into my mind first but then I also thought too many other people might do it - and better than me too!
  19. Hey all, Sposed to be going to an 'Adventure' themed fancy dress(urgh) birthday this weekend but I'm really struggling for ideas and I'm fast running out of time! I was going to be super basic and just get an Adventure Time onesie(both warm AND practical!) but all delivery estimates for the onlines is basically hitting christmas timings already. Anyone know where you can get an Adventure Time/Jake onesie on the high street? Alternatively - anyone got any good ideas for 'adventure' that's cheapish quick and easy??
  20. Is he an orang-utan by any chance? Did you seriously just try and make that point completely un-ironically?? I thought just a few posts ago you were 'saying the same thing' as H-o-T when he was expressing his concerns on how much content for Switch will actually be new compared to re-utilised Wii U content!!

Not sure if I'm in or out yet this eve; but if you're about feel free to send me a PSN message(will get it on my phone even if out) and I'll let you know what I'm upto. I imagine even if I pop out I'll be on after 9/10ish, but even if I'm out and you're looking for folks to play with I'll give my mates a heads up if you want to join them

I've not personally but I saw Daft mention his own re-bind and I know Marcamillian's moved his to similar specifically for Lucio(can I just in Overwatch's favour mention how excellent it is that they allow individual character customisations and bindings rather than a global override) and from the few times I've spectated him I can certainly say he probably moves better than I do with Lucio. I'm personally still probably too noob at wall running to properly think about managing both that AND shooting so haven't changed the binding yet - but I might soon. I'm just worried I'll end up confusing myself when it comes to jumping with the other usual suspects; but we'll see! Given he doesn't have a gun change I even contemplated putting it on the left/movement stick, but I can see it causing trouble if I'm not co-ordinated enough.

I swapped mine to a left stick click ages ago - was worried at first I might misclick too often and mixup and was also tricky when I kept thinking a stick click could help me sprint(or something like that, thinking Destiny in my head) but the only time I ever have an issue and I can't figure out why is probably with Torbjorn. I swear I never or I rarely notice if I do misclicks with any other character; but with him I end up waving my gun or my turret or rather unthreateningly swinging a fucking wrench around just in front of the enemy until they shoot me in the face.
  24. It's an interesting question for a world full of information. I don't actively seek news much tbh; it tends to occur and come across my radar. Conversations with friends/colleagues, relevant issues that have imo affected or been related to me, what comes up on social media(facebook, essentially), what comes up here, what I see on The Wright Stuff's daily paper review(sometimes I go work late and watch this...fuck you and your judgement!), what happens to be on the TV news when I occasionally have it on myself and don't change off, or what happens to be on TV news when I'm at my parents'/other people's house, papers on the occasional time I take a train, local news, BBC breakfast on occasion too. I question what I can where I can or take things with a pinch of salt if viable. Normally if there's a news story I find particularly intriguing or interesting I'll google it and read the reporting from multiple sources to try and get an broader idea of the story and what angles different outlets might take as well and trying to see consistency(or lack thereof) in the reporting. Tbh I think when something particularly 'newsworthy' comes up on my radar(which can be from the simplest or smallest of comments from someone) I'll google it then hit the news tab and read 2-5 maybe articles on it to see what they're all saying. I have some 'preferred' news outlets in such a case but I still remain fairly cautious/sceptical about their angles and try to digest things myself with that healthy dose of apprehension towards just the words I'm reading. Assuming any of that makes any sense to anyone else. There's no real need to attempt to try and follow news these days though - the digital age of data and information almost means that news will follow you, whether you like it or not!

One of the things I find most annoying as support(ie Mercy as you suggest @Alak) is that people don't think about dropping back for healings - and if you're not in VC or so to tell them then you're kinda stuck. I think the game doesn't do the best of jobs in informing you of a.) when you're low on health or b.) informing you of where support healers/shielders/boosters etc are. AS support you can see teammates who need help; but as a teammate who actually needs help it isn't always too easy to identify who or where the support is that might be able to provide that - I'd like to think things'd be different if it was! EDIT: P.S biggest thing to forget about Mercy is how dope her gun actually is; don't worry to switch up when things are quieter than boosts/heals! I'm sure someone else here could post you clips of a damn good Mercy play or two.
