Happenstance

Not having played much recently I thought I might try and catch up on Switch stuff after having it put away for quite a while. Considering ordering one of these, any thoughts on which? Link’s Awakening Pokemon Sword/Shield Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Skyward Sword

I think Mass Effect Legendary Edition is the only game released in 2021 that I actually bought. I don’t buy nearly as many games as I used to. Still though, the Mass Effect trilogy was always one of my absolute favourite gaming experiences so it probably would have been my game of 2021 regardless. I was thinking about ordering Hitman 3 earlier with the Epic Store coupon so I might be able to add that.

Personally I found I didn't really get it until I tried it properly myself. Using voice commands has become such second nature to me now that I've tried to turn lights on in rooms we haven't setup yet using my voice. Grouping sets of lights together is great as well. I had accent lighting setup previously for things like watching movies but I didn't use it as much until I set everything up how I wanted it in a group and tied it to a voice command. Granted now Alexa fucked it all up so I don't have that group but that's what I hope to fix by switching to Google.

The live action movie was pretty terrible. Good for a laugh though.

At the moment I've only really got various lights setup and basic control of the TV. I'd like to do more though eventually. One thing I will do soon though is switch from the Amazon Echo to Google Home. The Echo just seems to be getting worse with groups not working and the constant "by the way" comments after you try to use it.

Yeah we all try to encourage her as much as possible and I’m always the one who gets her art supplies for birthdays etc. I can’t wait to see what she does in the future.

Hope everyone had a good day. I spent it with my family at home and mostly played with my niece and nephew. Favourite present is obviously the drawing of Spider-Man my niece did for me. Very jealous of her talent!

Brotherhood is roughly the same up to about ep 15 if I remember right then diverges from the original and follows the manga story.

Ah right. I’ll definitely recommend watching Brotherhood as well at some point. The original is good but Brotherhood is amazing.

As we’re coming up to Christmas I thought it’d be interesting to hear about everyone’s favourite gaming Christmas memories. Plus the forum is so damn quiet today, I need conversation! Mine would have to be getting a Gameboy Colour, Pokemon Blue and a copy of the guide for Christmas. I probably said two words to my family for the next few days after that. I just remember lying on the couch and blasting through that game. I struggle with any Pokemon game after that but that first experience was amazing and is the reason why I tried most generations to regain that feeling (even if I never did enjoy the games the same way again).

Just finished season 2. Fun overall but I definitely feel like this will be a show I appreciate more at the end once everything has come together. There are so many moving parts and political aspects that go on which are obviously seeding things for future seasons that it can feel a bit of a waste of time in short seasons so I have to remind myself that it’ll come together (hopefully!) by the end. As usual this has stoked my interest in the Witcher again so I’m gonna go try and finish the first book. Had to laugh today when I got a warning on the Kindle app that I’d downloaded it to too many devices, showing just how many times I’ve tried to go back to that first book and never finished it.

Yeah I watched 4 of the episodes today and am enjoying it again. Glad to see Ciri is getting better as well. I wasn’t a massive fan of the portrayal in the first season.

Yeah I quite enjoyed them. Some good mirror universe stories that I think are supposedly still going on so I need to look into that. No festive themed stuff at the moment. I've just been finishing off a few Star Trek actual books then it's back to the X-Men backlog. Still filling in those gaps slowly but surely.

So many Spider-Man No Way Home spoiler videos appearing on my YouTube recommendations today. Feels like I’ve already seen the majority of the movie just from the cover images.

Urgh…..yep definitely feeling rough. I just love throwing up in the morning while also feeling too hot and too cold.

It's tempting because I do like Analogue but I never really was a handheld gamer and don't have many carts still in my retro collection to use on it...

How much is it again?

As I said in the good stuff thread I got mine this morning. Booked yesterday and got an appointment for 9.10am this morning. No walk ins queueing there when I arrived but there did seem to be a sign so I assume they would be allowed later. Everyone I've spoken to though who's had the booster seemed to suffer after 24 hours regardless of if they did the first two times so we'll see what happens with me tomorrow. Might have to stay off work.

I managed to book on the website yesterday before they announced that it was now open to over 30s so I think I got lucky.

That's my booster done then. Thankfully managed to get an appointment and there didn't seem to be walk ins at this site today which sped things up.
