Day 17 - Racing Game Im not really a big fan of racing games so this was harder. I was gonna go with something like Trackmania or Forza Horizon 4 but I think I’ll go with something I enjoyed playing a lot with friends as a kid, Speed Freaks on the PS1.

My projector screen has been held up by adhesive hooks for the last year because the only wall it could go on is too weak to screw or drill anything into and it fell down again yesterday for the third time this summer so I’ve finally given up. It’s a shame as I loved the size but to be fair not being able to use it on really hot days because of the heat it pumps out and needing to upgrade to 4K for the next gem consoles made the decision a bit easier. Anyway, I’ve grabbed myself a 55” LG 4K tv, a new stand for it to get it a bit higher against the wall (on the same wall as the screen was so can’t mount it for the same reasons) and a couple of 4K blu rays to test it all out.

Looking forward to hearing what you think of it. I'm still tempted to get it down the line.

Typical, just as I'm happy with my retro collection display my projector screen falls down for the 3rd time this summer. The wall isn't strong enough for proper hooks so I have to use adhesive ones and they just aren't staying up so I'm gonna have to rearrange everything and now use this as a spot for a new TV to go with my current consoles. Poor Mega Drive and SNES, you can never catch a break.

Day 16 - Most Interesting Collectables Ok, maybe these aren't the most interesting but they basically made the game worth playing so I'm going to say the orbs in the Crackdown series

Day 15 - Best Story I think I'll also go with Persona 4, although the original and not Golden. I think Golden is probably the better game overall but I don't think many of the scenes they added really brought much to the overall story. Plus I think the original had the better voice actors which helps. Anyway, the murder mystery was a brilliant backdrop for the almost slice of life side stories from the game. I've got to give a shout out to Mass Effect 2, Walking Dead Season 1 and To The Moon as well though, they were definitely in consideration.

I'm trying to look for a new job at the moment as I don't think my job at the school is all that secure these days. I think if they decide they need to start saving some money then my job as one of 2 IT guys is expendable.

I've started that Nitro book. Up to chapter 9 so far. It seems ok but I definitely prefer the Death of WCW book I mentioned. This one seems a lot broader while the death book (as I shall now call it) talks a lot more about the week to week, the wrestlers, storylines and interesting stories from the time.

Yeah I ended up watching a load of those a few months ago.

I only have a cheapy helmet at the moment for my bike so decided I wouldn't mind something a bit fancier with lights on for when it starts getting a bit darker and I need to ride at night. That and I'm just a sucker for new tech.

Are they through Google photos? If so you may not have the permissions set for others to see them as I'm getting a warning icon instead of the usual error.

I haven't bought Lego in years but I'm always tempted by the massive sets. For me the fun would be putting it all together, once that parts done I don't know how interested I would be in displaying it.

You should revive the cooking thread. I get tempted every now and again to bake or cook but being so incredibly lazy I haven’t gotten around to it yet...

I bought an e-bike during lockdown so I’ve been enjoying going out on rides with that. Nice to be able to get out of the house again. I’m planning on using it to commute the 10 miles to work occasionally when I’m unfurloughed (should be mid August). I’m also contemplating using it to go “bikepacking” and taking a tent somewhere to camp but that’s still in the early stages of looking into everything.

I see face masks have now been made mandatory to wear in shops from 24th July or you get fined. Baffling why they didn’t make this part of the initial easing of the lockdown rules.

Day 14 - 2D Platformer I had a NES first and loved Mario 1 & 3 but when I got my Mega Drive later on Sonic 2 just devoured my time and I think that’s when you could say I properly got into video games. Sonic 2 will usually feature on a list of my favourite games ever, not just platformers. Might have to go put it on later...

To be honest for me, Nintendo prices staying so high just tends to mean I don’t buy many Nintendo games anymore.

We'll have to see what happens when it comes to prices next gen. I thought they were pretty high this generation but as long as I shopped around beforehand I was usually happy with the price I paid. Hopefully it'll just be like that again.
