A bout of depression spurred this. Only two shots in but sticking to the no backspace rule. I haven't typed on a real keyboard much in forever soooo apologies if it gets real bad.

Surface 3. Ultraportable, decent enough power vs. battery life for it's size, versatile works as a tablet (the optional pen works great) the keyboard is decently solid and great for it's size range. Runs Windows 8.1 so you get a crappy app store, but a solid enough OS. For general light computing it's great. I'm not really up to spec on laptops anymore, I do know fuck Lenovo for their whole privacy SNAFU lately which is sad because I use to recommend them for solid built and respectable pricing.

Patch 1.04 is out on PC. On my phone so I don't have the changelog, more performance upgrades and better high and ultra textures plus some more fixes.

I'll give it a try, I typically have MSI Afterburner going but that's because it tracks usage and ram pretty well.

I actually don't have mine overclocked (well a measly 40Mhz factory OC). I'm not quite patient enough to fiddle around with power levels and voltage to find what's stable.

How often do you play multiplayer (online & locally)?
Nolan replied to Ashley's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Sporadically. There was a time online several days a week (years ago daily TF2) and then other things come along haven't done multiplayer in a few weeks now. Almost never do locally anymore, fewer games supporting splitscreen and fewer friends around to partake in. Used to play co-op all the time when I was younger. SNES days, and then all the Halo games and some Gears of War. -

Did you ever give New Vegas a shot? Yeah it's more of the same really, but it has it's differences, I like the world much more and the story. It is still ugly though. -

Sounds like you're only talking about the 64 releases. Though I guess Viva Pinata wasn't exactly in a sea of competition, Donkey Kong Country and the SNES weren't in a drought though. I like (seriously) that you say the Mario RPGs are awesome but just not your cup of tea. -

something something Potato pun, Yay all these later and I still remember the color code Don't we have to wait for the vote to for racism before we admit to being a little racist? Which reminds me of an amusing anecdote about Emojis but I don't want to derail a happy thread into one about racism -
I'm glad that that is what they found, I'm at 2560x1440 and while I never said 60fps it is playable with all settings except hairworks turned on. That said I do have about half the post processing effects turned off (anything that blurs to imitate AA, which are all low impact settings anyways) and the distance knocked down one notch. I'm getting 45-55 staying closer to 50 in most areas just fine with my 290x And at 1080p MadDog was using a regular 290 (I see you're having trouble making the distinction between the 290 and 290x) and getting 40-60fps. YMMV, but don't try and tell me that I don't know what my GPU is capable of and that I'm wrong and they're right purely because they're a website with graphs. Edit: Dicking around with fire tricks and pissed off a level 19 guard (14 levels higher than me) I had some close calls but I won the fight...no experience gain. Lost the war when another guard picked that moment to spawn with cries of "Daaaa[d]" despite looking a good 20 years older than the one I just murdered.

Everyones a little bit gay. -
Not exactly right, the PS4 isn't running hair works either. Without hairworks I can max the game on a 290x which is a two year old card come August. With hairworks, it can still be playable after a tessellation tweak in the driver control panel, and I haven't gotten the newest drivers yet that improve performance further.

Beyond Good and Evil never really clicked with me. I suppose I never got very far into it either though. -
The Girl with all the Gifts, basically The Last of Us the book, but not really. The similarities seem to end at Cordyceps. Not so far into it yet though.

45-55 area. Depends on the scenery. I agree with you games should be bug free for the money we pay, alternatively with the scope of the game things slip through. Hell I've read stories before where after encountering a bug the dev has trouble reproducing it to fix it. That said it feels like this is on par with an Elder Scroll title for bugs, even after multiple patches, from what I read. Personally I've had two crashes and both about an hour of playing and only when changing the clocks on my GPU. Oh and one time I got stuck in between some objects and a tree with a beehive....I got stung to death.

Fuck the Martyr and Fuck the Shadow, I'm playing Witcher 3.

I read the short story that came with The Witcher EE, don't much remember it but enjoyed it.

I'm wondering if that's a Console thing. Heavier blur for things in the distance to lower processing requirements. Blurring hides details, I've turned most post processing off and everything is pretty crisp I think. First thing I was doing was ignoring Vesemir and killing Level 3 and 4 drowners at Level 1. Also dying but totally possible to mess around with higher level critters.

I feel left out I haven't crashed yet even alt-tabbing a lot. I do however have to alt tab to adjust volume as the keyboard buttons don't work in game :/

Ahhh yeah 1080p, that'd be the extra performance. Around 75% more pixels. I doubt GoG is really stealing any performance from you though. It would only be a few CPU Cycles and a tiny bit of RAM. I noticed the game is only using 4 cores, and my utilization was 40-60% range. On a different note, Ultra Textures was around 2GB of VRAM which is different from how some games have been lately.
-
Why's that? I personally haven't any issues using Galaxy. What's your GPU out of curiosity and resolution? I pumped everything up to max and couldn't break 30 fps with my 290x the bath scene hovered around 15-24. I'm at 2560x1440 though. I just dialed back grass, shadows, and distance and turned off AA, Smoothing and Blur. AA wasn't really needed, game really is stunningly good looking though.

Playing it through GoG galaxy after pre-loading, technically still the 18th here and GoG says releases in less than an hour (Only 9pm)
