Slightly in Jims defense, his written review goes back to Splatoon and how well the gyroscopic aiming worked for that. But yeah he is typically negative of motion controls and personally I can't say I blame him some of the time.

Well damn....doesn't appear to be on the US PSN store. Never mind, found it. I always forget to check under free and then scroll over to find the "free demos" if only a demo category existed.

Well, the PC version of the game is pretty much a shit port from what I've heard. And I checked out the download for the video files, 75 fucking GB.

Damn what a shitty move by Amazon. Only UK so far? I haven't heard about this for the US, which they oddly started a program for preordering games (and buying within the first two weeks of release) that lets prime members save 20% which is not insignificant. Of course maybe they're doing this shit to try and justify that.

That was the shortcut, just the classic activate the elevator from the bottom. Or with a ass ton of health (NG+) you can fall and survive. I have to assume you already found the first shortcut near the lantern?

Not sure if this was posted but eh. http://www.giantbomb.com/articles/sources-the-upgraded-playstation-4-is-codenamed-ne/1100-5437/ Came across it in a thread speculating on AMDs upcoming GPU line. People are going with the idea that this could be their new Polaris chip on a new fabrication process (FINFET). FINFET is suppose to be much more efficient and current rumors and slides about the chips are saying 2.5x performance/watt. Working out to around 1.5x overall performance. If they're right though, this Polaris chip is meant to be around AMD 390 performance, which is a VERY large step up from the original PS4 GPU. But. Rumors are just rumors so eat some salt.

Framerate is relatively important to multiplayer. But it takes a second to details and skill. Unless of course the framerate absolutely tanks in which case the better one will win. Imagine 20fps vs 60fps. It's similar to high ping. On PC it isn't uncommon to play with low settings to have a perfect fps for multiplayer.

What a goddamn clusterfuck in here. Ronnie, take a breath and think for a second, you're yet again beating the same horse and I'm sure it's fun. But running around shouting about hypocrisy and Nintendo Bashing Sony Loving you're akin to the madman on the street spouting off about armageddon. You could be 100% right in your rants but there comes a point you're going to fall on deaf ears. You're making a lot of assumptions. You're making ones that are probably correct, I fully expect the situation to be similar to the New 3DS. Some exclusive games and others that run better. Actually....I think it'll be even more similar to the N64 RAM expansion pack. Just it isn't a nice easy swapping of relatively inexpensive hardware. But it's hardly Sony treating people like shit. They obviously see a market for this. The gaming market in general has trended this direction, look at micro transactions, people are willing to spend money in inane ways. People will buy the console, but developers are ALWAYS going to support the install base, exclusively developing for the newer one at this point in time is a sure fire way to kill a game. Maybe in 3-4 years it would have a better chance.

It's taken them far too long (years I'd say) but I believe with the latest firmware they've added popups for when friends come online and finally added appearing offline. Folders could be nice but I personally don't see the point, and I'm not sure what you mean by no activity log. I was under the impression that under a users profile there was a category to show their recent activities. In the PC side of things its somewhat standard operating procedure. A 3 year old GPU right now can still play games, but to really get the most every year or two is an upgrade. Granted on the console side of things, people get and want a console that just works and delivers perfectly acceptable performance. They don't want the headache or cost of staying cutting edge which is what this console essentially is. Just an upgrade to stay a little closer to the cutting edge. It is a shitty thing to do, but current trends are pointing towards consoles possibly becoming more modular and PC-lite in terms of hardware.

That right there is what makes it so good. A rush of adrenaline, heart pounding, nerves on edge, BAM victory and it feels so satisfying. A very hard game but so rewarding as you get better.

There's a set you can find in the early area for free. And really most armor is conditional to the enemy as to what's best. Many aren't clear cut better or worse than each other. What weapons are you using HoT? Saw Cleaver still or have you switched to anything else yet? There's a certain fuckoff huge blade that is on the overpowered side.

She sounds as good a player as me. My first time I took forever to be comfortable taking on groups of the "dudes" and finally taking out the bosses. Of course now knowing what I know I can kill everything(excluding bosses) from central Yharnam through old Yharnam without a second thought.
-
It's not the best area for sure but it's no blight town (Dark Souls 1). My biggest issue there was Frenzy really. I do love that boss though.

I hate you HoT....but not really. I beat Rom about two months ago for the first time. (Second character after a many month hiatus) and I got the game at release. Basically I suck. Edit Just checked the second spoiler. That was one of the two bosses that stonewalled me last time. Holy fuck they were tough back then. And this was when I released that when I last played before my hiatus was late April. Fucking before they patched Storage to allow for 600 vials and bullets (used to be capped at 99). Other patches also including various tweaks AND adding more summon spots for NPC help with different bosses. I summoned I think two people for that boss when I beat them recently. I'm excited to hear of your encounter with a certain jackass on a roof. Because fuck that boss. Seriously though glad to hear you're enjoying the game, and it truly lends itself to many playthroughs if you want to change your style. Similar to Monster Hunter as I'm sure you already figured out.

I can do better....I got it day one and installed it and still haven't played it....... I bought a Chrysler 300...it was too good a deal. 2010 with only 40,000 miles on it. Course I've added 2500 in less than a month.

Blood Vials and Bullets automatically refill every time you enter the dream. So whatever you have in storage comes out of storage and onto your person. Other items do not do that though; e.g. Molotovs. @RedShell Some tips for Father Gascoigne.

Adding to that, Demons Souls and Dark Souls 2 are essentially in their own world and story. Though with some possible connections. Dark Souls 3 is more or less a sequel to Dark Souls. But there really is no need to play in any order. And Bloodborne is a new series entirely with similar gameplay. (In the same manner that Shadow Tower games and Kings Field games are also different from Souls but similar.)

I recall looking for Revolution news, and finding it. Was a little while later I actually joined though.

Which Game Are You Mostly Looking Forward To This Year?
Nolan replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I don't know what's even still coming out this year. Dark Souls 3 or Final Fantasy XV though are what I know I'm looking forward to. -
Anyone that wants clear and concise delivery of Dark Souls and Bloodborne lore (which it can be a little difficult to delve into all of the lore) should check out VaatiVidya's videos. He's made a lot of videos just talking about the stories and lore of different characters in the games and the bosses. He was apparently also approached by From Software for Darks Souls 3 to give input on the lore. Even if you've played the games his videos are interesting to watch.

Demo was too short. Loved it though. I never completed the original demo, but enjoyed that as well. I do think I prefer this more DMCesque gameplay where switching weapons on the fly is possible as opposed to the previous method of putting weapons in an attack order. I will say this demo is a HORRIBLE representation of how battles should work. I got stomped the first time on the boss because other than O to attack I stumbled through relearning bits that I learned in the original demo. Respawned the Iron Giant and slaughtered him.

I skimmed the Jim Sterling review and this is what he echoes. It is a stock standard mundane shooter, but in his opinion Remedy made it fun and interesting with the time manipulation mechanics. He also says that it strikes a good balance of after a battle there is a cool down period, provides a nice juxtaposition from the action.

Hey man, video games is serious stuff. I still can't play Mario because it doesn't make sense that he gets big when he eats a mushroom! But really @killthenet, the rule of thumb in Final Fantasy is rule of cool. If it seems fun or cool or looks good, they'll do it. I think as early as FF6 guys with swords were killing guys in mech armor. Shit Sabin suplexes a train. Rule of cool has gotten a bit looser with some releases and can be just silly.
