Just had a pretty good session on this while waiting for the 23 GB of Yakuza 5 to download. Anyway, it's actually started to click now and become a lot more enjoyable.

Legend of the Mystical Ninja for SNES is on the Wii VC, yeah. But the N64 game isn't, not even in Japan.

I'm really... not feeling it. Yeah, it's far too early to pass judgment obviously, but my initial impressions of this game aren't too positive. Firstly, the character creator is a joke. As one of the very few people that actually likes the art style of this game, I was really looking forward to making my own character. But it's so limited it's unreal! The way various styles are tied to certain presets is unbelievably stupid and really restrictive. Then there's the general lack of audio options. No Music/SFX volume control (criminal omission given how bad the vocals are), no 5.1 surround sound and worst of all, no option for the original Japanese voices! I've only played for a few hours, and Lyn's voice is already unbearable. The menus are convoluted to the extreme! Seriously, it's all over the shop. I remember the original Xenoblade being confusing, but X takes it to a whole new level. It feels like you'd need a degree in order to learn how to properly understand this game. The online stuff does nothing but complicate it even further and some of the text size is so microscopic that I struggle to read it... on a 42 inch screen!! This might all seem like trivial stuff (and it kinda is) but there are just so many examples that when you bring them all together, it really has a negative effect on the overall game. Well, it has for me at least. There are obviously positives too, but at the moment they're just getting drowned out by everything else.

Thanks for reminding me about this game (hadn't even purchased any of this months PS+ titles yet! ) I had a quick go on it last night, and sure enough it was hilarious! Not watched the vid you posted, but having pissed myself to the introduction of the game, I'm sure it's gonna be great. :awesome:

Yakuza 5 date + Yakuza 0 localisation already makes it a great show for me. Ni No Kuni II was the icing on the cake. Major flashback to Nintendo's E3 Skyward Sword showing. Surprised anyone even attempts these kind of live demos anymore. I'm still not really sold on VR, but loved this:

And slip to 2016 it has. What with the Beta test not going down until January. US only too, which is extra annoying. Anyway, while I am disappointed, I'm also kind of relieved as there's just so many games to play already.

Yeah, it was blatantly between Splatoon and Rocket League. Both awesome multiplayer games, but Splatoon is definitely a worthy winner. :awesome:

You're meant to liberate an island from an evil dictator by essentially blowing the crap out of it. But when not doing that, you can do pretty much whatever the hell you want! And no, the story is completely pointless, it's a giant pisstake.

Is that really a thing then? I always thought it was a myth. But yeah, those that don't want to invest in an external HDD solely for this game (and rightly so) should just try using a USB stick instead.

Yeah, it went well for having such a reduced preparation phase though. Hopefully we'd be able to get more people involved if there's another, it's criminal how overlooked Smash Bros. has become on here, as it's such a fantastic online multiplayer game. I understood people going off Brawl due to its online performance, but this version plays so smoothly online it deserves to be played more. BTW, Dcubed, please send me your race to the finish custom stage, would like to play that in local multiplayer over Christmas.

Well, the servers appear to have stabilised. However, this also means that the some of the long load times weren't due to connection problems. Yeah, I did one of the helicopter challenges and the load time for it was atrocious! Must have been close to the 3 minute mark. Yet loading other challenges, or just fast traveling to different locations on the map took a matter of seconds. So weird. Anyway, I unlocked the booster C4 yesterday! As seen in the vid that was posted before. Lots of fun to be had with that upgrade. I used the tether to flip a car on its side, and then attached some booster C4 to the underside. Flipped it back over, activated the C4, and sure enough it lifted the car off the ground! Not very high unfortunately, but it looks like they get an extra upgrade later on, so hopefully it'll be possible to make cars into full-on rockets!

Yeah, I'm still not sure how much I'll be playing this.It's the same old end of year cram 'em all in to November/December BS. It's particularly bad this year though, with so many of the games I'm interested in being super lengthy titles. If I was smart I'd just hold off buying some of these games for next year... but I'm not.

Yeah, it's an ambitious project though for what I'm assuming is a pretty small team (no idea how big Q-Games are ) in which case I wouldn't be surprised if it did slip to 2016
