Pretty much. Like it or not, the Switch is still flying off the shelves. It'd be silly to do a Gamecube style price slash when it still sells so well.

PlayStation Showcase 2021 (Thursday 9th September 2021 @ 21:00 BST)
Glen-i replied to Julius's topic in Other Consoles
I think it's more the "not actual gameplay" that I think is the worst thing about these CG trailers. And let's face it, most of the time, games normally don't look as good as that first reveal trailer. -
-
The presentation of "Gotta Bounce" is enough to make me die of laughter! No way I'm getting a high score on that!
-
Yeah, the only criticism I have is that they've backtracked to only partial voice acting. A shame after Gold's high quality in that department. The rest of the game is utterly solid though. We've only done the main meat of Story Mode and it was a complete riot! Can't wait to get stuck into the extra games we unlocked!
-
Yep, @Dcubed and I stumbled across that. That said, I'm pretty certain I noticed that game when this was revealed. Sure it was one of the games a trailer showed (just a small screenshot)

As much as I really think Apple needs to be bought down a peg or two (or twenty), they were the lesser of two evils as far this particular court case goes. Epic were trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes, claiming to be fighting "for the little companies", when anyone with half a brain could tell they just wanted to set up shop wherever they like. It got even more brazen when they started that whole "Free Fortnite" thing to try and turn that fanbase on their side. I'm glad it backfired so spectacularly! Anyone who forces me to actually have to side with Apple deserves it.

Allow me to correct myself then. Mobile gamers generally don't want to pay upfront for a game.
-
Reasonable, um... Reasoning, but a part of me thinks they mostly wanted to tap into that crazy GO fanbase. That and it helped to bridge the gap while they sorted out the model transfer catastrophe. Didn't really take though. It only sold marginally better then most Pokémon remakes, and I'd put that more down to the Switch itself. Mobile players generally don't want to pay for games.
-
Ah, but wouldn't Let's Go Johto be before that? Explorers of Sky specifically came out after Platinum, didn't it? I don't mind waiting if it means we get a remake of that particular one.
-
It's why most people think it's gonna be another Let's Go affair. I'm sure you all know how I feel about that. But if it's not that, then I imagine they'll just skip it and do Black/White for the next remake project.
-
Well, after Diamond/Pearl, the next mainline games were HeartGold/SoulSilver. So that will theoretically be next on the list once those remakes come out. Not like that has anything to do with what's uploaded to YouTube. We're still a ways off before wondering about that.

Balderdash! I've never even entertained the notion of buying a PlayStation console! Ever!
-
Nil, he got a Mii costume recently. The latest Spirit Event was for the release of No More Heroes 3 as well.
-
What? You never visited the block museum? Clearly, accuracy is important enough for Alphadream.
-
Am I the only one who thinks it's weird that the compartment is a ? Block that never actually appears in Mario 64? Could've made it the Wing Cap ! Block.

Stock matches tonight at 8!

In the profile settings on the Pokémon Club site, there should be a check box where you can opt-in to their marketing e-mails. Don't forget to click save at the bottom. Can't guarantee that will work, mind. I've always allowed those e-mails and I seem to have stopped receiving them in the past few months. That said, the announcement for this just happened today, so I'd wait a week before getting concerned.

Good news! The Dada Zarude and Shiny Celebi Event distribution to tie in with the latest movie will be available soon! Bad news! They're doing it via Pokémon Club newsletters again... I'm sure some of you remember that some people had big issues trying to get Zarude last time, so if you want this, I'd double check if you are receiving them. You need to be in before the 25th of September. Details here

Sonic Colo(u)rs Ultimate (7th Sept-Switch/PS4/Xbox One)
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It was? Huh. Well, double the catastrophe then. My point still stands. -
So near, and yet so far... Doesn't this game have an online leaderboard? What's the point when you can just brute force every stage and go for max points with absolutely no risk of running out of lives and ending your run? It also gets rid of the risk/reward of going for the more difficult warp gates. Dreadful change that shows utter blindness on what makes the games so appealing. BTW, @Cube. The original games already had a system for unlocking stuff called Play Points. Simply put, each time you played the main modes, you got points which let you unlock the party games and add continues/lives to the main game. You got more play points, the better you did on the Main mode. There's no real change with this new system.

Sonic Colo(u)rs Ultimate (7th Sept-Switch/PS4/Xbox One)
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Or another anniversary where a certain new 3D Sonic Game was an absolute trainwreck that ended up tanking the series's reputation? Sega really have to stop getting out games with a deadline of a 5 year anniversary... -
FF1, you mean. You can still do a similar trick in FF2 once you get Minwu and level up his Teleport a bit. Although, given how stat growth works, it doesn't give you power, but it does give you crazy money, which you then use in Mysidia to buy loads of spells (including Holy!) way earlier then you're meant to. It's less "Peninsula of Power" and more "Continent of Magic", mind. FF2 is a very weirdly designed game! Well annoyed that Toad didn't work on the final boss though... It's still the best spell in the game (It still works on most of the bosses!), but it loses that really funny quirk.

OK, I have been really neglecting my write-ups of games this year. So it's time to dump most of them all here. To avoid taking up three quarters of the page, I'm gonna put my thoughts into spoiler tags. Just gimme a moment to psyche myself up... Right, here we go! Disclaimer: I've not actually finished Great Ace Attorney yet, still on Case 5. Speaking of mods... Anyway, on to actual games! Sticking with old-school stuff. And that about does it. All caught up! Well, almost... There is one more game I've completed, but I feel that deserves it's own article on the main site here. It really needs me to dedicate some time to express my strong and passionate feelings on it.

It's basically the way you should handle Smash hype, don't let your hopes and dreams raise your expectations so high that they can't realistically be met and you can't go wrong.
