  1. I've been playing through this this week. Just got the ship myself. Just a heads up, if you want more Sages. A level 20 Gadabout can become a Sage without reading.
  2. You can tell he spends too much time on ResetEra. Doesn't even read previous posts.
  3. Might be time to put your money where your mouth is soon... This happened with Octopath Traveler, it was temporarily delisted to change the publisher from Nintendo to Square, and then shortly after, it was ported to other platforms.
  4. Nailed it! No-one can compare to Lucina & Lucina & Knuckles! I really have to stop using Kaclang when other Heroes are around...
  5. Spark Cutter is by far, the most effective power combo in that game. The cutest Sith Lord Seriously, if you didn't need specific powers to get some Crystal Shards, I would use nothing but. It's way too good. Also, this game has Checkerboard Chase, an absolute top-tier multiplayer minigame. And I know people who'd agree! Everyone's dead, Dave.
  6. Well, assuming no massive revelations come to light, I'm gonna stick to the original lineup. The others are too vague to go either way. Bum Fight There is a costume restriction. Hero - Dragon Quest 4 version only (Pictured above) Stages lack buildings you could live in. Can't have people squatting during a fight now, can we? The items are the standard fare. Format: 3 Stock, 10 Minutes FS Meter: On Custom stages start at 7:30.
  7. This is a good point. I mean, going by how much Male Robin and Chrom show up together outside of Awakening (Smash4, Ultimate, and even FE: Engage), I'd say there's just as much of a case for them being the canon pairing. I don't have anything to say on Ike's case. I've never played the Tellius games, so I'll have to watch that discussion on the side, but... I'm happy someone noticed this. In a reverse of the Ike situation, Dcubed hasn't played Mother 3, while I have. When we had our initial discussion on every character, I had to pull the "You're just gonna have to trust that I'm right on this one" card when we got to him. I mean, yeah, both Dcubed and I eventually had to agree that it was more likely then not that Little Mac has a place to stay. It's Ridley that we both stubbornly refuse to budge on! Pirate Homeland is an inhospitable wasteland! I'm not even convinced he was born on that planet. And speaking of... NO! BAD! Don't you dare try to discount one of the few legit cool things about Other M's mess of a plot! You know that's not Ridley! I will die on that hill if I have to! MB's the other cool thing about that plot, and I don't care what anyone says.
  8. Probably on the Japanese app, seeing as there is no Game Boy version of DKL 3 in Japan.
  9. OK, so @S.C.G. Simon has seem to have fallen ill. (Didn't realise you could catch flu through Mario Kart), so it'll be you, me and Dcubed tonight at 8:30. Unless... Someone here wants to join in Perfect Dark?
  10. God, it bothers me that they imply Tropical Freeze happens before Returns...
  11. OK, so there's a theme coming up. Got an idea, but there's a few characters not currently on the list because I'm not entirely certain, so I'm gonna post the idea and the characters, and see if I can get a more concrete consensus. The title of this theme, which will certainly get censored in the game itself, is... Bum Fight The characters here, as far as I'm aware, do not have a place of residence. Effectively, they're homeless. For what it's worth, characters who lose their house during a game, but then get it back later don't count. That's why Sheik is there, but not Zelda. Spoilers for Ocarina of Time, but by the time Zelda gets her castle back, she's no longer Sheik. I am counting characters who live in some kind of personal vehicle. Samus and Wolf bascially live in their car, and that's not a home. Compare Fox and Falco, who live on the Great Fox; A ship clearly designed to also function as a home. You know? Like Star Trek. As for Hero, only the DQ4 style Hero (Pictured above) would remotely qualify here. Now, the floor is very much open to questions and debate, but there are also a few characters that @Dcubed and I can't seem to come to an agreement on. These characters are; Daisy - Have you ever seen her castle? I certainly haven't! Why is she always hanging around the Mushroom Kingdom, anyway!? Starting to think Sarasaland doesn't actually exist and Super Mario Land was all a fever dream. Meta Knight - The Halberd makes this tricky. Even discounting the possibility that it never gets rebuilt after Planet Robobot, does he have a house? Dedede and Kirby do, but we've seen nothing for Meta Knight... Pit - I think Pit must have a house somewhere in Skyworld. Dcubed thinks that Palutena is such a massive troll, that she wouldn't give him one for laughs. I can't catagorically deny that possibility. Alph - Not Olimar. Olimar definitely has a house and a family, but Alph is a bit more vague on that front. He has a job, so it's not unfeasible to think he has a house, but there's no evidence there. Little Mac - There's no confirmation of a house of some kind, so this one depends on whether a gym is good enough. Is the gym public access? Robin - Dcubed thinks he's homeless, I think Chrom is the kind of bro that would at least give him a house after the crap they went through in FE: Awakening. Duck Hunt Duo - If the dog doesn't count, then the duck does at least. But it all depends on how you determine the off-screen sharpshooter and their relationship with the dog. Ridley - You ever played Metroid Prime 3? Ain't no houses on the Pirate Homeworld! Dcubed disagrees. Richter - OK, so Dcubed doesn't know this, but during my research, I found out that Simon Belmont would go on to found his own town! So he definitely ends up with a house. As for Richter? Well, that depends on whether he would end up inheriting some kind of Belmont residence. They do pass the Vampire Killer whip down the generations, so why not a house? So that's it? Thoughts?
  12. Oh right. Forgot to say this. Sorry about Cloudtop Cruise. It didn't benefit me one bit, yet I still rammed you off. It was pretty funny, though.
  13. Oh, and @lostmario, don't think that we didn't notice you trying to get early Baby Park on the second GP because that GP was a wash for you. Very shrewd! I love it!
  14. Yeah, @martinist was scarily effective with the star tonight! I think he nailed, like, 4 people on one corner with it on DS Mario Circuit! Also, this!
  15. Oh man, got a fright there when it showed the names of the voice actors. Almost seemed like it was gonna be Japanese voices only...
  16. Nobunaga likes this So yeah, in case you missed it. There will be a Tera Raid running in Scarlet and Violet where you can nab the best Pokémon to conquer all of Japan with! Starts from the 20th of December, and runs for 2 weeks. Also, yes, Shiny Rayquaza gets it's own (Very Smash-esque) logo. Not Rayquaza, Shiny Rayquaza.
  17. Player's Choice tonight at 8pm.
  18. I would. If you can't aim where you're flying and landing, you're not going to make much progress. And all the floating collectibles? Hell, S-K-A-T-E letters are basically Jinjos from Banjo-Kazooie. Anyway, yeah. THPS 2 was the first one I played. Immediately loved it. Don't think I could ever go back to the original though. No manual? No thanks! It also can't be stated enough how influential this licensed game is, and that's in no small part to the Hawkman himself. That guy was heavily involved with helping Neversoft make this. Providing motion capture for the game, explaining skating terminology to the staff, convincing his skater pals to let them use them in the game. And then right before the Playstation version came out, he nailed the first ever 900! (Which I believe he recreated for Neversoft to use in their intro video for the game) Neversoft did a cracking job, but there's no denying Tony made it the breakout hit it was. He's still very passionate about the games, he did the 900 again for the remakes, so he's still got it. I really hope he's successful in getting the third and fourth games the excellent treatment the first two games got.
  19. Oh, it certainly is! No prizes for guessing where the inspiration for that visual style came from. *Adds to wishlist*
  20. Would legit rather play that then DK64, so I see it as a win.
  21. Shantae and the Seven Sirens is the latest game in the Shantae series. It's a Metroid style platformer developed by WayForward and released on all modern platforms in 2019. Shantae (Half-human, half-genie), her uncle, and two of her best friends have been invited to Paradise Island for an all expenses paid vacation. Shantae soon discovers that five other half-genies have also been invited. The small print turns out to be that Shantae and the 5 other half-genies take part in Paradise Island's brand new "Half-genie festival". They agree, but during the festival, every half-genie except Shantae mysteriously disappears. Suspecting foul play, Shantae explores the ruins underneath the island to try and find them using her powers... Yeah, that. Thank you. Like most of the Shantae games, this one consists of a big interconnected area where most of it is inaccessible until you unlock more abilities for Shantae to use. I'm sure all of you have played a Metroid game, you get how it works. Shantae distinguishes itself by also having Zelda style dungeons. Granted, it's closer to Zelda 2 because of the side scrolling nature of the game. Seven Sirens specifically takes notes from Castlevania with the monster card system. Whenever you kill an enemy, there's a chance they'll drop a card of themselves. There's 50 of these cards, and you can activate three of them at a time to give Shantae some kind of passive ability. None of them are required to finish the game, but they add an extra layer of customisation. Even if a certain one that replenishes magic over time is way too good. One thing to note about this is that in 2021, a pretty sizable update was added to this game that included 4 extra difficulty modes. Alongside the 2019 Legacy Mode, there's Beginner Mode, which makes Shantae invincible and crazy strong. Definitive Mode rebalances enemies to be harder, makes boss patterns faster, but adds extra dialogue, and quality of life features to make 100% completion far more reasonable. Full Deck Mode gives you all 50 monster cards from the start, and Rule Breaker Mode removes the three card activation limit, and lets you have every one you find active all at once. Rule Breaker Mode sounds like a lot of fun, but this was my first time playing this game, so I went with Definitive Mode. I'm glad I did, the extra map features were very much appreciated, especially the one that hints at what dance you might need in each room. Considering that there's a lot of invisible goodies with not much in the way of hints to help signpost them, I can't imagine trying to find everything in this game with the original release (Legacy Mode). Hmmm. The Screen Clearing Blast is my favourite character. Honestly, I don't know why it took me 5 years to play this. I like all the Shantae games, and this one is no different. I'd put it right in the middle of the 5 games in terms of quality. It's great. But Risky's Revenge and especially Pirate's Curse outdo it.
  22. No need, really, considering the other way Kaclang managed to get me killed.
  23. Just so we're clear. The last match was "Sakurai lunchtime rules" right? First to Kamikazee wins? What do you mean, no!?
  24. Oh, I'm always signed in here, I had no issues getting in there. OK, now it's funny again. Seems like a really dumb oversight.
  25. Awww... That's less funny. The possibility that someone was scrubbing through some random guy playing Smash Ultimate with his friends and seeing that freeze frame and immediately reporting it was quite amusing.
