Right, next theme night is here. The first one I did was based around Smash 64. Well, enough time has passed for me to move on to the next game. Let's Play Smash Melee But, you know, without the horrid balance issues, 4:3 ratio and the really muffled announcer. Character choices are obvious, the first 26 characters in Ultimate's roster (ignoring the echo fighters), Miis aren't allowed and as usual, don't choose random. The stages here are all those that appeared in Melee, including the 3 N64 stages. Yeah, it's a shame that the best Melee stage isn't in Ultimate, but we'll make do. Make sure your stage choice is set to random and my settings will take care of the rest. Items are what you'd expect as well. Format: 4 Stock, 8 minutes FS Meter: Off The format is based off of the standard competitive Melee tournament ruleset. Except with items, because real men use items.

I've got my expectations in check. If it has to be a Sword/Shield Pokémon, it better be the correct one!

Given this a bit more thought, but something else came to mind for this. Capcom really were absolute beasts when it came to pushing the 3DS to it's limits! Here's a PS3/XBox 360 title, running in 60 FPS and in stereoscopic 3D to boot! And it was a launch title! Absolutely nuts!

On mobile, so I can't easily post pictures, but one that immediately comes to mind for the Switch here. God, this is some black magic going on! It's SO close to the PS4 version visually, that you wouldn't be able to tell the difference without a side-by-side comparison! Looks great in handheld too! It shouldn't do, but it does!

Yeah, I'm of the same mind. Good randomizers should have an option somewhere to produce a seed that requires no advanced glitch exploitation. I know for a fact the Super Metroid/Link to the Past crossover one has this option. I refuse to play any randomizers that expect you to do things that you wouldn't need to in the base game. Speaking of, Link to the Past has a good one, provided you know that game well enough.

Deltarune Chapter 2 is out now. No, I haven't played it yet, but I have been listening to the soundtrack from Chapter 1. You can't deny Toby Fox has some great composing chops! There's a reason Smash Bros and Pokémon got him to write a song for them! And the best song has to be the following. And a different take on that.

Oh yeah, Sonic is one of the most irritating characters to fight in Ultimate. A lot of his attacks are really safe to attempt because if you miss, chances are he ricochets away from any retaliation. In other words, you annoy the opponent to death. I really wanna punch whoever's bright idea it was to let Sonic activate Neutral B whenever he likes. Impossible to tell when it's coming. So really, the only way to handle him is with projectiles, but I was Marth, so I had to make do the next best thing, counters. I don't like using counters. Always been an unsatisfying move with how powerful they are, but against Sonic? It's deserved. That's not to say that I think all counters are bad, Peach and Daisy's are fine, because the damage is set, and some of the more recent characters have some more reasonable ones. Incineroar has a fun one. It's just an attack boost that can be knocked out of Incineroar if it gets whacked too hard or it takes too long to land an attack. It still takes a little damage as well. On a similar note, Joker's is fine as well. Until he actually gets Arsene, and then it gets silly again, but at least it's temporary. And then there's Shulk and Bayonetta. I don't mind these ones because it actually fits them quite well, based on the games they come from. They also start getting harder to land if you spam them too much, it's a nice balance. Anyway, that aside. It's a shame you won't be joining us for Smash shenanigans in the future. I'll miss your custom stages. And while there's nothing wrong with a 1v1, I always think the more players, the better.

You kidding, right? 18-volt is easily one of the best characters. It's ridiculous how flexible he is! 5-volt is one of those characters who either completely demolishes a microgame, or really struggles. Case in point, that microgame where you have to navigate through a cave to a helicopter, 5-volt can literally just warp there! But throw her at a game where she needs to hover around the top of the screen, and she kinda falls apart. EDIT: Oh right, and 9-volt is apparently one of the better characters for speedrun purposes, he's difficult, but awesome, thanks to the sheer force behind his Yo-Yo. He's really good at games that require you to move an object if you can aim properly.

I just don't see what's wrong with the standard method of giving out a Mystery Gift code. After the utter shambles of last time, you'd think they wouldn't try that newsletter again... Hopefully, other websites from different countries will pull through.

It might be a theory, but it's a sound one, in my opinion. I'd be more surprised if those games didn't get pushed back to the next console. Bayo 3 has had nothing shown for 4 years now, and then there's the very recent tweet from Bayo's voice actress saying that she's not been contacted about it. That's bizarre, no matter how you slice it. Both of those are clearly going through development hell of some kind. It might be a cross-gen deal, perfectly possible, but I would defo not rule that theory out.

Don't fall into that trap! Do not forget what happened to Spring Man! It's not happening in this game!
