So, did anyone have a play with the Beta? I did, and enjoyed it a lot. Although it doesn't feel like the outside world flows quite as well as the linear routes did in the first game, it's still great to play. There was one mission in this game that wasn't in the previous demo I'd played, and it had all the final features like XP locked abilities (although several were unlocked already). The previous demo let me play with the zipline-hook gadget which this one didn't. Not sure how much bigger the fully unlocked overworld will be, but hopefully much because it felt like I'd seen it all pretty quickly. The XP locked abilities will be annoying. Not having the tuck-jump or the 180 degree spin at the start felt unnecessarily limiting. The user-generated content was everywhere, absolutely littered the map. Although it might've just felt like that because it was unlocked when all the other beta content had run out. Most of it was rubbish as well, players just start a little running route that goes around a corner and then stops. Could do with some kind of filter so that only well rated routes appear. I did find the main mission to be bugged, which is a bit concerning.... If the beta only has one main mission and it's broken, what does that say for the full game? Basically I fell off the map at the end, when escaping the level, and when I respawned the map was pointing me back into the mission, wouldn't let me do anything else... but when I ran in, the checkpoints wouldn't update. Died again, and the mission basically reset, but then a lift half-way through the map couldn't be called. Not a promising sign. Other than those things though it felt like Mirror's Edge, looked fantastic, the combat was satisfying and didn't have that annoying feeling that you would be cut to ribbons as soon as you got something wrong, like the first game. Still very much looking forward to the full thing

Sold my motorbike was starting to worry it wasn't going to sell, was a bit annoyed that I'd spent £20 on an Autotrader ad and gotten zero responses. Then I finally got one response, guy came straight round, checked it worked and then paid me the asking price for it! I'm happy, but also kinda sad, I will miss it! 125s are a bit pants after you've been on something better, but she was still my first bike. Onwards and upwards!

Went to see my house again Saturday morning. It was nice to remember that its a good house the south facing garden looked awesome in the sun. The fridge, washing machine and mower the owners are leaving me were great. Then they also threw in a workbench and vice in the garage! And I discovered an outbuilding I didn't even know was there! Thought it was just a small space with a gas meter in but it turned out to have quite a bit of storage space. Then when I got home later that morning, the postman had brought me all the details from the solicitors' searches etc, all the paperwork and lease info, confirmation that they're ready to go on the Help to Buy ISA (no 3-4 week wait... :/) and asking me to suggest a date

Got to say the beard and new 'do has improved your image 100 fold. Also the leather N7 jacket was good, fit you better than the hoodie. Wear more clothes that fit you, rather than going up a size and you're gonna do fine.

I think it's a pretty cool idea. I think it might be important to quickly get away from any notions that this will be a "faithful" retelling of the original TV series instead of a modern re-imagining, and accept it taking any liberties it likes to tell its own story. It's not as if MMPR is some masterfully crafted story that must not be tampered with in the first instance.

Raid reminder Edit: What's the best method for Warpriest nowadays? Sniper ammo being nerfed makes it less viable. Damn, this was done with just one attacking phase and touch of malice, although players were all 330+ (skip to 1:25) No Time to Explain is viable too

You can do one for free on Experian, just cancel before the 30 day trial is up. Re: solicitors, ask around from other people who have bought in your area, look on forums online for recommendations, you can ring them and get an idea of the fees even if you don't have a property in mind.

Regard Help to Buy ISA what's weird is that as far as I can see it's just a form they have to complete at least 5 days before completion, not 3-4 weeks: https://www.helptobuyisaadmin.org.uk/conveyancers/the-scheme The only other parts that could take time are the conveyancer joining the scheme through Lender Exchange (I've no way of knowing how long this takes, but presumably it's a one-off, so maybe it would've only taken time in your case being the first) and receiving a letter from the bank after closing the account. Funnily enough I just called my solicitor, they told me to call the bank, the bank told me to call the solicitor and that they should just research it themselves, ha! Ridiculous....
