So far I think I definitely echo what @Aneres11 said. Lots of small individual levels that are obviously oozing with charm but otherwise a little bit linear. Not scratching that Mario itch but definitely having a good time with it. I've done about half (?) of the game pretty quickly and only once or twice did I even have to backtrack because I had found a bot out of sequence. That said it's great fun to play, mixing up the gameplay with all the powerups reminds me of It Takes Two in that there's so many different mechanics it always feels like lots of little games stuck together. Great game but if it's still holding it's value by the time I finish, I'll probably sell it 😅

Picked this up at the Black Friday price, couldn't resist! Even though I still have a heck of a back catalogue...

Anyone else struggled to get into this? Like it was entirely up my street, Persona in a new world. I dipped right into the demo and maxed it out. But as soon as I reached the second "open world" segment in the full game... I felt like i was just in step 2/x of a predictable loop and I just couldn't bring myself to contiue. Someone tell me it's not that predictable, I want a reason to give it another shot.

An amazing game that's on a long list of co-op games I've never finished. I'm not sure I'd want to call it too long because that's a disservice to the huge amount of work and care that's gone into it, and it never really drags or sacrifices quality/mixing up gameplay. But it definitely keeps going and going further than you'd expect.

IGN has given this... a 9????* https://www.ign.com/articles/sonic-x-shadow-generations-review What a time to be alive * on ps5

Trust me, I want bright and cheerful. I was hopeful for the first half of MoS and it was all completely downhill from there for me. I just feel like Krypto is a bit silly for the big screen. But I'm hopeful to be proven wrong.

That seems... a little too far in the direction of wholesome and fun to me. Hoping it's just a throwaway sequence.

Hate to break it to you but I beat that boss just by buying the Ice items and no grinding at all 😜 Just pre-ordered this, because I actually enjoyed it a fair bit. Hope the full game lives up to the demo. It's basically Persona in a new skin, and I'm all for that.

The new anime and manga thread! [Use Spoiler Tags!]
Shorty replied to Shorty's topic in General Chit Chat
What the ACTUAL F- Oh you're watching it dubbed. That makes sense. The reason I watch subbed over dubbed is not for superiority or because I think "original is better" - it's because when you can understand the cringey shonen words being shouted out loud, it's just so silly. -
The new anime and manga thread! [Use Spoiler Tags!]

Don't get me wrong when I was younger I probably watched the first 300-400 episodes of One Piece more than once and enjoyed it repeatedly. The pacing was occasionally bad back then but not a total joke. It's the subsequent 600+ where its lost the plot lol. One Piece is tied together by awesome, emotional, gut-punching backstories and takes exciting leaps forward in the story where other series would just stew for a while. So when you spread those key moments out to be 10, 20, even 50 episodes apart, it loses all its rhythm. -

The original anime is a mess to be honest. I'd love to love it, but I've honestly never known anything drag its heels quite like it. The pacing makes it completely unenjoyable to me nowadays. Even if I try to watch the fan re-cut "One Pace". Hoping that the new version of the show really fixes this. -
Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition (26th Sept 2024)
Shorty replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I've always been a big fan of PC keyboard and mouse for these games - in fact some of the first ever online gaming I did was on Worms 2 with people from this forum and a 56k modem! That said, they've always been perfectly fine with controllers too. You just have to learn to navigate the weapons menus very quickly so as not to waste precious time! -
As a rule, image uploads is off (for non-staff) just to save on disk space. I'd prefer images simply uploaded to imgur etc then pasted in. Tapatalk support for Invision has seemingly been pretty much abandoned by the devs, so we weren't able to keep it.

All credit goes to Cube for that sweet retro 3D N, I just clicked some buttons

Let me know if you want to, I can help out. They don't have to even go into the homepage news feed if you're worried about that, or they can be added as their own feature etc. Funny I was thinking about Superman 64 the other day. It's obvious why it was so disappointing back in the day when people were hoping for something bigger and better, and we've still never had a good Superman game... which is pretty wild. But with so much less shovelware coming out in those days I guess it was just an easy target.

Maybe I'm a bit late to the party here but can't help but wonder why these aren't articles on the main site as well as forum posts? 😄
-
So glad we finally solved that problem

Guess I'll check out that demo then... no feedback from anyone on this?

If it can play Half Life Alyx, it'll never need its own Killer App 😁 (j/k don't want to get into the "buy a powerful PC" debate again) In related news... I upgraded to the Quest 3 but still barely put the thing on. Maybe just too sweaty a time of year for it 😅

The issue with the forum not sending emails should be fixed, sorry, with all the server downtime when we upgraded that slipped my mind.

Sorry, it should be an ID not a class, so the "." wants to change to "#" Here's a rough idea of the setup:

Sorry but we're just going to mostly use the forum as it's built for now. We're not going to be shuffling whole parts of a third-party system around which might expand or change in future updates, just giving ourselves headaches when things break. I'd prefer to reduce barriers to keeping the system up-to-date going forward so we don't end up back in the position we were in before with broken themes and out-of-date plugins holding us back. Hopefully you'll get used to it, or check out a browser extension to customise it as you like.

I imagine a thread just has to be big enough to be worth summarising, and then it appears. I'd advise hiding it with a browser script if it's a bother, you could install the Stylus browser extension then create a script to add the following CSS .ipsLayout_sidebar { display: none; } Since it's new and novel, and people tend to be a bit... reactionary when it comes to change (remember when everyone said avatars over 25x25px were obscenely large? 😉), I'd rather just leave it a while and see if people get used to it/get benefit out of it. It's handy for giving people ways to engage with the quality content from the middle of a thread that they might otherwise miss.

It does seem to have improved doesn't it! I haven't really done anything, except set up a monitoring service to automatically restart the service that kept going down. I'm hoping that maybe just as more and more of the site went into the new caching system, things have gotten more stable by themselves. 🤞
-
To be honest I think that was just it going down regularly while I was trying to adjust configs and set up logs/monitoring, which I've given up on for now. I think it might still go down from time to time, but hopefully less frequently. Anyway I have to get back to my real job now
