    • It really is. It also makes me wonder more about where things like Prime 4 and Legends Z-A lie in all this, what exactly their cross-gen transition plans are, and how big they plan to go with the initial announcement/set of reveals with Not-E3 taking place just a couple of months after launch *if* this thing does actually end up releasing in April. I don't know if it would be the smartest thing in the world - I wouldn't do it - but *if* it launches in April with a 3D Mario, you give the vague promise of Prime 4 and Legends Z-A launching by the end of the year, new Mario Kart in May, and heavily lean on announcements of third-party ports like Baldur's Gate 3 and Elden Ring, and some new announcements of what to expect from third parties too? They could seriously coast from a hypothetical launch in April to June for Not-E3 where they then announce more things and stick dates on Prime 4 and Pokémon. Again, not saying they should...but they could get away with that really easily.  There's no way at this point that Nintendo haven't noticed the leaks, as they have started to break into mainstream media via larger outlets like IGN. Again, I don't think they care as much about the hardware if it's simply a more powerful Switch, and are probably happy for everyone to see the Switch 2 compared to how heavily guarded the actual software line-up is.  Still, there's no way in my mind that they can wait it out this quietly unless they are incredibly confident in their launch line-up and whatever they have planned for the 6-12 months following. It feels very weird, almost scary, for the manufacturer of the highest-selling console of the past few generations to be so quiet when they know they have a switch (heh) they can flip to turn an entire industry on its head.  Genuinely, and I mean this sincerely (though I may also be tired and just a little bit excited): I don't know if Xbox or PlayStation could be as quiet in this same situation.
    • In addition, not only have Genki that they have a Switch 2 in their possession – they're saying that this thing is coming in April.  This is absolutely mental.  What makes this even crazier is the fact that they were very publicly advertising that they were bringing their Switch 2 accessories and were going to talk about what they knew at the show nearly a week ago.  Looks exactly as expected (and purportedly leaked), but yeah. All kinds of mental.    Ball's in your court Nintendo, as it has been for the last 12 months. No real rush, though, I'm loving the meltdowns.
    • A French journalist tweeted after speaking to Genki staff that they heard that the console is set to release in April - pretty wild that if that's the case we could be playing a new 3D Mario in a few months
    • Genki have shown some of their Switch 2 peripherals at CES today and they have their Switch 2 joycon charger on display. But they also seem to have put the official joycons ( probably 3D printed) in them for everyone to see:    Also supposedly a replica of the Switch 2:
    • Jeez, there's Dirty Dom heat.  Then there's the heat Hogan had during his sporadic appearance. People just didn't want to see him at all.
