    • It's a moot point, none of those stages are here tonight. Reposting the theme for the new page. Competitive Smash! About a month ago, the Kagaribi 13 Tournament took place in Japan. It's one of the many Smash Bros. Tournaments that are happening these days, but it did have one of the largest amount of prominent competitive Smash players gathered in one place in quite a while. So, I decided to make a theme around it. I looked at the list of participants in order of highest placing seed, went down the list, and took note of the character each player put down as their main. I kept going until I got 20 different characters. I only needed to get to the 27th seed before I met the 20 quota. The variety of characters in that list is mad impressive! I think every character was there with at least one player! Goes to show how exceptional the balance in Smash Ultimate is. Anyway, so as far as competitive Smash is concerned, these are the best 20 characters. Which is hilarious, because I would only say 5 of these characters are great in comparison to the rest of the roster. But well, we play Smash in a more normal setting, don't we? Not this week though, I'm going almost all in on this. Every stage here is allowed in standard competitive tournaments. At least, that was the plan, but that would only leave us with, like, 7 stages. That's unacceptable, so I expanded it to include stages that are allowed under the "Gentleman Rule" (Stages that are allowed if both players agree to it beforehand) There are no items tonight. Yes, I know, I'm one of the biggest advocates of "Smash isn't Smash without items", but you know, I guess I can stomach it every once in a while... or every twelve years... Now this is important, there's a setting I've activated that is very unothordox here. Format: 3 Stock, 8 Minutes FS Meter: Off Stage Hazards: Off I have never turned Stage Hazards off even once since this game came out, so I have no idea what it actually changes! Also, I said I almost went all in on this, because technically I should make every match 1 V 1, but come on, I wanna avoid people waiting to play as much as I can. Custom Stages from 7:30pm. EDIT: Oh right, before I forget. When I give the heads up for the last match. Pick Fox. Yes, I want to do the overplayed competitive Smash joke. We won't get another chance for a very long time. Might as well.
    • I’m going to assume it’s stuff on stages that can hurt you or interact with. So something like the Mario Kart stage where the karts race around, wouldn’t have the karts racing around.  Sorry @S.C.G possibly no bridge braking tonight
    • *looks up andor* It's a series? Yeah, that ain't happening then. Anyway, back to Star War- I mean, Doom.  Got a few more levels under my belt, including one where you play as a giant mech slayer  (which was good fun) it's like a gory version of the Impact stages from Goemon!  And another where you ride around on a dragon (also fun, after inverting the flight controls ) so it's starting to pick up a bit. Definitely cool that there's so much gameplay variety so early on. 👍 The only issue with that is how the button mapping for dodging/parries changes from the on foot sections, which is a bit confusing.
    • Rave Master An all out slugfest featuring allies, rivals, Rave and even Shadowstones!! JP release: 20th March 2002 NA release: 8th March 2005 EU release: N/A Developer: Konami Publisher: Konami NGC Magazine Score: 69% Mods Used: Widescreen Hack   Rave Master (or The Groove Adventure Rave for a direct translation of the original Japanese name) is an anime all about a kid that saves an old man and inherits the powers of “Rave” and sets out on a journey to collect special stones. I’d never heard anything about it, but with all the music-related terms, I was expecting something a bit more musical – perhaps that’s something that was lost when adapting it into a game.     The game itself is an arena fighter, a trend started by Power Stone, and something that was a trend at this point in time. I’ve only played a few terrible ones (Tom & Jerry and Powerpuff Girls) so it was nice to find one that was quite enjoyable. What makes this work well are the items available, with you having weapons and three slots for powers (which, with the right combinations, allow for some powerful attacks). Each weapon has a very different feel to it, which really helps the basic two kinds of attacks and creates some much needed variety.     In story mode, you get text-based dialogue between each mission, enhanced by portraits and stills. The main character’s story (Rave Master Haru) is what seems to be an adaptation of the overall story of the show, while the other four are side adventures, such as Elie, who sets off on a humorous mission of trying to find out who took a photo of her while bathing. The graphics are also colourful and capture the 2D artwork quite well.     While it doesn’t take long to see everything, it’s all still good fun, and wonderfully frantic when four people are on the screen battling for their weapons of choice. Short and sweet. Fun Remake or remaster? It’s fun, but I imagine there are better games in the genre. Official Ways to get the game There is no official way to get Rave Master.
    • No, no, no, NO! You gotta do it properly. Like when I was insisting @Dcubed play a certain Fire Emblem game I knew he would like. WATCH ANDOR, DAMNIT!
