|Laguna| Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Test The Nation is on the BBC1 now. It's testing your English this time. If you want to play along you can print a scorecard from here http://www.bbc.co.uk/testthenation/scorecard.shtml Should be better than more pointless ones they did previously like who knows the most about 2004. Or you can take it here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/testthenation/english/index.shtml
Konfucius Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 A disappointing 37/70 - that damn time limit, otherwise I would have had time to look the words up in the dictionary
Blackfox Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 I will be interested in Saturday night television when the BBC try and come up with a new and entertaining concept rather than a glorified spelling test.
kyletherobot Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 yeah i know what you mean, the first thirty times this may have been slightly interesting, but alas, no more is it entertaining.
Athriller Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 If this show had more naked women, explosions or zombies, it would rekindle my interest. Alas, it lacks all qualities which make the world go round.
Eenuh Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 40/70 "Not a bad score at all!", according to them. If they say so. ='3 Darn time limit though; makes me stressy so I make more mistakes. Ah well.
Blackfox Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 32 out of 70 fuck im dumb :p Hehe, a person from Belgium beat you :P
Rolf Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 I got 40 as well. A person from Norfolk Island beat you. 'Where?' they all chant, as one.
Android18a Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 I got 40 too. I couldn't hear the audio ones very well.
killer kirby Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 i got 38 would have gotten 39 or 40 if it wasn't for those damn pop up's God i hate those pop ups.
Surrealist Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 50/70 Oh Yeah! Pissed off I only got 8/14 for Language though...
Blackfox Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 48/70. Some of them were impossible. I would have also like to have seen the correct answer to some of them instantly. EDIT: I was above average for where i live, and of a similar standard to surgeons And i should really get back to my biology essay :/
The Peeps Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 I got 44/70 Not too bad, it matches the National Average and I'm only 17 so I'm happy with it.
dukkadukka Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 40/70 for me, i must admit i'm a little disappointed offerman, how did you do?
mario114 Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 35, and thats why i got a D in english for my as. -lol, i hate english.
RoadKill Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 I love English, and I love to point out mistakes, it's one of my buttons. However I couldn't find it in myself to complete this test, it was too lame. I got a C at GCSE level for Language and Literature, however I missed an entire test, and half (54 marks, I think) of another, so yeah, I'm not too bad.
