welsh_gamer Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Big Brain Academy Wii £20 at GAME What is this game's RRP? I'm confused.
mcj metroid Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 20 pounds? That's 30 euros really i thought the game was full price. That's what the price should be actually.
Cube Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Big Brain Academy Wii £20 at GAME What is this game's RRP? I'm confused. I thought it was £40. It's $49.99 in the US.
Goron_3 Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I thought it was £40. It's $49.99 in the US. Maybe we're not getting fucked over for a change... na, what am I thinking!
mcj metroid Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Maybe we're not getting fucked over for a change... na, what am I thinking! ya what WERE you thinking dear lord. Let's be realistic here:P
Hero-of-Time Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Just checked Gameplay and they have it down for £17.99! http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/productpage.asp?productcode=NW0038&title=big_brain_academy_ Looks like Retro Link got his wish! Im sooooooooo buying this now.
dazzybee Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Okay, the game got average reviews but for £16.99 on PLAY and £19.99 RRP surely this is a must buy isn't it? What's annoying is that all the magizines gave it average-poor scores because it should have been a budget title - well it IS a budget title! So is it worth buying?
theguyfromspark Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 This is interesting actually. If this game was 30-40 quid, pretty much nobody would buy it. But now it's listed as 17-20 quid I imagine they'll sell tons, in fact i imagine they'll sell well over three times the amount they would have sold if it was twice the price. Maybe this will encourage other publishers to lower their prices over here at it will give them a better return due to increased sales.
Zechs Merquise Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 A great and popular fanchise on the DS gets the Wii treatment at a budget price. Worth it? I reckon so! £17 at Play, not bad at all.
Ashley Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I noticed the £20 price point while mooching on the site at work earlier. £15 with discount is tempting.
theguyfromspark Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Proving my point a little, looks like we have at least 4 people who are going to buy the game who wouldn't have it was full price. I hope publishers take notice.
Nicktendo Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Got this today from an indy retailer selling it early GREAT GAME! definately worth 20 quid! The best in the "brain" series so far and AWESOME in multiplayer!
Excelle Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 I was in two minds whether to get this or not, then I discovered I could buy it for £14.72 from Choices UK (retail price + 5% off voucher)! BARGAIN! http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80915&highlight=brain+academy
ShadowV7 Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 I wouldn't of got this if it was priced even at £30,wouldn't be worth it to me. But now I'm getting it for £17.They made the right decision, will sell much more.
flameboy Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 ooh. To get or not to get? Can't decide. Your obviously in the same mind as me! For me this still looks like a poor mans version of the DS one's in some ways, I don't think the challenges are anywhere near as interesting. Plus I think the the multiplayer is abit stupid how it doesn't allow for use of 4 wiimotes. But still I want something that I can visit daily having got bored of doing my fitness age in wii sports.
Owen Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 I don't think you can go wrong for £20 quid. You may find it even cheaper and if you rent it from Choices or Blockbusters (which is nearly £5 anyway, kind-of...lol) you might as well buy it anyway. I like the sound of the menu game, where you hold the remote like a phone and people ask for certain items down the microphone and you have to remember them.
flameboy Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Anyone got this? I'm gonna hold back for now, got my old job back at HMV so gonna wait till payday and get it with staff discount...
DiemetriX Posted July 20, 2007 Author Posted July 20, 2007 It's cool ... but not worth the cash IMO. Could have been a Wii Ware game. Not much there. After 1hour you have seen it all.
Owen Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 It's cool ... but not worth the cash IMO. Could have been a Wii Ware game. Not much there. After 1hour you have seen it all. Agreed. £20 is even a little too much.... Still, the Marathon game with another player is pretty good! and i like the remembering phone orders one too!
flameboy Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 still not worth £20, jeez can't be that good. perhaps they like suggest should have released it as a Wiiware game or even a channel?
Chris the great Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 i like it, got it on a whim and its nice to really think for a change, nice break from playing final fantasy all the time, rather refreshing to have a game that lasts five mins and makes you fell good as you see your brain grow. its also going to be poular at uni, gonna solve a few arguments. i do agree that you see it all in an hour, but wii sports is just the same, only i dont think that this has a weak area ulike wii sports which had to dire baseball. fun untill you get a couple of home runs and the magic fades.
dannbrownn Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 I have been playing this quite a lot! it is just the sort of thing that i can't stop playing, endlessly trying to up my grade! Anyone wanna exchange records, hit me with a PM and i will add you to my friends list!
