fex Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 (edited) Wow i maybe was to young to remeber the prices of the N64 games, or maybe i just bought them all second hand, I just found a copy if Extreme G, with the orginal price on...... ?59.99 OMFG!! and people are moaning about the PS3 prices. Although by looking at the front of the box, they are PS3 GFX I can remember a friend trading 3 N64 games and paying ?30 to get Banjo Kazooie when that was released. ________ Top penny stocks Edited April 28, 2011 by fex
*Dalco* Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 ye they were quite expensive, i remember some games even being 65 quid on launch!

fex Posted September 7, 2006 Author Posted September 7, 2006 (edited) Wow how on earth did i ever afford to have an N64!! I'm sure VR racing for the mega drive was about ?70-?80 which in those days must of been **** loads! ________ Black anal Edited April 28, 2011 by fex

nekunando Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 ..I only remember the games being £39.99/£49.99 for the N64.. Donkey Kong 64 was £59.99.. moral of the story: don't buy games from where that guy bought Extreme G..

Zell Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I remember once I was going to buy Perfect Dark + Expansion Pack but it was like £80 for both or something stupid like that.
Sméagol Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Hmm, with all the currencies (gulden here and then, euros here and now, pounds in the UK etc) I don't know if it's cheaper or more expansive these days.. I do remember realizing Super Mario 64 was cheaper then Super Mario Bros 3 was. Æ’ 129,- and Æ’ 149,- respectively, if I remember correctly. The last price also being the regular price for a new N64 game. About 3 gulden (guilders) used to convert to 1 pound, so say £ 50,-. I also remember a long time ago, seeing a Batman game for the NES selling for Æ’ 180,- (£ 60,-). And I think I bought the N64 at launch for Æ’ 499,-. Similar to the story above, it dropped Æ’ 100,- not long after.. When a friend bought his . I didn't mind though. Personally I thought my N64 was well worth it.. And Conker's bad fur day was pretty expensive, also Æ’ 180,- I think, but then again, it was pretty Rare (haha, whoei!).
Cube Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 ..I only remember the games being £39.99/£49.99 for the N64.. Donkey Kong 64 was £59.99 Which was only because Nintendo refused to make a version without the expansion pak (for the people who already had one)
AshMat Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Which was only because Nintendo refused to make a version without the expansion pak (for the people who already had one) Was Yamauchi still the president at the time?
BeerMonkey Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 most i remember spending on a game on the N64 was donkey kong cause it had the expansion thing to go inside the console (cant remember the word now for it now) anyways that was £59.99 since then havent spent more then £39.99 for a game
KKOB Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 lets not talk about the price of steel battalion for the xbox at luanch or the current price of a boxed samba de amigo!
Hero-of-Time Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 lets not talk about the price of steel battalion for the xbox at luanch or the current price of a boxed samba de amigo! I had Steel Battalion, played it once and they sold it on Ebay. I couldnt get into it so I thought sod it and boxed it back up. Least I can say I played it, not sure if thats a good thing or not though.....
www.n64fan.co.nr Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Im sure Turok was originally £80-£90 when it first launched. Its funny now how you can pick most of these N64 games up on ebay or gamestation for about £2-£3 each! I've recently been going back and buying all the N64 games I didnt bother with back in the day because they were just too expensive
Zell Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 They were expensive, which caused me at the time to buy a lot more ps1 games than n64 games. Which I now look back on and regret because the n64had many far better titles which were well worth the extra £10/20.
The Peeps Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 The most expensive game I remember seeing was Donkey Kong for £49.99 but it came with an expansion pak.
Zechs Merquise Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I can't remember Extreme G being that much, but I can remember Turok being £60+ on launch, but at the time it was revolutionary, It just felt so good, and looked truly amazing for it's time. Sadly the Turopk series never got any better.
www.n64fan.co.nr Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I think Turok 2 ws pretty awesone. The graphics were amazing. I just remember it got a bit tiresome and the levels were too big. In the end i just gave up with this half way through. Still, this is probably the best Turok game that was realeased. Far better than Turok 1.
Jimbob Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Most expensive game for me was Donkey Kong 64, which cost me £59.99. It did come with an expansion pack, which was handy when i got Perfect Dark a couple of weeks later.
Nintendork Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 £65 was what I remeber being stabdard procedure. I enjoyed my £45 Gran Turismo and FFVII
Mikey Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 So happy we don't have those nasty cardboard boxes now either. They were horrible.
welsh_gamer Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 £59.99 for Donkey Kong 64, £54.99 for Resident Evil 2 and £54.99 for Conkers Bad Fur Day, is the most I ever paid for games! But they were all fantastic games tho! If I had tht money now tho....
nekunando Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 So happy we don't have those nasty cardboard boxes now either. They were horrible. ..am I the only one who kinda liked them..? ..well.. when they were in immaculate condition..
