Patch Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Mine will sit in midair above my head, suspended from the ceiling by a fine string.
Pestneb Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 depends where it fits. it will either go horizontal on the same shelf my cube is on, or depending on the new tv I plan on getting, vertically on the same shelf as my PC.
Guest Stefkov Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 probably horizontal over my 360 to the left of my tv, in a little cupboard, with no door mind so you can see it in al its glory. or ill clean my desk and have it sit right next to my tv vertically or horizontal depending on how much crap i got and how many controllers will get. then the sensor bar thing under my tv or on top not decided yet, i dont htink itll balance on it on top.
knightendo Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Anybody else worries about having the GCN controllers coming out of the top? I know how excited people can get during 4 player MK:DD and I don't want my Wii to get pulled over and shattered into 150 pieces (all costing £1 each!) maybe we should invest in more wavebirds then i'm actually planning on it, as i have one already and using wires with Wii just feels wrong... lol.
BeerMonkey Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 vertically next to my xbox tempted to sell the xbox thou when get the wii
MunKy Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Im not even sure whether its gonna be with me or here at my dads. Shit, all this time anticipating the Wii and I might not even have the chance to own one and actually play it. Probably be vert when I get one and decide on its location.
The3rdChildren Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Horizontal, because the thought of it falling over fills me with fear. Plus I've always kept consoles horizontal.
Mokong Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Never really thought about, i've got my TV sitting on top a wodden cupboard like stand, directly under the TV is a small shelf which my Sky digibox sits in. Ubder that it a cupboard like area which houses my DVD recorder, ontop of which sits my N64 and Gamecube, i'll prolly have to box up the N64 a place it in the attic with my NES and SNES to make room for the Wii. I'll prolly stand it vertically, but i think i'm gonna try place it outside the cupboard so that it is on display and easily visible to be shown off
Pestneb Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 maybe we should invest in more wavebirds then i'm actually planning on it, as i have one already and using wires with Wii just feels wrong... lol. my cube was felled, not from a great height, about the same height as 25 stacked DVD cases. it has lived a good life, although it refuses to play a few of my games (most noticeably mariokart, timesplitters, viewtiful joe) but plays the majority of games.

The fish Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Mine's already got a space left empty for it next to my 360. It's going to be white (to match the 360) and be vertical in the stand.
Kurtle Squad Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I'll check how it looks; though I'll probably only be able to fit it inder my TV horizontally, especially if i wanted to use the GC ports.
Charlie Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Vertically, next to my 360 which is also vertical (or it will be when I get it back)
Sméagol Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I'll buy a glass cased vertical windtunnel to have it suspended in air! I seem to be in the minority, but I'm definately going horizontal (..). I don't mind vertical setups in general, but the Wii.. Looks rediculous with that stand, in my opinion. I hate that tilted "pose", especially viewed from the side (I love rectangular shapes, with the stand, it loses that shape). Also, I think horizontal will be more practical. For memory cards, (GameCube) controllers, and inserting discs.
Emasher Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Diagnolly. When you get your wii be sure to post a picture. Edit: oh ya and mine will definately go virticaly.

For memory cards, (GameCube) controllers, and inserting discs. autistic? heh, kidding. i agree though, it does look very much like a poser. also a VERY good call by Jamba re: the gamecube controllers. with a system, which is vertical beside a television, it will be VERY inconvenient. good chance of wires getting annoying, and the worry of it falling. now look. you cant diss people who worry about this kind of thing. i know that i dont have the money to run out and buy a bunch of wavebirds for the convenience, and at the same time i WILL worry heaps about my expensive piece of hardware breaking, because i simply dont trust peoples intelligence enough to: a) build a stand that will make it 100% safe b) not pull a frigging controller wire or chuck a controller when they get too excited. (i know, because my brother has chucked his controller when being absolutely pummeled in melee...) c) trip over cords coming out of back of system. hell, my gamecube has ended up hitting the floor after some dick decided to walk through some wires. after hearing some very good points from you guys, im still gonna stay with the minority have have my wii horizontal.
fatnickc Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I'm not too sure yet. I might put it vertically (or horizontally...) where my GC currently is and put that somewhere else, or I might leave my GC there and put the Wii lying on top of my TV. We'll see, I suppose. I think the stand will have those black sticky-ish pads on the bottom that hold it down enough, but not so much that it gets stuck when you want to move it.
trondjac Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Vertically, right next to my TV! The same goes for me
Owen Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Anybody else worries about having the GCN controllers coming out of the top? I know how excited people can get during 4 player MK:DD and I don't want my Wii to get pulled over and shattered into 150 pieces (all costing £1 each!) I did think of that, but then forgot i thought of it....well thought though! This is a good point! BUT i doubt i'll be playing GC games on it...so i may go vertical!

That Guy Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Vertically, next to my 360 which is also vertical (or it will be when I get it back) Same, although, I agree about the whole fear factor in vertical consoles...
