Chris the great Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Also on Die hard 4.0 Totaly loved it, big balls out american action fest. Ok, so its fanciful and over the top, but if i wanted real life i'd watch myself in the mirror. Willis was old but they kinda made it work, he's as big a smart ass as always and an arrogant jerk, but you love him. his side kick guy is also pretty cool, like a total oppsite to him but again likable. the villan was ok, not a patch on 1 or 3's but still pretty bad ass. totaly worth watching, its not going to change modern cinema or win any awards, but i never felt bored and my £4.50 felt well spent. 7/10 as for the harsh treatment of die hard 2, i know it aint great but its not the worst film ever.
My Buttons are Magic! Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Wickerman (nicholas cage et al) was funny - jumpy in some places 9
bob Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 I won't ruin it if you haven't seen it but theres breathtaking use of light and music in the penultimate scene. Aw crap. Well theres another film i won't bother seeing. Ruined.
welsh_gamer Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Shrek 3 Was ok. A few laughs, but not as good as the second. Gingy's life flashing before his life scene, and the pig shouting "sausage roll" had me laughing out loud. 6/10
Chris the great Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Aw crap. Well theres another film i won't bother seeing. Ruined. Well I coulden't say which scene it was, as it gives away the ending. Thats why I said "I won't ruin it". Arsehole.
harribo Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 Well I coulden't say which scene it was, as it gives away the ending. Thats why I said "I won't ruin it". Arsehole. And the winner of biggest overreaction ever goes too....

Noodleman Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Wickerman (nicholas cage et al) was funny - jumpy in some places 9 Watch the original its about a billion times better.
Noodleman Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 The Wickerman remake, is perhaps the worst film of all time. Fuckin horrific studio cash-in, that doesnt stick to the ethics of the original in anyway. AVOID! Although it does feature Nic Cage in a Bear Suit punching women. Which is strangly hilarious.
The Bard Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Die Hard 4. Sometimes the dialogue was cringeworthy, eg Farrels (?) rant about the news was so embarrassingly cliched. The bad guy was lame. Action was immense though. 7/10. On par with Die Hard 2 I'd say, not as good as 1 and 3. A lot better than I thought it would be though.
mcj metroid Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 The Wickerman remake, is perhaps the worst film of all time. Fuckin horrific studio cash-in, that doesnt stick to the ethics of the original in anyway. AVOID! I would agree. It wasn't supposed to be funny I would think.
triforce_keeper Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Shrek 3 Was ok. A few laughs, but not as good as the second. Gingy's life flashing before his life scene, and the pig shouting "sausage roll" had me laughing out loud. 6/10 Haha me the same :P Those were the best parts, also I love how Sleeping Beauty keeps falling asleep! Even in the big fight scene at the end!
Solo Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Die Hard 4.0 Wow! Where do I start. Now, i'm a massive fan of the franchise (bar the 2nd film) and I was very dubious about this film as far as the plot and how old Bruce Willis is. How many times can one guy really be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Well i'm willing to forget the 2nd one actually happened so that's 3 times now. To be honest though once it gets started, the action starts flowing, John McLains doing his thing, you really just don't care and it just becomes another Die Hard. I'm happy to say this film deserves a place in the franchise as much as any of the others. It's not the desperate cash in I expected and it stayed true to its roots. Kudos to the director for pulling it off. Also the characters along side him are better than I thought they'd be and the plot is just fine for a Die Hard film. It really says something when Hollywood needs to bring back characters like John Mclain to make a decent action film. It's like watching an 80's action film just in present day and I loved it. 9/10 Keh? Die Hard 2 was fantastic, much more in tone with the original than 3 and 4. I mean c'mon man if you're a fan Hostel Part II It seemed more light hearted than the first, unfortunately there were less porn scenes and the torture stuff wasn't as shocking second time round, still, it beats the Saw sequels at least. 6/10
ReZourceman Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Wow....Live Free or Die Hard (Refuse to call it the English title) is fucking awesome. Justin Long cannot star in a bad film...fact. 9.4.0/10
The Bard Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 ^ Err. He was in Jeepers Creepers. Lay off the doobie mate.
ReZourceman Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 ^ Err. He was in Jeepers Creepers. Lay off the doobie mate. Jeepers Creepers....it sounds familliar. My mind is trying to remember it....its like....its like its been burnt away from my memory...gggrrrraaaghhHGHHH! Nope. Cant recall it.
killthenet Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Jeepers Creepers was a Broadway show about a messianic slacker. It opened and closed the same night.
Paj! Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Alien Vs. Predator (second watch) It's not as bad as everyone says,IMO. I think I should stop thinking of it as an Alien film (no experience of the predator films- dont appeal to me), and instead see it as the prequel to the Alien series. It's just not scary, or overly exciting. Alien was scary, beucase of the surprise, and Aliens was amazing becuase of suspense and excitment rolled into one. AVP is really just a mediocre action flick. 7/10
Oxigen_Waste Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Transformers Every single scene with the transformers is almost perfect. The human characters are kinda rubbish, though. So: 9.5 (must resist the 10... :S) for the "transformers" part of te movie. 6.5 for the "human" part (Megan Fox stands out with the worst actress of the year award ). Also, Bumblebee has got to be one of the best characters ever to be in a movie. AND IN ADDITION... Was I the only one who got pissed when Bumblebee had his extreme makeover? I mean... I hate nowdays' sport cars, but old Camaros are just... too awesome.
