Pokken Tournament (Wii U Spring 2016)

That would be pretty surprising, considering that the Wii U currently has no support for USB controllers (even the Pro Controller still communicates via Bluetooth when plugged in). Unless it connects via the GCN controller adapter perhaps, but that's just absurd :p

Seems like it would be much easier for all involved if it was just a reskinned Classic Controller, like most Wii/Wii U accessories. There's zero noticeable latency with Nintendo's wireless controllers anyway :p

Protocols for it could be included in the game

The simplicity. With the 150 I knew which pokemon I had and which I was yet to capture. With X/Y I need to use the pokedex to see a blank space.. and really can't be bothered finding them all.

Possibly that is because since the originals, X/Y is the first game I tried, so I guess the learning curve was much steeper. But that perhaps would be my point - that the originals were far more accessible.

And people bitching, naturally

"Waaaa I don't want to use the GamePad in an actual useful way"

:p

You need to learn to just ignore those people :p

It's a no-brainer. From the very beginning when I saw the game, I said that this is exactly the way it was going to work. It's the only realistic way it can work (each player is supposed to have their own private perspective). You can't do that with splitscreen!

Gets revealed on my birthday, huh?

Hmmm... Suspicious...

And the only not-Groudon Pokemon on that list Serebii posted that I actually use on my actual team is Hydreigon.

And there's not a single playable Gen 5 Pokemon yet...

I would totally be up for playable Hydreigon.

If it's another Gen 1 Pokemon, someone's getting Dynamic Punched.

I can't believe Hitmonlee & Hitmonchan aren't in this already! Surely they're no-brainers for this. ::shrug:

That's what they said about Hawlucha... Look at how that turned out.

I believe they're going out of their way to avoid bunching up too many of the same type.

Machamp is cooler anyway.

We are missing Bug and Dragon types...

It's not one, but THREE new Pokemon that were announced (and amazingly enough, none of them were Pikachu!)

It's Garchomp, Mewtwo (not the weird Shadow one, but the normal one) and Braixen (Really? Braixen? Really?, filling in that Ivysaur slot I see :p)

So Braixen gets into Pokken, Greninja gets into Smash, while Chesnaught gets...

More info...

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1170905

Some modes have been announced for the Wii U version of Pokkén Tournament. First is the standard Single Battle, which has three different difficulty levels. Next is the previously announced local battle where one player plays on the GamePad and another with a standard controller. During this mode, the game will run at 30fps rather than the standard 60fps. Finally is the online mode which has rankings and competitions. It also states that you can use a LAN Cable to link two Wii Us

Bugger :( Good news about the LAN mode, but I'm gutted to hear that they couldn't pull off 60FPS x 2 for the Gamepad local multiplayer mode...
