Retro_Link Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Funnily enough the honeymoon hunt has been my designated job for a while, I mentioned to her Monaco, and she loved the look of it (who wouldn't) then I said why not wait till the 22nd May for our honeymoon... She seemed to already know it would be because it fell on some sporting event.... When she found out it was Monaco Grand Prix, that destination has since been taking off the list. :pAnd you're marrying this woman!! :p China, Bahrain, Spain, Monaco, take your pick! Just keep it quiet
Cube Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Skipping hours of your honeymoon to watch some cars drive in circles probably isn't a good idea anyway.

Esequiel Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Dont do Egypt dude, i went in March to sharm el sheik. Went to the best place on trip advisor, the coral sea splash resort and it was awful. Its a really filthy place, the hotel was decent enough but the guys there are all pervy. You get hassled everytime you step out of the compound. It was the most hectic and stresfull holiday iv ever had! Try Bora Bora?
Emma Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Both of Dan's brothers went to Thainland on their honeymoons and loved it. One of them went here then on to singapore.
bob Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Both of Dan's brothers went to Thainland on their honeymoons and loved it. One of them went here then on to singapore. Dan's brothers married each other? Hey i'm all for equal rights and everything, but that's weird.
James Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Thailand is fantastic and a beautiful place, I'd probably skip Bangkok and head to the islands as quick as possible. So much great stuff and the accommodation is cheap for what you can find. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
MoogleViper Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Unfortunately Weather would be a factor, would have to be hot. I've been skiing with Heather and she really didn't get on with it, not just the skiing aspect, but also the general snow snow snow everywhere. What about somewhere like Ireland? Or are you specifically looking for somewhere hot/far away?
Rummy Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Bruges? I've heard it's like a fairytale. Seriously, I have no actual ideas. My 'travelling' is mostly to America, where I mostly spend time with family getting constantly drunk. I think the best question to ask is, what do you really sort of want from the honeymoon?
jayseven Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Is May the set time of year to do it? And do you know how long you'd want to travel?
Mr-Paul Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Bruges? I've heard it's like a fairytale. I was in Bruges at the weekend and it's a lovely city. Definitely lives up to it's "Venice of the North" nickname. Although, I don't really think it's a honeymoon location, more of a weekend away type of thing.
MoogleViper Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Bruges? I've heard it's like a fairytale. I don't think it's his sort of thing.
Magnus Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 They made a whole movie about how horrible Bruges is. At least I think that was the point of the movie.
bob Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 All I got was that Ralph Fiennes wife was an inanimate fucking object.
Murr Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 Is May the set time of year to do it? And do you know how long you'd want to travel? Getting Married on 26th April, with the intention of setting off a couple of days after the wedding, so would be the start of May. When you say how long i'd want to travel, do you mean as in, how long it'd take to travel to the destination or how long the honeymoon would be? Not to worried about how long the actual travel to the destination is, and as for length of the holiday, would be 14 nights, but we've got enough time off for a few days off after we get home to readjust to the time zones etc.
jayseven Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Sorry if my message seemed abrupt - of course May would be set You could do a bit of singapore/thailand on the way to, say, Oz or NZ? I like the sound of mexico - you could do a week there then a week in brazil? I've not trotted the globe much so I always imagine I want to blitz about the place, or that two weeks in one place isn't enough time. It's probably not. Plus to be fair trying to do singapore/thai and one of the antipodes would probably be far too much!
nightwolf Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 You could spend part of the holiday in Phuket, which as @nightwolf will tell you, is awesome.! I've not actually been yet. I will say that I've heard nothing but good things, its cheap over there and you get incredible hotels for the price. The only thing you have to fork out for is the flights, which set me and my friend back quite a bit (the holiday each was over a grand.)
Murr Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 Bit of a bump, But looks like we're finally decided on destination. We've found some good prices for Cuba. We've been getting prices for both of us all inclusive at around £3050. I'm trying to see how much it would increase the price for a 1 or 2 night stop at Miami either on the way to, or way home. Practically right next door :p But yeah, thanks for the help and suggestions.
