Sheikah Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I'm still amazed more people are buying it; who doesn't already have it that wants it?
Daft Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Funny you should say that, I'm waiting for the PS4 version to come out.
Mr-Paul Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Crazy that Tomodachi Life is doing so well. Haven't seen any advertising for it at all, and it's a very niche sort of title to be that high in the charts.
Serebii Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Crazy that Tomodachi Life is doing so well. Haven't seen any advertising for it at all, and it's a very niche sort of title to be that high in the charts. Same here. I remember it starting off rather poorly, too, but it seems to have grown.
lostmario Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 What is the deal with Pokemon Black & White returning to the top 20?
Hero-of-Time Posted July 21, 2014 Author Posted July 21, 2014 What is the deal with Pokemon Black & White returning to the top 20? Argos were selling them for like £8 or something.
liger05 Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Mario Kart is quite the phenomenon. It's proved me wrong and I really didn't think it would hold for so long.
Ganepark32 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Yeah, I think it's less Mario Kart 8 being a sales phenomenon but rather that game sales are down across the board as a whole which is helping it maintain it's chart position, and also explains why Pokémon Black and White have resurfaced in the charts through Argos' sale of them at £8. Would need to see Wii U hardware sales to see how much of an impact it's having currently as it's most likely now just sales based on those who already have the console and less new users buying both (not wanting to be all doom and gloom but that's what I suspect it is). Always quiet during July sales wise, should pick up a little next month but we'll get a better gauging of how it's really holding up come September once some of the big titles start to release. I suspect it probably won't hold up well over September-November but will pick up again towards the end of November and in December for the holidays.
Hero-of-Time Posted July 22, 2014 Author Posted July 22, 2014 I suspect it probably won't hold up well over September-November but will pick up again towards the end of November and in December for the holidays. September will belong to Destiny. October is gonna be a bloodbath with the amount of titles being released then.
Josh64 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Tomodachi Life really is crazy, I never expected it to sell this well, especially considering it debuted at like... #14 or something? Still, it's good news all the same. Hopefully means we get to see some more quirky titles make their way over here.
lostmario Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 October is going to be awesome. What is being released in October?
Fierce_LiNk Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 What is being released in October? Alien Isolation Battlefield Hardline DriveClub Evolve The Evil Within (not sure if this will end up being good though) Assassin's Creed Unity Then there's a few games on the "fringe" which I don't know an awful lot about but may actually be decent: Dragon Age: Inquisition Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor A few sports titles such as NBA and WWE. Edit: And as Serebii says, Bayonetta 2 for WiiU. Not sure if releasing that in October was a smart decision.
Daft Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 OMG Flinky, Shadow of Mordor looks like one of the best games in October. Upgrade dat shit on yo list. I'm seriously looking forward to Drive Club, Alien Isolation and Shadow of Mordor. Evolve too, but I think it'll lose out to Destiny when it comes to my interest, we'll see.
Map Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 OMG Flinky, Shadow of Mordor looks like one of the best games in October. Upgrade dat shit on yo list. Yeah, dat Nemesis system sounds amazing!

I'm seriously looking forward to Drive Club, Alien Isolation and Shadow of Mordor. Evolve too, but I think it'll lose out to Destiny when it comes to my interest, we'll see. Really? I looked at some videos of it and thought that the concept looked good, but I imagined it would be one of these games that would look better than it played. Hmm, confusing. Evolve looks great, imo. But, for me, Alien is the game of October by a country mile. I might not even insert the game into the drive on release. I think I'll caress the disc all night whilst serenading it with the soundtrack by Jerry Goldsmith and whispering sweet nurturing sounds of love. Basically, hnnnnnnng. Freeze me until October.
Daft Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Like Map said, have a look at the Nemesis system. It looks like Assassin's Creed meets Batman Arkham City meets Lord of the Rings. I absolutely cannot wait. I have my fingers and toes crossed.

I absolutely cannot wait. I have my fingers and toes crossed. It reminded me of Arkham City, funny that you mention that. Mostly from the gameplay, I mean. I read some of the comments on the youtube video I watched and some had written it off as an Assassin's Creed clone. For me, it's one that I can't get excited about until I see some more impressions/reviews. I keep waking up with cold sweats and have bad dreams about Alien turning out like Colonial Marines. I'll just leave this here. Please don't let this happen again. I beg you.
Hero-of-Time Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 Nintendo's stock goes up. Nintendo climbed 3.4 percent to 12,925 yen, its highest close since Feb. 26. Morgan Stanley MUFG Securities Co. analyst Mia Nagasaka raised its investment rating on the game-maker to equal-weight from underweight.Nintendo's stock value has had a funny year, with a rapid spike and equally sudden decline showing how temperamental the markets can be. Since late January the big N's stock has fluctuated, but the general trend has been upwards. We reported on this in some detail in late May, with the value heading back to stable levels seen throughout much of 2013. The past couple of days have brought more landmarks that may give Nintendo's management some cause for a smile, especially ahead of the Q1 financial results being published at the end of July. On 22nd July Nintendo stock jumped — along with some others in a positive day in Tokyo — by 3.4 percent to 12,925, a high point since 26th February. Today's close brought a further increase of 0.89%, taking Nintendo past the 13,000 mark to 13,040 Yen. The price will naturally wobble around over the next week, but it'll be interesting to see how Nintendo's business has performed in Q1 of this financial year, and how that'll affect stock value.
Kaepora_Gaebora Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Titanfall has extraordinary legs on it as well, really has held up well in the chart considering it's an exclusive to the One!
