Hero-of-Time Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 (edited) Travel back to the world of Albion with this Kinect exclusive game. Edited June 6, 2011 by Hero-of-Time
Eddage Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Looks awful, on rails Kinect rubbish, was getting a bit bored of Fable anyway but after that video I couldn't be more uninterested!
Jimbob Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 No thanks Lionhead. Fable III showed signs you were losing the touch, and this proves to me that you have lost the touch.
Murr Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Sad day.... I'd of gladly snapped up Fable 4 but Fable Kinnect... no thanks.
mike-zim Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 I have just seen a Gameplay video of this and i must say i think it looks pretty cool. Have a look for yourself!
Burny Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 (edited) At least you don't have to shout the name of each spell every time: Not that there's much dignity left to lose when you're doing dramatic poses in front of the TV. :p Edited July 21, 2011 by Burny
mike-zim Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 No not kidding. I think it could be fun. I will wait to see more on it but it might be the first step to actually making some decent Kinect games. It is all about testing the waters!
LegoMan1031 Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 No not kidding. I think it could be fun. I will wait to see more on it but it might be the first step to actually making some decent Kinect games. It is all about testing the waters! It looks to be on rails though and didn't seem very responsive, which instantly removes aspects from a game. Shooters like House of the Dead are good for it but for a Fable!? If it is on rails as well then it is another point to prove that Kinect alone will never be a 'full controller' as you instantly lose things etc
Magnus Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Molyneux has gone on record saying that the full game will not be on rails. Of course, he says a lot of things.
Happenstance Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Apparently he went really weird during E3 with the whole "on rails" thing. He tried to get a load of gaming journalists to sign a wall after a presentation to confirm that the game wasnt actually on rails.
Cube Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Molyneux has gone on record saying that the full game will not be on rails. Here's the quote: The watchword for Lionhead when building this game is “freedom†with the press conference demo intentionally restricted to rails in order to show off the spellcasting and combat system. As Molyneux told us today “You’re free to navigate and move round however you like. Free to take different pathways, free to go off-road. From the way he described this, I believe it translates as: "This is an on-rails game. However, at certain points you can explore side-paths and at other points you can choose between two different roads."
mike-zim Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Really? “You’re free to navigate and move round however you like." sound to me like You’re free to navigate and move round however you like
Cube Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Really? “You’re free to navigate and move round however you like." sound to me like You’re free to navigate and move round however you like But you need to translate it from Molyneux language.
Jimbob Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 But you need to translate it from Molyneux language. Oh, the legendary Molyneux language. Weapons morph as you use them, getting sharper and precise per strike More like Weapons change shape, depending on which enemy you hit most of Not the same thing. If Molyneux says one thing, take it with the entire salt-shaker. Not just a pinch. He says one thing, and what he says never comes into the light of day.
Dyson Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 He's also a dick. Came in to the store I worked in and had a holier-than-thou attitude to the staff. Which is a shame
Cube Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Interesting how he managed to completely avoid how this multiple-path on-rails game actually plays. Also: Interesting gameplay mechanics give the whole "what if I do this?" feeling, and is frankly much better to "how the **** do you control this?".
Jimbob Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 I'm still not sure on this. Fair enough, you can move around. But at the same time, it feels very 1 direction, which isn't something i particulary like in games. I suppose time will tell if it is something to look at, but for now i'm still saying no.
dwarf Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 That interview made me want to golf club him in the jaw.
Deathjam Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 You watch 8 minutes of a Lead Designer talking about his game, and yet come away knowing next to nothing of said game. Waste of 8 minutes. EDIT: That PR person should really just pull the trigger of that shotgun he mentions.
