Cube Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I agree. I'm thinking maybe he'll be some sort of scientist whom he based the Terminator model on himself. I heard something about how that was one of the ditched plots from Salvation, but where it was the T-1000 guy working on liquid metal. Salvation was a mess. I didn't quite understand why they took Kyle Reese (as he was a nobody) unless Skynet knew that he was John's dad (in which case, they would have killed him instantly). Speaking of Kyle, Chekov as Kyle was much more believable than Batman as John. Sarah Connor Chronicles did the right thing: It wrote-out T3 and brought one of the important things about the series back: hope that the war may still be prevented, while also allowing some great future-war scenes. The characters were also brilliant (a few I hated to begin with but became brilliant once you found out a lot more about them). I would love to see some of these make at least a cameo during the Terminator films. The human that Cameron used to be sounded like she was an important part of the resistance at one point.
bryanee Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 T3 isnt that bad, a little to much humour and that chap playing Conner was bloody terrible but T3 does have some pretty cool action especially the vehicle chase. I'm all for a new one its not like I'm one of those people that let sequels ruin my memories of past installments.

Anton Yelchin was awesome as Kyle Reese because he behaved in a way similar to Kyle in the first Terminator film. The way he spoke and acted, the guy clearly did his research. Hell, he even looked like Kyle (Michael Biehn) at times. Good bit of casting.
Daft Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 In many ways, the ending to TSCC was bitterly stunning.
Cube Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 In many ways, the ending to TSCC was bitterly stunning. This may sound utterly strange, but it actually reminded me of the opening story of Wind Waker.
Iun Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 T-Salvo was ok, but Christian Bale just annoyed me in it. He was a poor John Connor. Why stop at "a poor John Connor"? He was a poor...everything.
flameboy Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 They should just make this new movie the ending to the Sarah Connor Chronicles, thats something id much rather see! YES....The single best Terminator thing since T2. Also the ending was a brilliant WTF moment T3 was alright just that bit too comical and Nick Stahl was awful as Connor just a whining bitch. I did think the ending was kind of cool how it left us on the brink of the war. Although I do hate how it completely undid "no fate but we make" by claiming Judgement Day was inevitable. Salvation was a piece of shit...Although in its original form it did sound better. The focus was on Kyle which would have been genius considering how well the guy played him, John Connor was going to be nothing more than a voice on the airways leading the resistance but then Christian Bale jumped on board and a rewrite was done and it became what it is. Also one of the original endings was bizarre had them getting into skynet and finding a human theme park of types because it turns out skynet was actually trying to preserve mankind all along. Going forward, I can't see Arnie doing the scientist role and being a lead in that role it would seem so hamfisted and shitty. So that leaves us with two solutions, well 3 actually will they simply just have him as the terminator and not explain why he has aged? Use anti-aging tech like Tron (which might not work as well as it did in a totally CGI world) or explain a reason why he may have aged? I'm guessing the flesh on a T800 would still age perhaps? Perhaps they could have him being sent back in time and somehow been deactivated for a long time. One thing I'd like to see is Arnie back as the villain, not sure if he himself would want to but it would be awesome. Personally I'd rather wait until 2018 when the rights revert back to James Cameron.
Rinha Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Personally I'd rather wait until 2018 when the rights revert back to James Cameron. I couldn't agree more with this. I believe that the only way to save the series now would be to have a T5 by Cameron. Personally, I would love to see that happening; just don't know if it will. Just dont want more of T-Salvation. Please. *Hugs knees and cries*
Fierce_LiNk Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Why stop at "a poor John Connor"? He was a poor...everything. It's still not totally safe to talk ill of The Dark Knight yet. I agree, though. He was a shit Batman as well as a bad John Connor. Plus, that Christian Bale remix has just ruined any credibility that he had for Terminator Salvation. He should have just kept his nose out. Its a much better film without his intervention.
Pancake Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 He was a shit Batman *is wildly offended by this comment*
Retro_Link Posted May 1, 2011 Author Posted May 1, 2011 (edited) He was a shit BatmanYou're about as wrong as you can be! The only thing that could be more wrong is if you called the N64 Grey!... oh wait! :p Anyway, Umm... http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/news/a317129/terminator-5-to-be-a-reboot.html Terminator 5 will reportedly reboot the Terminator franchise. However, according to Latino Review, the tentatively-titled Terminator 2012 is to feature the entire original cast. The original Terminator was released in 1984. It was helmed by Avatar director James Cameron and featured Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn in addition to Schwarzenegger. Terminator 2 followed in 1991. It also starred Hamilton and Schwarzenegger, as well as Edward Furlong. Two more sequels were made in the 2000s, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Terminator Salvation. Terminator 2012 will allegedly negate the events of the latter two sequels. The film reportedly involves time travel to the present day and includes an older Sarah Connor - played by Hamilton in the first two movies - who is alive in the year 2012. Terminator 2012 is scheduled for 2014. Edited May 1, 2011 by Retro_Link
mcj metroid Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Nobody does action movies like James Cameron, so frankly until he's back at the helm nothing is going to be as good at Terminator 2.. In fact in my opinion nothing will ever be better than T2.. It's simply the perfect action movie. But terminator 3 wasn't THAT bad. Certainly better than Salvation.
Fierce_LiNk Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 *is wildly offended by this comment* Maybe growling like a bear is your thing, but it's not what the Batman should be. Plus, his Bruce Wayne was just...it didn't exist. He is upstaged in both films by Liam Neeson, Cillian Murphy and Heath Ledger. They all make far more watch-worthy characters than he does.
mcj metroid Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 *is wildly offended by this comment* But... he was a shit batman... I thought this was a given.. He was great when he had the mask off... that's about it.
Fierce_LiNk Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Wait, what? There was a Terminator 4? Ya rly. It came after T3. You holocaust denier!
Ashley Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 I'd much rather see a film about Sarah Connor (or of course a continuation of TSCC), particularly if Linda Hamilton is reprising the role. Give me an action chick over a pea-brained muscled man any day :p
Fierce_LiNk Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 But... he was a shit batman... I thought this was a given.. He was great when he had the mask off... that's about it. Does Iun have a double account or is that you Mcj? Also, wasn't McG the guy who did T-Salvo? Co-incidence?
mcj metroid Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Does Iun have a double account or is that you Mcj? Also, wasn't McG the guy who did T-Salvo? Co-incidence? Terrible grammer, Too many dots and swearing.. I assure you it's MCJ Give me an action chick over a pea-brained muscled man any day :p Then you should LOVE aliens.
Fierce_LiNk Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Terrible grammer, Too many dots and swearing.. I assure you it's MCJ Then you should LOVE aliens. I didn't swear. Wtf.
Pancake Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Maybe growling like a bear is your thing, but it's not what the Batman should be. Says who?? You wanna mess with THAT guy??!!
Ashley Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Then you should LOVE aliens. Believe it or not I've never seen it in its entirety. I know right? I need someone to give me the DVDs and time. And as a side point: I love Liz Lemon's impersonation of Batman. Not available on the internet though. Damn NBC!
Fierce_LiNk Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Says who?? You wanna mess with THAT guy??!! Cmaaan. Keaton's Batman was a lot more law-enforcery.
Retro_Link Posted May 1, 2011 Author Posted May 1, 2011 (edited) Says who?? You wanna mess with THAT guy??!! ... Yeah it would take a brave person to mess with... wait who is that... Rabbit Man? Bale > All others for me. Edited May 1, 2011 by Retro_Link
Cube Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Nobody does action movies like James Cameron, so frankly until he's back at the helm nothing is going to be as good at Terminator 2.. Would James Cameron really be able to make a good Terminator film now? He's gone 20 years without making a great film.
