Oxigen_Waste Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Is it just me, or is everyone using this function since it got "media exposure" on the gen chit chat vs other boards thread? 'cause you can clearly notice on any given board that only the first 10 or so threads are actually active. Just curious, I suppose.
The Peeps Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I used to use it but stopped when it became cool. I think I used it when I first joined but now I know where I want to go so I just search. All the good topics stay on the first page anyway
ReZourceman Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Pfffft. New posts is for pussies. I do it the hardcore way.
Jon Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I've never used it and and it will continue that way.
Diageo Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I've always used it. It's the best way to get around.
Mr_Odwin Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 When there is a new post in a thread I read the whole thread again. I'm dedicated.
Beast Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I have no idea what you are talking about. You and me both...
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I always go back and check the treads I'm in interested in manually. That's why I hate being away from the forums for more than a day.
Paj! Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 It's so incredibly unnecessary on a forum of this size. What would you be overwhelmed by here? The threads are bolded if there's new posts in them already.
Tales Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I think the size is exactly what it should be for a "new post" function. Any bigger and it would be faster just check the relevant board you're interested in.
Nolan Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 New posts is the only way to browse, going through each board to see which threads are bold would be bloody tiresome.
Coolness Bears Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 New Post since I joined, easiest way to see where the latest posts are and gets me looking at topics I'd otherwise miss.
Ryuk Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 You and me both... They mean using the function 'new posts since i've signed in' which basicly shows new posts since you last logged in. I don't use it on this forum as I only go into two areas of the board, however I do use it on bigger sites..
Jimbob Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 I don't use the feature any more. I did use it in the early days, but as i only hang in 2 or 3 areas with the occasional check in other areas i don't see the need to use it any more. Kudos for those using it though, shows there is always a different way to approach things.
Ville Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 New Post since I joined, easiest way to see where the latest posts are and gets me looking at topics I'd otherwise miss. Exactly. Much easier to check everything in one place, plus it helps me notice stuff posted outside the few boards / threads I'd otherwise stick to. Also, seems that someone removed this feature from the visitors, why? I'd want to be able to use it whether I'm logged in or not, so could you please put it back?
Jimbob Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I should have added, i don't have to check as i get notifications emailled through when someone replys to a thread, anyone else have this feature enabled or am i the only one.
EEVILMURRAY Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I haven't used it since I joined. I only check around 3 sections of the board and possibly a few others when the moment takes me. I don't want to see new posts from these topics. I like to be surprised.
Dyson Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 When there is a new post in a thread I read the whole thread again. I'm dedicated. The real reason behind the MPOTD thread being closed finally revealed!
Raining_again Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I use the lil blue thing on the left of a newly posted-in thread, but I'm rarely out of Gen enough to use the other "new posts" function =P
