I've managed 2 hours so far. Waiting for girlfriend to go to sleep lol!

During my time I did very little actual mission stuff got my first character switch. I mostly just hit the open road and drove as far north as I could to explore. One disappointing thing found a Casino up in the middle of nowhere and couldn't go inside it.

It's something that has bothered me somewhat to find bright lights and music form bars and shops and you can't enter and you get up to them and find the same old grubby textures from GTA 4. I only recently played Sleeping Dogs and that felt way more polished. Open world games have moved on since GTA 4 and making a bigger world is maybe not enough....

Played from 5pm till 11pm last night, a switch of missions and messing around. I too have the blimp from picking my copy up at midnight, it's fun.

I've now unlocked Trevor to use :)

Liked when Lester and Michael are talking about recruiting for the jewelry heist and Lester mentions an Eastern European making waves in Liberty City.

RIP Johnny

Its longer than I would like but not 5 minutes. More like 30 seconds to a minute maybe.

Mine was significantly more than a minute. Was the first time turning on after the initial install so maybe it will be quicker next time.

to see those heists everyone is talking about.

You're in for a treat.

But according to the stats menu I have done half of the main missions and

only had to do two heists.

Less than I expected.

Even now new stuff gets thrown in my face. Activities left and right.

And stuff to collect...Might need to buy a guide after all :D

I've got to say I'm shocked and appalled at all the violence, car crime, drug use and prostitution.

I hate Bolton town centre, I'll be glad to get home and play GTA.

Just ordered the strategy guide. Ordering the English version from Amazon.de is cheaper than importing it. :blank:

I can't wait for GTA online. We need to get the action going as soon as it is released!

What's the number for on the character switching wheel?

How many available missions they have.

Had an hour or so play before heading to work, found the jet ski's and done a few taxi missions. Had myself a fare dodger, who certainly won't be dodging anymore fares. I also decided to climb Mount Chilliard in a random vehicle, managed to climb it and get to a saw mill before the car finally died from damage.

Loving the game still.

I played this game a lot last night (went to bed 5 this morning) and I must come with a controversial statement: this is the game that could prove that the Wii U tablet is an awesome invention.

First of all, look at the phone. It's tiny and hard to read. Using the D-pad to manouver it is awkward.

Rockstar have made a big thing out of using in-game computers. But manouvering through them is a chore. I absolutely hated the minigame where you had to remove the popup windows to reach the antivirus. Imagine using the touchpad instead.

Imagine not having to awkwardly hold the D-pad to access the circle menus, and instead using the tablet.

And of course, the extra horsepower of the Wii U could hopefully enable a longer draw distance, so that you can shoot things while using the fighter jet. And better Anti-aliasing.

I plugged my headset in last night for a few hours, boy the extra detail Rockstar put in the audio is noticable. Hearing the sounds of tires rolling over stony paths/roads is great. The engine sounds from the jet plane struggling to climb if the engine has been shot, like the touch of hearing it fail after a while as well.

FUCK!

Could've made a lot of money with stocks but never thought about it :(

Pro tip: Whenever you do missions as Franklin for Lester, listen to that guy and buy stocks to sell them afterwards.

According to the stats-menu I have 27 (or 25, can't remember) main missions left. These have to wait, though, 'cause there are freaks waiting for me.

I went to do that but there was a timer going and I didnt know which was the rival company I was supposed to buy from and it was taking too long to check through them all lol

One thing really bothering me is they went to great lengths to minimize HUD impact on the actual environment- small cross hair when firing, smaller very discrete missions markers (tiny yellow glowing circles), gps only on the map, then why oh why do they still have giant markers during street races?! This is something my girlfriend commented on having watched me play for a couple of hours last night. Again I go back to Sleeping Dogs and it's far more elegant flares which actually make sense in the context of the world.

Been playing a ton of tennis today....who needs Wii Sports Club pfffff....

So in the UK the game sold 1.57m Units in it's first day:eek: (£65m in revenue)

And worldwide it's already made $800m in it's first day. Insane.

Off-topic but I found out that Tapatalk doesn't parse spoiler tags correctly (atleast on iOS) so best don't read this thread using it if you're avoiding spoilers.

So I was playing, wondering around and one of those random events happened. Some guy stole some other guys motorcycle. I kill the guy and bring it back to him and a few hours later i get an e-mail from the guy saying hes the owner of The Ark pet store or something and gives me $100,000 worth of shares in the company. When I went to check the price on the market it pretty much doubled so I got about $180,000 for returning some randoms bike :D

Also I bought a £250,000 car a while ago and took it on a mission. It's pretty much disappeared, hasn't been impounded and its not in my garage so that was a fine waste of money...

Did I just read "you can now buy various properties around San Andreas" ? :p

Anyway, still awesome. Playing the first missions as Trevor now. Have had fun with the random missions and Strangers and Freaks also, but I won't spoil them. Also played some tennis. Works quite well.
