Pffft. Noooo. Its an awesomely funny and off the wall, but COHERENT turn based strategy JRPG.

However, to say that is to do it a misjustice. I like to refer to it as;

Multi-Coloured squared, highly customisable Chess on steroids.

I really need to play Disgaea, but I have another four SRPGs on the PSP to play too, and I'm just not ready to commit the time to playing them right now. :blank:

It is, but I think ReZ has been waiting for the handheld version rather than playing it on the PS3.

Disgaea always felt more like a handheld game to me, too.

Edit: Or maybe he's already played it on the PS3 and is just a huge fan.

Any shops (not online) got any good deals on at the minute on Wi-Fi consoles?

I'm selling my wi-fi model in the for sale / bargains thread if interested!

Shameless plug there :p

If it's what I think you mean by grid battles (tiles you move to like FF tactics) then yeah. It's...decent. Personally I preferred FF Tactics Advance to Disgaea 3 by a country mile, which had a story I actually cared about and pretty sweet jobs.

If you like taking games to the extreme though Disgaea is for you. You can reach L9999 (in seconds to minutes once you get a statistician setup), it's crazy.

Don't know if they were in earlier titles, but statisticians among others are these characters that you defeat and slap on a piece of equipment. The more you have on the greater the EXP multiplayer from defeating enemies.

Then there was this one map that you could replay that had a 3x3 grid of enemies, so you used some attack (I forget which now) that takes out the full grid at once. L9999 in seconds-minutes when you pass the equipment around your characters. Kinda makes the game easy though.

Wipeout came today. Had a quick blast. God the load times were horrendous but what a game. Did the update, hasn't made as much of a dent into the load times as I'd wished. Does online play hold up pretty well on this? Always loved wipe-out games and was slightly put off by some reviews on it but glad I buckled. Can't wait for the HD and Fury DLC, when's that out?!

Played a bit more of this. Dne the 2048 championship. Really liking the game but he load times are killing some of the fun for me, they're ridiculous. But the actual game is great fun.

What I am disappointed with though, and this may change, is the multiplayer. Again, takes ages for anything to happen and you don't get to choose anything. And combat mutiplayer is one of the most unfun game modes I've experienced, yet EVERYONE loves it. That's all anyone picks, I had to switch it off. I can't bare to play it, if people raced around like in single player it'd be okay, but people seem to stick to one bit of the trai where weapons are and go apeshit. Also, it says it automatically connects you to your friends... Does this actually work? I can see it being almost impossible to get proper games on the go with friends... I was hoping you could create your own lobbies and such...

Apparently the stores in Germany already have the game for sale, and my copy from Amazon is about to be dispatched. If I'm lucky I'll get it tomorrow : peace:

So a new game is finally going to be released on the Vita since launch?! Wow!!

When's Mortal Kombat out?

Also, does anyone have a release list for the next couple of months?

Played more of wipeout, is SOL the worst track in racing game existence? It's trying tone like rainbow road but is just unplayable. I actually like a lot of the design, but having no walls is just stupid in a game like wipeout. I sure I'll get used to it, but I really hate it.

How come no one has set up a wipeout thread to organise mutiplayer matches and such?

Onto mutiplayer, is it possible to actually play against your friends on it?

I had a similar experience with Sol, but then I unlocked the infinite Speed Lap dodads and spent a while getting my lines perfect and now I can play it on A+ without falling off at all. The only really hard part is the shortcut on the home stretch just before the finish line, which I'm tempted to take every time. All you need to do is anticipate it early and engage the left airbrake to keep your inertia from making your fly off the right hand side of the track.

The inertia management is such a great aspect of the game, and is what slightly gives it the edge over the F-Zero series in mind.

In terms of multiplayer, there's no way to play directly against people on your friends list as of yet, which kinda sucks. Hopefully they'll add an option to do that with future DLC.

Yeah I'm sure I'll get used to it, but it was a massive shock to race on and didn't enjoy it. What are these infinite speed pads you speak of? And I simply can't believe you can't play against people on your friends list... I'm sure I read somewhere it automatically puts you with friends but is weirdly backward. Have they said they will change it?!
