I've ramped the sensitivity right up & still the aiming is broken!!

It's the only thing ruining a darn fine game so far.

Same here. Sensitivity at max is the only way to currently play, it shouldn't be this way. Uncharted 2 was set to around halfway and worked perfectly.

Theres a lot of complaints ive seen as well over the difficulty. You can get through it on normal and hard but it gets very annoying. I played Uncharted 2 on all the difficulties and enjoyed it everytime. This one I had quite a few "Fuck This" moments and it was only until I decided I didnt care anymore and just wanted to see the story that I lowered the difficulty and started enjoying it a bit more.

Also, im sick of running towards the camera.

Also also, it feels like they wanted the melee combat to be like Batmans but didnt have the time to spend on it so we get a slowed down version with the same animations over and over.

If you stand near walls/tables/chairs/bottles/big fishes/random objects then Drake will use those. Which I think makes it a great combat system.

I also think the animation in the fighting is astounding - it's very clear he's not trained in fighting (hence why the combat isn't as quick at Batman) but he can still handle himself. I've never really seen anything captured in a game quite like that.

The only thing I didn't like with the fighting was the big dudes as the animations for those were the same every time.

Totally agree, the aiming on UC2 worked perfect. Might carry on with Arkham City & Deus Ex till they fix it lol!

Normal was waaaaaay harder than it should have been.

Things they need to fix,

Heavies being immune to headshots.

Bullets having no stopping power (They definitely need to slow the heavies down).

Implement the sprint function from the multiplayer (would make sense since the AI are so much more aggressive in this).

I love the melee. You've just got to be imaginative with it. Like I said, I slapped someone to death with a massive fish.

Ive noticed a lot more graphical problems with 3 as well. Lot of textures not loading until about a minute into a scene. Also, did anyone else find Elena's face weird? I think it was her eyes but something wasnt quite right.

Oh and I finally stopped and watched the AI characters jumping and climbing and it was terrible. It was like they were floating up to ledges at times from distances they shouldnt have been able to make.

I also think they need to fix the stealth. It's way too hard to be stealthy. Getting spotted by an enemy alerts the entire area. They should make it so that gunfire alerts the area, not simply getting spotted. So if you do get spotted by one (or two) guards but take them out quickly (silenced gun, melee) then you should still be able to proceed silently.

Yeah, one area a dude saw me literally for a split second just as I shot him with a silencer. I reckon they should use the stealth icon they use in the online.

Glad I can't play this til December now, hopefully by then the aiming will be fixed. Had a little go on level 1, was pretty good. Wasn't wowed by the graphics though like I was expecting. Started level 2 and loved the animation on the kid, but decided to stop due to the huge gap before playing again. Just want to blitz it straight through!

Just completed the game. I probably wont return it like I said last night but I found it nowhere near as good as Uncharted 2 and it had too many problems.

Was more interesting that Uncharted 2's boss fight but as I hated the melee combat it was pretty much ruined for me.

What was your (everyones) favourite bits?

I don't wish to spoil anything for anyone so I'll just say all of it because it is genuinely stunning from start to finish.

Did you watch all of the behind scenes featurettes? I found them all to be particularly inspiring and insightful. :)

It actually does work like that sometimes, but I think in the bigger areas the game makes sure you'll be detected so as to not to circumvent the massive firefight they have planned. Problem is that rather takes the incentive out of stealth; it's like the player is simply delaying the inevitable.

The campaign comes across as a little rushed to me. Not that it isn't full of love and attention to detail, but the game's combat scenarios often feel like a bit of a hodgepodge of tougher enemies jumping into the arena from all around you. It's a strange one as the combat areas are generally well designed, the core mechanics (inexplicably laggy aiming aside) a joy, but often times the opposition seems tuned towards extending the experience rather than actually being fun to fight.

In many ways I think this is the best game in the series, but the above really conspires to undermine the advances elsewhere. Hopefully some of it can be patched — the flaws aren't fundamental — as the co-op shows how much fun the combat can be; for my money it's the best third-person shooter action there is.

I havn't yet but certainly will do. Are they on the main disk because I still havn't received my special edition yet.

They are unlocked and viewable from the extras(?) menu at the main menu upon completing the game.

Pffft, whose further on in the game?!

I'm hoping it's me, or I may look rather foolish.

Errr.....I finished it

Everyone up for some multiplayer this weekend?

Posted

Picked up my copy earlier today. Been 3 months almost since I last bought a game so felt it was time to treat myself.

Looking forward to getting stuck into the single player later, even though it sounds like the aiming is pretty poor. Think I'll have to tinker with that before I start. May try out some multiplayer as well (as long as it's Plunder :p). See how it goes.
