I was listening to PSA this morning and they said a majority (can't remember the exact percentage) of Americans are happy with their health insurance even though many said they'd had problems with it and all I could think was "how?! Why?! How?!"

I presume it comes from a combination of mistrust in the government (any government) to do it properly and "that thar is communism!" kind of thing but even so, it's so baffling to me.

I enjoyed a post i saw on Reddit that said that Americans had finally found a way to deal with their health insurance problem with their gun violence problem.

I'm "okay" with mine, definitely not happy. Our plan is pretty good for a company that has ~1500 employees. It's actually better than what my wife could get from her employer who, get this, is actually in healthcare and is one of the largest employers in our state. But why should our health insurance be tied to our jobs?

I've just came back from day surgery.

Never have a flexible cystoscopy. It's like sounding but they go right into the bladder. Fun times.

Also my bladder is full of crystals and i'm pissing blood.

Yeah...had that experience last year.
A mate said: "hey, maybe sounding will be your new kink."

I can, with 100% certainty, say: No, it won't!

Oh boy, hope you'll feel better soon

Yeah I expected it to be bad. But this bad from, like, just 10 minutes in?

Good luck to us all. I don't like that I'm saying this but I'm just hoping a whole bunch of them get strokes and die.

Yeah it’s not swell, and there’s a staggering amount of defense for it. Banning Nazis is somehow controversial in the US

Musk very clearing doing a Nazi salute...twice.

Yeeeah. Finally pulled the plug on my Twitter account after that. I'd been putting it off hoping this forum software would update to allow embeds from alternatives, but I'd rather deal with no embeds then being there any longer.

Actual insanity.

I fully expect MAGA people to be doing the salutes soon. Heck, they were saying/shouting/yelling "grab her by the pussy" years back. Why would this be any different. Gotta own the liberals somehow.

I feel like for the next four years this thread may be used exclusively by you (for good reason).

Witnessing it from afar and trying my best to avoid much of it is bad enough. Can't imagine what it must be like to have it forced in your face every day.

Our parliament (Bundestag) will vote on a draft law which would limit immigration today.

Two days ago a proposal for stricter immigration rules/laws has been accepted thanks to votes from the far-right extremist party AfD, which have been requested by the so called "centre party" (CDU/CSU).
Same thing might happen today, too.

Why do I have to live in these times?

Fuck those fascists.

It didn't.
Our parliament voted against.
Thank goodness.

Still...the "centre" parties (in my opinion they are now right-wing) fucked up big time and I really hope the people notice and let their voice be known at the elections in three weeks.

Honestly saw you posted in here and thought it was going to be "need to wait a week for another Severance episode".
