david.dakota Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Did they confirm if multiplayer is online or local?
Cube Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Did they confirm if multiplayer is online or local? Nope. It's kind of pathetic that we have to wonder if a multiplayer mode, that's talked about as a main feature, is online. My guess is "no". I'd also really like to hear about any alternate control methods.
ReZourceman Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 That is blatantly not online. Why would it be....
Fused King Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 That is blatantly not online. Why would it be.... Because Sakurai was clearly all over his other online project in Smash Brothers.
Retro_Link Posted July 5, 2011 Author Posted July 5, 2011 The 3D trailer looks great! Some moments of the single player gameplay/cutscenes look stunning!! Not convinced by the multiplayer yet though, can't help feel it's just been tacked on. But still, I doubt I'd use it much anyway, I'm only interested in the single player atm. That guy with the sword doesn't seem to fit in much, wonder who he is.
canand Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Here is the Europe boxart Can't wait for this hope it comes out this year in Europe/UK and the 3D is great.
Cube Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 http://www.vgboxart.com/view/39568/kid.icarus.uprising/?replies=7 No it isn't.
Retro_Link Posted July 25, 2011 Author Posted July 25, 2011 Gameplay: Graphically it looks fantastic! Not fully convinced by the on-foot sections yet... and why have they changed Pits voice?... not liking the new one as much.
S.C.G Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Some nice footage there, the guy playing it seemed to make it look more uncomfortable than I suspect it actually is... if I'm playing a 3DS/DS game that requires constant use of the 'L' button and touch-screen then I tend to have the unit a bit more 'flat' against my palm, in the video it looked like whoever was playing effectively formed a 'claw' with their left hand which looked quite awkward to me. The game however looks most excellent.
canand Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Anyone want a video of Kid Icarus Uprising
James McGeachie Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 ^To be honest, no, I'd just rather they stopped delaying a game which felt like it was going to be a launch title.
Retro_Link Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 Wonder if this game will see a small delay (if it's needed, it may not be), to make it compatible with the slider attachment? It would certainly solve the control issues!
Mandalore Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 It would certainly solve the control issues! I'd actually be interested in buying it if they did that.... After trading in my 3DS for the 3DS mk2 with build in 2nd analogue slider. Maybe the game will be nice and cheap by then.
david.dakota Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 (edited) Don't know about anyone else, but the confirmation of a "Dark Link" has resulted in a big sigh from me. I'm getting bored of this whole dark side doppelgänger with Nintendo characters is running just a little thin now. Edited December 13, 2011 by david.dakota
Retro_Link Posted December 13, 2011 Author Posted December 13, 2011 Hmm... to be honest I feel like I've kinda lost interest in this game. Is it just me or does it somehow feel like it's getting worse the longer they spend on it?
dazzybee Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 It LOOKS incredible... Stunning graphics. I'm still very interested; especially to hear more about the online mode!
Jonnas Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Meh, weak trailer. I'm still hyped, though, game looks brilliant, from a few gameplay videos I've seen. When I get a 3DS, Kid Icarus comes first.
James McGeachie Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Hmm... to be honest I feel like I've kinda lost interest in this game. Is it just me or does it somehow feel like it's getting worse the longer they spend on it? In terms of the voice acting, certainly. It also looked a bit more framey in that video, but maybe it's just me. I have to ask though, why are people bothered about the controls? As long as the touch screen is responsive then I assume it works at least as well as any of the FPS games on the DS, which were fine to me. Unless it's because the 3DS is heavier?
Grazza Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Hmm... to be honest I feel like I've kinda lost interest in this game. Is it just me or does it somehow feel like it's getting worse the longer they spend on it? It's the classic issue of overworking something. The longer a game takes to make, the less it stays true to the original vision. That said, I have to be honest, I haven't been following this closely, and it doesn't look any worse to me. I still think they should have kept more to the original formula though, because surely when people said they wanted a new Kid Icarus, they meant they wanted a new Metroid-type game, like the old ones?
Cube Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 It LOOKS incredible... Stunning graphics. I'm still very interested; especially to hear more about the online mode! At the moment it's still just "multiplayer". I don't think they've mentioned online yet. Is there any chance this will use the Circle Pad Pro?
Josh64 Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 @Retro_Link I thought exactly the same, I was so hyped for this a year ago but the longer they spend and the more I see, the less interested I am. @Cube I've heard nothing about it but I assumed one of the reasons for the delay was so that it could use the Circle Pad Pro. And it's probably just because it's been up-scaled but I actually think the graphics look terrible
Jonnas Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 I highly doubt they changed the voice acting/dialogue since the last time we saw the game. Pit has some of the exact same lines! That trailer literally brought us nothing new, other than Dark Pit. If they're delaying this so it can use Circle Pad pro for lefties... I'd say that's an incredibly valid reason.
david.dakota Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 For me, its one of the games that sold the 3DS. But I have to agree with @Retro_Link I am loosing interest. The art style was never great, the combat looks dull and, as I mentioned earlier, I am bored to death of the dark spin Nintendo are putting on their characters: Samus, Mario, Link (albiet, brief) - can they not think of any new new ideas after 20-something years?
