Actor Gary Coleman has died at the age of 42, it has been confirmed.

The star - best known for his role in the '80s comedy Diff'rent Strokes - was hospitalised in Utah on Wednesday after suffering an intracranial hemorrhage caused by a fall.

Coleman slipped into a coma on Thursday and was taken off life support Friday morning. His wife Shannon Price and her father, as well as close friends and family, were at his bedside when he died.

Saw this on the digitalspy post and it made me laugh:

Co-star Dana Plato committed suicide by drugs overdose in 1999. Her son Tyler Lambert fatally shot himself in the head earlier this month.

More to follow.

Do they know something we don't?

Oh my God, this is such sad times! I just came on the forums and saw this topic and I was like "WHAT?!". So sad to hear that.

I read that as interracial. Now I feel bad.

Think that's bad? Earlier (when he was in a coma) I laughed a bit at "Gary Coleman isn't dead, he just had a different stroke."

Still, shocking. He had a rather chequered life to say the least but still, shame to see him go.

It had to be done, well done EEVIL.

Joking aside now, 42 is not a good age to die. Too young in anyone's eyes to be fair. R.I.P Gary Coleman. Now you can entertain the lord to your hearts content.

I went right through this thread thinking Gary Oldman was dead. Which I must say upset me quite a bit more since I never actually watched Diff'rent Strokes, but still tragic. RIP.
