Tellyn Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Lemon and sugar is clearly the pancake topping of the gods. EMERGANCY WE ARE OUT OF BUTTER I REPEAT OUT OF BUTTER! Who the hell uses butter to make pancakes?... Well, you don't have to, but Pancake Day is sort of what we singles seek comfort with in the wake of V-Day. To hell with that, I see it purely as an opportunity to gorge myself on sweet pastries because the calendar says it's okay.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 To hell with that, I see it purely as an opportunity to gorge myself on sweet pastries because the calendar says it's okay. I believe that's the true spirit of the day!
Eenuh Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Take all of this relationship talk out of this threadddd pleaaaaase! Leave the poor pancakes alone! Anyway I forgot it's pancake day (it actually doesn't exist in Belgium I think, but I spend my life on the internet so I take on other people's customs). I only remembered after reading this thread. So Jim and I made some pancaaaaakes. They turned out okay. I love pancakes. Mmmm pancakes.
EEVILMURRAY Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Lemon and sugar is clearly the pancake topping of the gods. WRONG. Golden Syrup has the power all by itself. Who the hell uses butter to make pancakes?... Lube up the pan?
Raining_again Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Shrove Tuesday freakin rocks. Golden syrup or sugar and lemon! And butter is not needed, that is bloody insanity (surely it makes a mess if yer tossing them???) anyways, its just not needed. If you have a proper non stick pan, nothing sticks unless its cremated, so no EXCUSES.
Nolan Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Well, generally after I remove a pancake from the pan and set it on the stack, I put a dab of butter on it just to add a little flavor and moistness. Putting butter in the pan is only needed if you don't have non-stick.
ReZourceman Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 The pancakes I had were....amazing. Better than all of yours.
Molly Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 We had savoury pancakes that were orgasm inducing, not going to lie. I'm so full though, I don't know if can manage a sweet one. This is serious. /innuendo bingo. I know.
Karl619 Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 My pancakes bring all the guys to the yard And they're like It's better than yours, Damn right it's better than yours, I can teach you But I don't actually know how to make them- my mum makes them for me
MoogleViper Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Well, generally after I remove a pancake from the pan and set it on the stack, I put a dab of butter on it just to add a little flavor and moistness. Putting butter in the pan is only needed if you don't have non-stick. Please tell me your pancakes don't look like this?
The Lillster Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Please tell me your pancakes don't look like this? Blasphemy!
Eddage Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Please tell me your pancakes don't look like this? Dude, thick pancakes are fucking awesome!
Nolan Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 If pancakes aren't thick, they're crepes. Therefore, mine looked almost exactly like those Moogle.
Retro_Link Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 I used to get those thick pancakes all the time! Heat them up under the grill, plenty of mable syrup, jobs a good'n!!
ReZourceman Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Mine were the thickest I've ever had. And the pancakes. HAIII-OOOOO!
The Lillster Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Dude, thick pancakes are fucking awesome! Home-made thick pancakes are fine, but the ones out of the packet aren't.
Jimbob Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Packet Pancakes, i don't like. They are and will always be for the lazy.
Coolness Bears Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 .Who the hell uses butter to make pancakes?... I don't know, I've never actually made Pancakes. :p It isn't actually needed. I am currently on a PANCAKE HIGH! Savoury then sweet and then sweeter still! (and then sickeningly sweet) Each bite provided a new state of ecstasy. I feel like a king at a banquet and I've just had the last swig of the finest wine and the last leg of the most succulent pig! I'm ready to collapse into heaven. TAKE ME PANCAKE GODS! *holds out his arms*
Paj! Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Scotch pancakes are horrible. Mainly cause I don't have syrup on them so they're just stodgy masses of crap. Crepes for the win. In other news; No pancakes today.
Shorty Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 My reference was from Maid Marian and her Merry Men. You all suck for not getting it. Infraction each tbh.
Eddage Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Home-made thick pancakes are fine, but the ones out of the packet aren't. Yeah that's what I meant, packet pancakes or even pancake mix is just retarded, they're not exactly complicated to make in the first place...
