Beast Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 (edited) I think you all saw this thread coming from me I actually can't believe they've done a SAW game. I've always wondered how it would turn out. It would be interesting to play, I'm buying for sure. In Saw, The Jigsaw Killer has healed Detective David Tapp from his gunshot wound, and places him in an abandoned asylum to teach him a lesson of life appreciation. Tapp traverses the building gathering clues along the way in hopes of finally apprehending Jigsaw. He encounters both friends and foes as he comes closer to escaping the asylum and its inhabitants who have instructions contrary to his survival. Along the way, Tapp uncovers the origins of Jigsaw and his motives behind his tests, as well as learning the fates of those from the first Saw film. Here is the boxart: Here is some gameplay footage: I think it's looking good, not the best game ever but still could be entertaining and by the sounds of the description, it could actually tell us what happened to Doctor Gordon! lmao. Discuss! Edited October 5, 2009 by Animal
Cube Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I thought everyone stopped caring about Saw at number 3.
S.C.G Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Most people did but some people still saw something in the series.
Mundi Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I didn´t start the trailer but the thumbnail shows that there is a combat tutorial. Maybe it´s because I´ve only seen the first three but I recall not fighting.... at all. Most people did but some people still saw something in the series.
Bren Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Cube, you really shouldnt post in topics, you dont seem to like anything. I always wondered how good a saw game would be, dont really know if this is gonna work. Looks quite boring, but the shock factor of the traps might be fun lol ill probably pick it up once its in 2 for £20 :P
jayseven Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I'll probably do the same as you, skunky. Looks a bit clunky and repetitive and lacking in story, and it looks like it's going to have me shouting at the tv asking why can't I do this, instead?! a lot.
dwarf Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Cube, you really shouldnt post in topics, you dont seem to like anything. True. Constant negative attitude. It got boring a while ago.
Ellmeister Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 True. Constant negative attitude. It got boring a while ago.
Caris Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 True. Constant negative attitude. It got boring a while ago. Just what I was about to say.
Beast Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 I didn´t start the trailer but the thumbnail shows that there is a combat tutorial.Maybe it´s because I´ve only seen the first three but I recall not fighting.... at all. It is because of that. In Saw V, they had to fight each other in the traps to make sure they stay alive so there are some fighting scenes in SAW. Also, as a mega SAW fan, this is a must-buy for me. The game apparently answers questions SAW fans have always been asking so that's intrigued me more. I don't think it'll be repetitive (story-wise) but I think the gameplay could be but since when has that stopped anybody. I mean, look at Assassin's Creed, one of the most repetitive games but also one of the most loved. But yeah, this game could go either way. I just hope it works.
BeerMonkey Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 ill wait on reviews but not getting hopes up on this being good from watching the game footage
Daft Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I don't like the films but for some reason I think a game might be a bit of a laugh. I'd rather torture the people though.
Goafer Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 (edited) I have a prediction for how this game will go: He mentions that the main character is obsessed with finding Jigsaw. So the test obviously revovles around letting Jigsaw escape. Seeing as a game revolving around walking off and ignoring stuff would be crap, the game will follow the main character as he hunts Jigsaw. That will fail the test, and the main character will die with the shocking revelation that the correct thing to do would have been to turn the game off and go do something else. Then in an ultimate mindfuck, the game will tell you that it was all a test on you and that your crime is that you sat on your fat arse playing a sub par computer game. It's at this point that you'll realise what the gun-helmet/knife-eye bandanna/toaster-crotch pants/shark-monocle peripheral was made for*. *This isn't part of my actual prediction. The rest is. Cube Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 (edited) I didn't realise that I seemed so negative. I'm a pretty positive person. I'll try to stop moaning about things I'm simply not interested in (I blame all these "reviewers" who only review negatively). Anyway, this could be good, but it is a film-tie in so the odds are against it. Edited October 6, 2009 by Cube
jayseven Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Saw's achievements remind me of Dark Sector again, in teh sense that they're mostly ones you'll get simply by playing the damn game. They also seem to suggest that the combat mode will be fairly frequent. Minions?!
Mundi Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 The achievements sound fun but they sound like something made for Manhunt.

dwarf Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 That's not really applicable. Maybe if I called Cube an ass you might have a point. I enjoyed reading the two names that thanked the post though, put a wry smile on my face.
Ellmeister Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 How does it not apply? I'm clearly saying what you said about Cube being negative is clearly what you do. I feel as though you are perpetually sad about life. Is your right hand not showing the love you once used to share anymore? Cheer up Dwarf
dwarf Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Well it doesn't apply. I show a balance of positivity and negativity. You continually try to prove that you're a desciple of a member from this forum. I find it weird how you rate yourself at the top of this great-post hierarchy that you made up in your head. Get over yourself.

Dyson Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Man, I just used up my "Thanks" quote on this page alone.
nightwolf Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 So back to the game. They should be at the expo I'm going too, might give it a play and see what its like, I honestly don't have high expectations, but I imagine it'll least be a 'rental' type game, I don't like the idea of the combat bit, like they are trying to add spice to it.
flameboy Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 IGN review: http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/103/1033434p1.html Pretty good score, I'm gonna try and get round to trying it out at the Eurogamer Expo see what its like.
