GoodManGamer Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 What age does a person starts to play a video game?
EEVILMURRAY Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Depends on the game really. My nephew kept harassing me to play "The Pokémon game on my DS", which was probably referring to Diamond/Pearl. I denied ever owning a copy, plus he wouldn't know what to do because he's too young and a bell end. He is however "capable" of playing Super Mario Bros DS, albeit craply.
Chris the great Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 i started playing video games when i was about 4, though i didnt get any good till i was about 7 and finnished the mighty morphin power rangers game.
MoogleViper Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 i started playing video games when i was about 4, though i didnt get any good till i was about 7 and finnished the mighty morphin power rangers game. I'd say this is about right.
Emasher Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I was 7 or 8 I think. I started late compared to my friends though. I'd say 5, as long as you can find the right game. Every kid's first game should be the original Super Mario Bros. IMO.
Retro_Link Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Yeah I'd say 4 was around the first time I played a few game, then when I was 5 or 6 I got an Amiga 500, and the good times rolled!
Beast Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 I was 7 or 8 I think. I started late compared to my friends though. I'd say 5, as long as you can find the right game. Every kid's first game should be the original Super Mario Bros. IMO. That was my first ever game and I was about 3 or 4 and I remember being quite good at it. I only ever got to World 5 though, I'll always remember that. And I played the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers game the other day, still kicks ass
Coolness Bears Posted August 28, 2009 Posted August 28, 2009 Well my nephew must have tried when he was about 2 but mastered Mario Kart Wii by the time he was 3. He is now four and moved onto the DS! As for me I started when I was about 3-5 as well. good times.
Paj! Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I have a complex or something like that concerning age and entitlement. It makes me sick that my aunt is going to buy my 5 year old (but pretty immature for his age) cousin Pokemon Platinum, just cause said he liked watching me play. How could could he ever play it properly?! Ugh. Hate that.
Roostophe Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I fondly remember watching my brothers play on an Atari console (no idea which) when I was about 3. Then being about 4 or 5 playing Sonic 2 behind the settee in the living room. Possibly my earliest gaming memories. So, yeah, I must have been about 4. Sonic 1 on MegaDrive definitely being the first game I ever played. No wonder the Green Hill Zone music makes me feel so nostalgic. Man I love that piece of music. And I played the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers game the other day, still kicks ass Odd, because I remember how that game (and the film) put me right off the Power Rangers franchise for good. Strange to have an opinion like that when you're only 6 years old.
Haden Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 When they can complete Jurrasic Pack Lost World on the Megadrive eg never!
Goafer Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Computer games? Bah! When I were a whipper snapper, pushing a hoop down a cobbled road with a stick was all we needed for entertainment. I started when I was about 5. My Dad got me a Spectrum. Giving an impatient 5 year old as computer that loads off of a cassette was a poor judgment call. I did enjoy it though, right up until he got me a Mega Drive a year or two later.
Cube Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I got my first console when I was 4 or 5. First game was Sonic the Hedgehog. Every kid's first game should be the original Super Mario Bros. IMO. I've been gaming most of my life and I still haven't plated it.
Happenstance Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I cant really remember what age I was when I started playing but I know it was with my dad's Atari 2600 until my parents bought me a NES for christmas one year.
Goafer Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I don't remember my first game, but my earliest game that I played regularly was Kikstart on the Spectrum. Then I moved up to the obligatory Sonic on the MD. Good times on both.
DuD Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Every kid's first game should be the original Super Mario Bros. IMO. I've been gaming most of my life and I still haven't plated it. He didn't just say that..... The original Super Mario Bros was the first game i played too. Can't remember how old i was though
Mokong Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 My first game 7 seven years old, Super Mario Bros. on the NES, friend from Dublin brought it down with them when they came to stay for a week during the summer. I still remember it perfectly, I remember how they never explain the controls to me and i thought "up" was jump and was killed by the first goomba After that I HAD TO GET A NES
Happenstance Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I think im gonna have to set my NES up again now
BlueStar Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Think I got my Commodore 64 when I was about 4 years old. Seen a video of me playing it and holding the joystick backwards, which apparently I found easier
martinist Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Very first game i played all the time was gunslinger on My dad's Atari VCS. I was around 3 or 4 at the time, moved up to the NES and Super Mario Bros. then the Megadrive and Sonic. It just kept going from there.
Paj! Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I was never allowed game consoles really, everyone else had them, but my first one was my friend's old Nintendo 64, as his mum said he had to get rid of one of his game consoles if he wanted a new one (the new one being an Xbox or PS2 or something). Had that for a good while. I was so happy when I got a Gamecube and SSB:Melee for my 12th birthday. Cheekily, I managed to get all the main consoles of that generation but only had to pay for the gamecube...my PS2 and Xbox were gifts from other people who got improved versions.
GoodManGamer Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 Well, Super Mario ('The Undisputed Heavy Game of the World) was the first games I played and I'm only 6 years old that time..
Daft Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I got an N64 when I was 11. Before, my sister got me a Sega Game Gear but I only had Sonic 1 and I was rubbish at it.
GoodManGamer Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 well, family com is the first console I used for playing video games when I was 6
