I hope not, that kinda tarred the first game for me.

Tbh that nearly ruined the game for me. The bit with the switches and the never ending "gaaaah"section nearly made me never play it again. Glad I did though as I loved it up to that point and it was good to have closure on it.

I still don't know what I actually think about it - I was kind of put off that the game lost it's realism but then again it did give a new take in playing.

I don't mind if they do it again, but I won't be disappointed if they left it out.

Pretty much my feelings on that.

Yeah, I didn't like how it suddenly lost it's realism. I found it really jarring to suddenly go from relatively possible to weird monsters roaming around.

My other complaint with the first was the fact that there was FAR too much combat. There were too many fights, that went on for far too long. I really enjoyed the climbing around the environments and thought that was the best bit of the game and there wasn't enough of this.

Otherwise I loved the first one.

Thinking about it, it would be cooler if Nathan used his guns less, he's almost too reliant on them. I don't think Prince of Persia like moments would go amiss.

However, I wouldn't want them to make it the same as the two thrones where it becomes a set-piece - if they could intergrate stealth smoothly then that would be great.

I knew they'd be chasing Splinter Cell with the stealth elements, look at that move where he pulls someone over the ledge! Can't fucking wait!!!

Haha. Looks like they thought about making it more marketable. :heh:

Looks good. First one was a great start. Hopefully this sends it into famous territory.

Have to agree with that...for me this looks like dare I say it very similar to the war torn towns of MGS4 except in a very stylised manner

I just watched the strictly final and noticed how in some places Tom looks a lot like Nathan Drake lol. Anyone find good comparison pictures?

Okay I wasn't that excited before, mainly because I haven't read about it, but after reading that I really can't wait. It sounds awesome. My one problem with the first was, as Edge said, the shooting and exploring was a bit disjointed but also it got a bit repetitive. Sounds like they've sorted that out.

I wonder what happened to blond lady from the first one. What was her name?

Anyone know the rough release date?

Thanks very much Dante!!

Tbh I hope it doesn't come out till the end of 2009, the more time spent on it the better as I think it will need it... the stealth bits could be iffy unless they are done right, everything else sounds about right apart from the title, they should change the name but it has potential and for however good the original was it could still have been better, so as long as this sequel improves upon what was already there then it will be a success. :)

*Edit* also I don't care if Elena is in it or not or Sully for that matter, sure Elena & Nathan there was "chemistry" 'n shit but he could easily be a Bond like char with a new female in each game, theres nothing bad about his character, just nothing amazing either... funny at times but he feels like a "Template-for-a-hero-Character" so I guess it would be nice if they fleshed out his personality a bit more this time around and as for Sully he was ok but I found him annoying at times. >> *runs or whatever*

I thought Sully was a good character but maybe that was just me. I don't think they necessarily had to impose personality on Drake, he seemed like a layed back guy with a funny sense of humour that didn't mind kicking ass and jumping from great heights.

I don't think the 'using full power' thing is actually going to make too much difference, from what I've seen so far MGS4 still looks better than it.

I am gonna love the game though, I know it won't let me down. Sounds too good and I was a major fan of the first.
