Noodleman Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I've been deciding whether to post this thread or not on and off all day but fuck it I never start threads, anyway tomorrow morning I set off for Heathrow to begin 8 months of traveling. I decided to create a thread for it, for several reasons. Firstly it means I wont have to spam up the user image thread with pictures. Secondly I can post some updates as and when, because you all want to know about me. So yeah ill post my itinerary bellow, I realise its not very likely being a euro centric board but if anybody happens to live in any of the cities I'm going to and wants to meet up for a beer or whatever that would be coolio. Or just has some cool things to see or do in any of the places then post away. Noodles totally awesome round world trip Itinerary: 15th September - ??? LegoMan1031 Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Cool, it must take alot of planning and dedication to sort something like this out! I could never bring myself to do anything like this... Kudos to u!!!
Shino Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 That's awesome, are you going with lots of people? Maybe you won't read this in time, but I certainly wouldn't take a coach across Brazil to Argentina.
Paj! Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I so wanna do something like this. Have fun, and good luck!
jayseven Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Props to you for being so daring. Melbourne and Sydney for xmas and new years? Awesome. I look forward to your updates.
Nami Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 That's a proper mission!! - I like the plan though, how have you've saved up for this?!
Noodleman Posted September 15, 2008 Author Posted September 15, 2008 Thanks guys, just about to leave for Heathrow. Man that sounds awesome. How much is it going to cost if you don't mind me asking? Anyway have fun. I'm sure you will. The flights cost about 2 grand and then I have access to about 8 grand in savings, hopefully I don't spend it all but I probably will. That's a proper mission!! - I like the plan though, how have you've saved up for this?! Moved back home once I finished uni and worked for 2 years. The money I would have been paying for rent I stuck in my savings account each month. Catch you later guys :awesome:
ShadowV7 Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Woah pretty cool. Good luck with everything Noodle. Looking forward to pictures!
ReZourceman Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Man that sounds awesome. How much is it going to cost if you don't mind me asking? Anyway have fun. I'm sure you will. A couple of my mates have done something similar, and I believe it cost them in excess of £500 each.
nightwolf Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Sounds immense, I'm darn jealous of you! ^_^! Will you be finding places to go along the way that you've missed or trying to cram it in now?
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Must be amazing to take such a trip. Have a splendid time!
Domstercool Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I've always wondered how people plan these out. Do you just buy random flights then find hotels when you are there?
nightwolf Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 It tends to be easier to plan if you have family dotted around.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 *sniff* what? ...no tokyo?? To be honest, I was disappointed at the lack of Denmark-ness on that list. Surely we're the most fantastic country in Europe ... ... no?
Roostophe Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Dannyboy: No. Sweden is much better. Have a good time, Noodle. : peace: Ah, he's gone. He's off spreading his Noodles and love for Colchester United F.C. across the world.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Dannyboy: No. Sweden is much better. Well, they do have Systembolaget ... But we've got a prettier flag! :p
Shino Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 But we've got a prettier flag! :p Unless you're colour blind.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Unless you're colour blind. Dang, didn't think of that ... Anyhooz, perhaps we should get back on topic? If there's more to discuss?
Fierce_LiNk Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I hope you really enjoy your trip, Man of Noodles. I've probably never said it, but you're awesome, and I wish I had your knowledge of football. So, hope you have a good time. Look forward to the piccies.
Noodleman Posted September 16, 2008 Author Posted September 16, 2008 Yo, I hate jetlag. I woke up at 4:30 this morning because my body though it was 9:30 Anyway, not to sure what to make of Toro+oto at the moment. It seems like basically every generic American city but with a silly accent. Went to the CN Tower this morning. It's pretty fucking tall! got some pretty good views of the place and out to lake Ontario. Not sure if these will work but anyway:
