Coolness Bears Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Romania, I'd say. Or Switzerland. Czech Rep. are playing today! Woo! I think I shall support those two then! I tried to watch some this evening but gave up after 5 minutes.
Hellfire Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Allow me to disagree, he made some class passes. We played near perfect! Haven't seen us play like this since the last cup, and even then. 2-0 doesn't really do us justice, it could have easily been 4 our 5 nil. Did you so our man Moutinho?! So damn good! Mouthino was freaking amazing. I actually ... liked to watch the game *gasp*

I saw Moutinho play. He was very good, aye. I've always had my eye on him since I bought him on Pro Evo 5.
Shino Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Mouthino was freaking amazing. I actually ... liked to watch the game *gasp* See, you should watch these games. I saw Moutinho play. He was very good, aye. I've always had my eye on him since I bought him on Pro Evo 5. Shit was SO cash. He'll be the backbone of that team in the future. But to be honest, even Nuno Gomes who I usually don't like see, played brilliant. I hope they keep it up.
pedrocasilva Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Just dropping by to say... poooortugal Krillin score the first goal
Guest Maase Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 My god, our announcers suck as hell. When a Portuguese falls to the ground, is allways red card to the other player near him, when a turkese (:X) receives a damn kick in his leg and falls in the ground, what do the announcers say? "Bah.. whe shouldn't waste time with plays, he's injured or is not, enough of the plays" (And he says this right in a Slow-Mo repetition of the kick in his leg) (Im talking of the Announcers of SportTV 1) Either way, great game, we deserved the victory
Babooo Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Watched the 2nd half of Switzerland/Czech Republic game and it was bloody boring. The Swiss don't even deserve to be there. But then I started watching the Portugal/Turkey match and it was fucking awesome! Ronaldo played well as did Mouthino. I wanted to see Queresma play but he was an unused sub. Thought Colin Kazem Richards played well for the turkish as well. Looks like a bright player. Germany/Poland should be good. Thats about it. But knowing myself I will probably watch most of the Austria/Croatia game as well. If there's football on, I can't stop myself watching.
Jonnas Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 I, too, thought Deco was the weakest link. But João Moutinho and that guy Pepe played a great game. The TVI commentators weren't so bad, other than the C.Ronaldo favouritism. Whenever several players were involved in a play, they would always praise his part (even if it was just a simple pass). Like this memorable one: -Several players pass the ball among themselves: "Passes the ball. Pass. Another pass." *Someone passes to Cristiano* "Goal opportunity!" Anyway, we owned Turkey. Now we just have to own everyone else in the competition.
pedrocasilva Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 I, too, thought Deco was the weakest link. But João Moutinho and that guy Pepe played a great game. That's no pepe, that's Krillin!
gmac Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 although Portugal showed some nice attacking football they still seemed a bit suspect at the back and could be punished by a more effective team than Turkey
Falcon_BlizZACK Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 Portugal all the way mate! (Only for the fact that you offer great houses at affordable prices^^).
Shino Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 although Portugal showed some nice attacking football they still seemed a bit suspect at the back and could be punished by a more effective team than Turkey They didn't have many chances, our defence was quite effective, I can only remember one header that was incredibly stupid on our part. But yeah, a more attacking team can likely score against us, but that's usually what we're expecting, because a more offensive team are also easier to score against. Honestly, this performance gave me great hopes. It showed more than a team of great players. Or maybe I'm just insanely hyped.
Jonnas Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 That's no pepe, that's Krillin! Not short enough. Also, he was far more effective.
The fish Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 I, too, thought Deco was the weakest link. When Deco (who should change his first name to Arthur, by the way...) is your team's weak link, you're doing something right...
gmac Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 Poland doing their usual and crumbling against the Germans, two defensive errors = 2 goals
Sheikah Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 Well normally, I don't give a fuck about football. Any football. The game bores me, the only pleasure I get is from the reactions of people get in the pub. Y'know, like when someone takes out the £250,000 on Deal or No Deal, hands on mouths and all that. HOWEVER! Although I won't be watching it. I want Turkey to win. Only because I was assigned Turkey on a Facebook group. They will fall to my Turks. Haha yes, I love watching people absolutely destroyed on Deal or no deal. Awful show - only worth it to see these really annoying superstitious greedy people leave with nothing.
Ramar Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 Went to ladbrokes today put two small bets on, £2 on Holland winnning the tournament at 12/1, and £2 on Klose being top scorer which I think was 9/1. By todays game, looks like I bet on the wrong 'German'.
Jimbob Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 As much as i wanted a national team from this country to qualify, i shall be supporting Portugal in Euro 2008. They seem like they can win this year, but need to improve a little in defense. I saw a few flaws in the opening game.
Hellfire Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Portugal all the way mate! (Only for the fact that you offer great houses at affordable prices^^). Affordable for foreigners maybe. lol Portuguese support makes the Don happy.
Dog-amoto Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Ha ha. We had 5 cars full of knobhead Poles driving down my parents' street last night before the match going really slowly and sounding their horns taking the piss that England weren't in the Euros and then they go and lose! First time I've ever supported the Germans! Was really quiet afterwards...wonder why...!???!
Noodleman Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Watched the 2nd half of Switzerland/Czech Republic game and it was bloody boring. The Swiss don't even deserve to be there. Why don't you think Switzerland deserve to be at Euro 2008 out of interest. They didn't lose a match or conceed a goal at the last world cup.
MoogleViper Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Ha ha. First time I've ever supported the Germans! Was really quiet afterwards...wonder why...!???! Would be great if they did that in Worksop or my old village (Shirebrook). They probably wouldn't be able to walk afterwards.
Deathjam Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Why don't you think Switzerland deserve to be at Euro 2008 out of interest. They didn't lose a match or conceed a goal at the last world cup. Didn't they also not score a goal or win a game?
Noodleman Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Except they won 2 of their group matches 2-0 and the other was a pretty respectable 0-0 draw with France.
The fish Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 You have to feel sorry for Romania - they deserved to win that, if only because France were so, so poor. Still, Italy vs Netherlands tonight. It's likely to be total chaos.
