ReZourceman Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 One day she'll get a name for the character she plays. ...Girl with a Pearl Earring ....The Other Boleyn Girl .......A Good Woman
EEVILMURRAY Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Every role she has should have the title: "Talentless bitch whose lips don't meet."
darksnowman Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 She is great in Lost in Translation as Charlotte. Great film that also stars the other great Murray of our time... not the Eevil one, but Bill.
Guest bluey Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 She is great in Lost in Translation as Charlotte. Great film that also stars the other great Murray of our time... not the Eevil one, but Bill. best. opening. shot. ever. i havent seen any of the other films... so i cant really comment... and her character in lost in translation is kind of... hollow - she doesnt even really know who she is... so i reeeally have nothing to add except the picture of her ass *runs away*
Tellyn Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 ...Girl with a Pearl Earring ....The Other Boleyn Girl .......A Good Woman ....... The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.
Aimless Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 [insert terrible 'opening shot' joke here.] I've seen her in a few films — Lost In Translation, Ghost World, Girl With A Pearl Earring — and she never seems to have much character. She's like a female Keanu Reeves.
EEVILMURRAY Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 She is great in Lost in Translation as Charlotte. Great film that also stars the other great Murray of our time... not the Eevil one, but Bill. Awesome as Bill Murray is [Actually just finished watching Groundhog's Day] but even he couldn't save that boring shit fest that was Lost In Translation. Wow I need to see Lost in Translation. No. No you don't.
Slaggis Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Awesome as Bill Murray is [Actually just finished watching Groundhog's Day] but even he couldn't save that boring shit fest that was Lost In Translation. No. No you don't. Lies. It's a good film. ReZ, watch it!
or else you will DIE Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 LiT is an amazing movie. You got the Jesus and Mary Chain song to top it all off too.
Eenuh Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Awesome as Bill Murray is [Actually just finished watching Groundhog's Day] but even he couldn't save that boring shit fest that was Lost In Translation. No. No you don't. Finally! Another person who doesn't like that movie either! Seriously I thought it was extremely boring. So boring I've already forgotten what happens in it.
Noodleman Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Given ReZ's previous posts in the film thread he wouldnt like Lost In Translation. It's a great move though, and Scarlet has been average at best in every other film ive seen her in.
EEVILMURRAY Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Finally! Another person who doesn't like that movie either!Seriously I thought it was extremely boring. So boring I've already forgotten what happens in it. I tried giving it a chance. It made all the critics jizz, it had the Murray in, it was worth a look in. I couldn't watch it all the way to the end because it just wasn't going anywhere.
Aimless Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 So boring I've already forgotten what happens in it. You haven't. Nothing happens. I quite liked Lost In Translation. It does a good job of capturing the setting and can be quite funny, but it's a bit too... loose for my liking. I can see why people like it, but one viewing was enough for me. I think it accomplishes what it set out to, but that isn't what I want from a movie.
Coolness Bears Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 I haven't seen a film with her in! So i don't know whether she is any good or not! I'd watch Lost in Translation but i know my attention span is short and i probably wouldn't get the point of the movie!
gaggle64 Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 ....... The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. That movie was awesome.
Paj! Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 I loved Ghost World, and I laughed everytime I heard her voice (metaphorically). Really deep for no reason. I have no idea if that's her real voice, or not, but I'm sure she's on some make-up commercial and it's higher. I suppose she's not meant to have much character in Ghost World though.
Dante Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Eh ReZourceman, Scarlett Johansson is playing a lesbain with Penelope Cruz in Vicky Cristina Barcelona
Intensity Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Eh ReZourceman, Scarlett Johansson is playing a lesbain with Penelope Cruz in Vicky Cristina Barcelona I'm there opening night

Must I interpret this as "short attention span" or just idiocy?
Daft Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Lost in Translation is definitely an over rated film, Its in no way bad, which is surprising since that talentless moron Sophia Coppola directed it. Its a film where you can't criticise anyone either way for liking it or not, unless you're trying to fail sounding like a smart arse, because its meaning is on a very personal level. Personally what it does is nothing new for me, I've seen European and some fantastic Korean/Japanese films tackle the same topic much more competently.
Eenuh Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Must I interpret this as "short attention span" or just idiocy? Neither, thank you very much. I watched it all the way through and felt like I had wasted my precious time, which I could've spent on more interesting and productive things. The film was boring and did nothing for me.
EEVILMURRAY Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Must I interpret this as "short attention span" or just idiocy? Well since I buckled 30 mins towards the end you can chalk it up to short attention span. If you "Must". However I'm going to interpret it as "100% fucking boring". To be honest I surprised myself by making myself watching more, fooling myself in the hope that something interesting might happen.
Rummy Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 I didn't really 'get' LiT, i guess for me, the meaning was 'lost in translation' aAHAHAHAHAHAHA. ahem. But yeah, not a great film for me, and I don't really see the raving about Scarlett Johansson either, not my kind of girl. I don't think I've seen anything else with her in, but I know a fair few people who talk about her like she's some sort of angel on earth. Plus, the arse in the opening shot of LiT isn't really hers, it's very clever editing.
