Stalin Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 I like soup. My favourite at the moment is carrot and coriander. So I was wondering does anyone else like soup and what is your favourite flavour? Oh and does anyone have any good recipes 'cos homemade always tastes better.
Shorty Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Tesco had an offer on their website, 5 cans of Heinz for £2. I'm not very daring, so I went for 3 cream of Chicken, one cream of Tomato and one Tomato/Chicken/Pepper. The latter smelt like Bolognese sauce, but was way too chunky for my liking. The chicken had too many bits of chicken in too, but was tasty anyway. It's not that I can't handle 'bits', even in yoghurt, it's more like I'm thinking: "the stuff that they save for soups and ready meals must be one step up from the stuff they use in dog food".
Roostophe Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 I've not had soup in years.... carrot and coriander. Chili chowder. Crouton, crouton. Crunchy friends in a liquid broth...
Stalin Posted November 18, 2007 Author Posted November 18, 2007 Chicken soup can be good but it depends greatly on the quality of the chicken. My favourite soup ever was one I had in a restaurant last year. It was supposed to be spicy tomato, 'cept it was really, really spicy. I was at a party recently and the host had prepared some sort of pumpkin soup. It had a strange flavour, not entirely to my taste. There's this mushroom soup we have sometimes in college, right, and it's disgusting but if you're drunk you can be sick in it and nobody notices. I do love soup.
darksnowman Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Ma's or granny-o's homemade broth wins this contest. Know what I love in soup? Them wee white things... the barley. Its too good.
DCK Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Chinese tomato soup, with chicken, 'bean sprouts' (whatever the word is in English) and ginger syrup. Lovely stuff.
Letty Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Carrot and orange Its good. The only thing I remember from school.
Coolness Bears Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 I love Tomato Soup! and if i have it (on the very rare occassions i run out of Pitta Bread. ) i put some crutons in it and have a crunchy roll to soak up all the soupy goodness.
Dyson Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 FRENCH ONION SOUP FTW! On a very serious note, Thai Chicken and Lemongrass. Does ANYONE know if this soup is still made, in liquid or packet form, ANYWHERE? It used to be my favourite flavour of soup and about 4 or 5 years ago Knorr stopped making it. If anyone knows where to find this flavour (if it exists), own brand supermarket or whatever, please say so!
Haver Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 I love that chicken and onion soup they serve at Chinese places, in the little white dish.
welsh_gamer Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 I first had Carrot and Corriander soup at our 6th form ball, and since then I love it. I always try to have a bowl of it every fortnight. Chicken soup for tea tomorrow night. Haven't had it in ages. Went off it for a while, but I figure it should be ok if I add a lot of salt to it.
jayseven Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 I love that chicken and onion soup they serve at Chinese places, in the little white dish. You mean the fingerbowl?
