mr_bogus Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 What's your favorite logic/puzzle game? Mine would be a tossup between Picross and Shisen-Sho.
The Bard Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Does Advance Wars count? If so then that. If it doesn't then it's Bust A Move 4/ The Sudoku puzzles in Brain Age...
Jonnas Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Picross and Sudoku highly entertain me. I love Tetris, but does it count as a logic game? Or just any puzzle will do?
mr_bogus Posted November 2, 2007 Author Posted November 2, 2007 I think anything should count, on any platform (non-console even)...
welsh_gamer Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Defintley Picross. Have wasted many hour's of my life on the amazing DS game. I used to enjoy sudoku a lot, but I brought a sudoku puzzle book last week, for my trip to London, and I struggled to do the easy one's! The shame...
chairdriver Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Chess is awesome. Mafia. :P It's my favourite logic game too.
Jonnas Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Chess is awesome. So strategy games also count? Because I love Chess and Fire Emblem. It's my favourite logic game too. I'd say Mafia is more like a "Paranoia-Filled Interactive Mistery Novel". But I guess logic thinking is important. Also, quickly becoming a favourite of mine.
jayseven Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 That's easy. Go. I like Go quite a lot too - but I'm rather poo at it, and recently the prospect of a 40-minute+ game has been putting me off playing. Chess I like too - really want to find someone who is willing to play me all the time. If anyone here has facebook, PM me and I can link you to a chess application where we can play a 'letter' game - take it in turns to play, no time limit. Mafia thread is awesome too :P I recommend players to read the wiki article for clues!! :P As for proper games... Like Eevilmurray, I like polarium. Got it for £6 and it was definitely worth it. Picross is ace! Not too tricky. Sudoku is good but sometimes I look at the numbers make some weird sort of "ding" noise in my head and I feel like i'm turning into a computer, or something... Anyone played that mastermind board game? Nice little puzzler. I think puzzle games (which I'm using to envelop everything mentioned in this thread, rather harshly!) have always been one of my favourite genres. Does Risk count? I've never played the actual board game but I've played Isle Wars a bit and the whole armies/territory this is the same but on a smaller scale, and good fun.
Daft Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 I had an awesome game of chess yesterday in Uni. Chess ftw win!
mr_bogus Posted November 3, 2007 Author Posted November 3, 2007 Hmmm... sex. That's cheating, sex could be classified as anything - action game...logic game...adventure game, even an FPS with a bit of imagination
Mr_Odwin Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 even an FPS with a bit of imagination BOOM!!! HEADSHOT!!!! ... er ... or something. On topic, I like chess. But I tend to get bored of this type of stuff as the internet has killed my ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
Charlie Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 I love chess but can never find anyone other than my brothers who can give me a decent game, and as I'm away from home now I have no one to play with. Haven't actually played in ages apart from one game where I got my ass handed to me by a level 10 computer in Vista's chess game.
EEVILMURRAY Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Try the lovely internet checkers. I can't stop playing for some reason, also playing Minesweeper at the same time to use my pr0 logic skills to the max.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Chess has always been a favourite of mine, though the lack of opponents and the recent lack of free time have no doubt reduced my skills. I also enjoy Sudokus, though, and I remember playing Mastermind, which is very good for training logical thinking. A good IQ puzzle book is also nice, though I usually find those puzzles a little too hard to do, probably because I haven't figured out how to solve them. :P
Jonnas Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Of course! Minesweeper! I also love that game.
darksnowman Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 My first thought was actually "does Fire Emblem count?" Also, Mafia Game. Man its just soo complicated, the logic has long since been lost!
EEVILMURRAY Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 If anyone fancies a game of MSN Checkers or Minesweeper flags, I'm all for it.
